I was a relative beginner to the guitar when I started lessons with Otis. From the first lesson he was patient, encouraging and enthusiastic. He tailors the lessons to the types of music and songs you are interested in. He has a wide range of music knowledge and styles which make him an ideal teacher who can help any student take that first step toward becoming a guitar player or help a seasoned player hone their skills. Highly recommended!
My daughter has been taking bass guitar lessons at Anita's school for about 2 months and has thoroughly enjoyed it. Her teacher, Brett, is kind and patient. She feels totally comfortable with him.
I recently signed up for piano and voice lessons with Julian and couldn't be happier with my experience so far. Julian is kind, patient and extremely knowledgeable. Highly recommended!
He is the best teacher ever with 50 years of experience! Recommend to anyone looking to REALLY learn the guitar or banjo or bass or uke!
David has been teaching me guitar for a little over a month now. I have already seen great advances in my technique, rhythm, and understanding of music. I have been playing guitar for 9 years off and on, and I have never had professional lessons. I can say that after a month with David, I am playing better than I ever have and believe that my guitar playing skills will continue to progress rapidly with David's help. His teaching technique is very casual and fun, almost conversational, and his insights are spot on. He is exactly what I hoped for in an instructor when I started looking at guitar lessons and I would highly recommend him for anyone who loves guitar, regardless of their skill level. He is a 'must hire' professional!
Wanted to take piano lessons, so I called the owner, Kris, and he made me feel very confident and comfortable in going with his studio. Charlie, my piano teacher, is very good. He's attentive, patient, and most importantly challenges me. Great experience so far. Highly recommended.
Just started doing a few lessons for guitar but have plans to do singing lessons as well. He is versatile and flexible and is working on what I need for the goals I have. Great guy and worth the money so far.
I was looking to take a few bass lessons as character research for a role, but I was pleasantly surprised at how much I truly enjoyed working with Shimon and learning the bass guitar. I have a hectic schedule and Shimon was very flexible and accommodating. Thanks for all you help and support! I couldn't have been more satisfied with my experience.
As an adult student, I have been taking mandolin and guitar lessons from Steve for about two years. I would highly recommend him unquestionably to any prospective student looking to take music lessons. Steve is a down to earth instructor who is not only eager to help his students learn but demonstrabl y excellent at playing and teaching the instrument he teaches. Steve has introduced me to a variety of music from a theory viewpoint, but is eager to help his students define their own path, reflective of their particular musical tastes. I've played an array of bluegrass, jazz, blues, and classical music with Steve. Not only has my playing dramatically improved but my appreciation for the music has improved exponentially. I've learned how to diatonic ally examine songs, understand rhythm signatures, identify different scales, solo, and perhaps most importantly, how to practice properly. Whether you're just looking to play your favorite song, or become a life long student of your instrument, Steve is definitely the guy to help you along.
I began taking voice lessons from Peter Hostage in May and have been highly satisfied with my decision to do so. If you are considering taking music lessons with Mr. Hostage, know that you can expect a high level of professionalism, a relaxed atmosphere, and most importantly, quality musical instruction. As someone who began singing at an early age, I have had the opportunity to sing both individually and as part of numerous groups. In just three weeks Peter has introduced me to technique that I had not been exposed in my 10+ years singing. I am confident that continued lessons with Mr. Hostage will enhance my vocal ability. The lessons are definitely worth the investment!
Frank provided an excellent experience that I've never had before. I went to him for intermediate lessons on guitar improvisation. First he took my guitar and explained how to properly set up the little things I'd never think to adjust. Then he explained to me some music theory concepts that completely changed the way I thought about the fundamentals of music. The lesson ended with him giving me some very practical, feasible practice to do in my own time. He'd be worth the money just to hear him give a quick lecture on what music is all about. Also, check out his website - this guys clearly lives a life of creativity and pursues his curiosities. I would definitely recommend him to anyone who is looking to step further into a life of music and self-expression.
Inigo is a great guitar instructor. He is very knowledgeable in multiple guitar styles and great at explaining music theory. He is easy going and encouraging. It is great making music with him!
Mike is great teacher. He keeps the lessons interesting and challenging. He is also very motivating! I can't recommend Mike enough! A++ experience.
George has been teaching guitar to my son for the past 3 years. My son looks forward to his lesson every week. George has really taken the time to understand my son's musical interests, strengths and weaknesses and constructed the lessons around it. My son often continues playing the guitar long after George leaves the lesson. He just feels extremely motivated and enthusiastic after the lesson. We hope that he will continue to teach guitar here for a long time.
I’ve been learning guitar on my own for a while now but working with Devon has already made me get better so much quicker. He knows just about every type of music so he makes it easy to learn whatever songs you like. It’s clear he’s got a masters degree I music but he’s such a nonjudgmental and chill teacher. Recommended if you want to learn guitar, bass, ukulele or how to make electronic music.
John is a very talented music teacher. His passion for music truly comes through in his ability to teach and inspire. John taught my daughter guitar for a year ... we were sad that he was moving, otherwise he would still be teaching her! She learned a great deal and developed a true appreciation for music. What impressed me the most about John is that he is very patient, has a great way of interacting with kids, and really enjoys what he is doing. If a lesson needed to go over by a few minutes, it always did. That is very unusual with private lessons ... and was much appreciated! We highly recommend John as a guitar teacher.
Karen is the BEST bass teacher. I have taken lessons from others in the past, and NONE of them matched Karen in terms of her clear communication, step-wise, logical instruction, and her ability to help me start building a solid musical foundation with fun and enjoyment. I recommend her without reservation!
Coming from a very musical family, Joe started playing bass at the age of 9. While creating music for his own bands, Joe was quickly utilized as the go-to bassist for jazz band, chorus, string ensemble, and even musicals such as Les Miserable, Hello Dolly, etc. His interest in jazz brought him to Berklee College of Music, where he graduated with a degree in contemporary writing and production. Since then, Joe has toured the UK and Europe with international artist Christian Cuff and as a session musician and has shared the stage with artists such as B.B. King and James Otto. By playing styles from hip-hop to classical and anything in between, Joe now works as a producer/engineer in the world-class Rockinghorse Studios in Pittsfield, NH, while still finding the time to play numerous groups throughout New England. Joe's Teaching Philosophy: "My aim as a teacher is to help the student achieve his or her musical goals, which could be anything from strumming chords at a campfire to auditioning for a band. Either way, my intention is to inspire the student to practice and to inspire him/her to have fun. I strongly encourage students to be creative and develop their own style based on what they love about the music they listen to and ultimately want to play."
I will teach anyone who wants to learn how to play the guitar. I can teach students chords, tablature, scales, some music theory, rhythm, and picking techniques. I like to play rock, blues, jazz, and some bluegrass/country stuff. I am no shredder, but I can pick out some tunes. Let me teach you if you are interested.
I teach my students to tap their inner strengths and excel to their best potential. I like learning something new about my students and learning FROM my students.
Hi, my name is Frank Murphy, and I'm 42. I've been playing guitar for 30 years. Playing guitar is my favorite thing to do and teaching it is just one of its many rewards. Because of the guitar, I've been in bands that have toured. I've recorded several times for myself as well as doing sessions for blues, jazz, rock, metal, country, and shred. I've performed for thousands, and I've met some of the most interesting people. I teach in a manner which will lead you to finding your own voice on the guitar as an individual. I am well versed in music theory. Lessons are $60 for 30 minutes.
