Introduction: My work stands out from others because I learned the fundamentals of swing dancing from the originators who were still alive at the time, as well as from curated dance footage that was virtually unknown until a few dancers in Los Angeles got their hands on it. From Frankie Manning and Norma Miller to Hal Takier and Jean Veloz, I've had the opportunity to learn from the masters, including many of the legendary dancers who danced along side Dean Collins while he was still alive. This experience has given me an authentic style and broad reach of knowledge about the dance style. I've performed swing dancing all over the world and won numerous national and world competitions. I have been featured in music videos, tv shows, and print ads and was inducted into the Swing Dance Hall of Fame as a Nova Star.
I love seeing people learn to dance even though they first thought it would be impossible. I enjoy the satisfaction in a dancer's face as they overcome their fears of dancing in public. I live to teach those moments. I also enjoy choreographing routines for dancers. It's special to see your vision or ideas come to life through an expression that is not your own.
