I have been studying Ukulele with Mike Loce at Music Elements for a few months now. Mike makes the class fun, relaxing and enjoyable. Already I can play quite a few tunes. I am an adult student and would recommend Music Lessons at Music Elements to everyone!
I am so proud of all the great work my good friendGreg Arney has done in creating this awesome website of free guitar lessons. Hub guitar is simply the best material out there. Top notch stuff!

Barbara has been my piano teacher for the past 5 years. She combines a deep understanding of the technical and artistic aspects of piano with a sincere love of music and that comes through in all her lessons. What impresses me most about Barbara is her ability to tailor lessons to the students' needs and capabilities, and her willingness to find the approach that works best for each individual. She's not afraid to try several times in different ways to get a lesson point across -- if that's what a student needs. Barbara is keenly observant and can explain to me what I'm doing well, and not-so-well, and why, so I can incorporate that into my approach to my lessons. As an adult learner (I didn't take music lessons as a child) I have a steeper learning curve in some aspects of piano but Barbara and her patience is with me every step of the way. At the same time, while she's very accommodating of her students, she doesn't cheat, or 'dumb down' a lesson. You need to understand the technical reasons behind a certain piece and Barbara makes sure you do, so you know why you're playing what you're playing. You do need to practice and while Barbara can tell when you haven't practiced as much as you should, she never passes judgment, and encourages you go to back at it again next week. Sometimes I'm a little early for my weekly lesson and in the waiting area I can hear Barbara and her current student (voice or piano) in the next room. I can happily report that what I've previously described for my experience with Barbara is exactly what she delivers to every one of her students, regardless of their age, skill level, or musical background. VERY highly recommended!
If you are looking for a superior guitar instructor, go no further - Jonas Kublickas is that person! Our son has been taking lessons from Jonas for a little over two years. Even though our son is dyslexic and learns differently, Jonas understood the situation, connected with him, and has turned him into the second best guitarist in Salzburg smile emoticon Jonas will always have our thanks, and we are proud to recommend him to anyone who is considering taking guitar lessons.

Took lessons with Don when I was in my sixties. Loved his method of teaching and at the very least can sit down at the piano and play to my satisfaction. After much searching my daughter in law found a piano teacher in N.J. with a similar philosophy of teaching for her daughter with amazing results. She is now creating her own songs and loving it. I strongly recommend Don. He is the best.
When I started lessons with Frank he quickly got to an understanding of my level of ability and he then aimed the lesson around improving that level. He has a good method of effective teaching and I would honestly recommend him to anyone thinking or wanting to play bass. His lessons seemed a lot more effective than any other lessons I have got in the past
I have taken cello lessons with Patrick for less than a year. I started as an adult student who's a zero cello experience beginner. Patrick helped me to work on the Suzuki book 1, and I'm very surprised at how much progress I have made from the first class. Patrick is one of the best teachers I've ever had. He teaches with his professional attitude, his long-time accumulated music expertise and his outstanding academic background. Having class with him is a highly interactive process, where he always responds with effective answers or solutions to student's questions, or problems student encountered during the practice. His passion and profound insight about music, culture, as well as humanity also helps his students to get more interested and engaged in the instrument as well as their playing. All in all, I'm very thankful to Patrick and feel really lucky to have him as my first cello teacher. What he brings me is far more than those very helpful cello techniques, practice tips, or music knowledge, but a wonderful journey to explore the cello world.
I've been working with Jun over a month now! (I have hired another tutor perviously from Thumbtack for more than 4 month, and 2 lessons per week! I learned nothing from it! So I decided that I really need to find another one! I'm so glad that I did so, because I learned more in a month with Jun than what I learned in 4 months perviously! ) I find that Jun is very patient, as well talented of both piano and teaching! I am 25 yrs old and just started learning Piano, so my needs will be different than little kids! What I want to get from it is just pleasure and to be able to play some music (songs). She listens to my needs and prepare the classes ahead accordingly! Every class she brings me the material and mark notes for me ahead of time! I deeply feel that she cares about her students and really time take to make sure they learn something out of it! I strongly recommend her, if you are looking for a piano tutor, she will defenitly be suitable for both kids and adults! Last but not least, she has a great personality, and very pleasant to work with!!!
Sachiko is a wonderful teacher. As I have a keyboard, she traveled to my house to teach. She was very patient and understanding. I have a rather unique background with the piano, and have been rather 'unteachable' to other piano teachers. Sachiko was able to cater to my specific needs and work through what I was trying to accomplish. I am excited for her to be my piano teacher! I highly recommend!

Hello, my name is Kathleen Doran. I am a professional trumpet player in the Boston area. I am currently finishing my degree at Berklee College of Music. I have experience studying and playing both Classical and Jazz genres. I finished high school at Interlochen Arts Academy, and from there participated in The Tanglewood Youth Orchestra. I attended college at Oberlin Conservatory, in Ohio. I am now a scholarship student at Berklee College of Music, and also work at the school part time as a tutor for their core music curriculum. I'm very confident in my skill as a teacher as a communicator. I believe strongly in the developing the physical fundamentals of trumpet playing, so to begin with we will focus a lot on technique. Also, we will lots of listening, and work to find what your musical interests are regarding he trumpet. Discipline comes from fostering passion. We have to keep your passion alive so that you have inspiration to practice! I'd be willing and interested in teaching all students, any age, or learning style.
In 2007, multi-instrumentalist Dan Fox founded the Morningside Music Studio in Arlington's Morningside neighborhood. His vision was to have a laid back and supportive environment he and his wife, Jennifer Elowsky-Fox could teach private lessons and jazz ensembles. It has proved a good idea as groups and lesson times have started to fill with musicians of all levels eager to play and improve. Morningside offers weekly ongoing jazz ensembles. You can join one anytime and continue as long as you like. Work on improvisation techniques as well as building a repertoire of tunes. Topics include playing modal jazz, blues, standards, scales for improvisation, how to build a solo, phrasing, pacing, dynamics, and a lot more. Instruments accepted are piano, bass, guitar, drums, vocalists, and horn players. Players should either have some knowledge of harmony or be somewhat new to jazz but have some proficiency on their instruments. The idea will be to group people together who are at similar levels. Steinway grand piano, amps, and drums are available. Each group will be limited to four players. Morningside groups play concerts every few months. Previous venues include The Lily Pad, Ryles Jazz Club, The Chit Chat Lounge, Somerville Cable Access TV, and various coffeehouses. Fee is $25/class. No obligation to continue after first class if you choose not to. All groups are taught by Dan Fox. Schedule: Please contact us for the current schedule of evening and weekend daytime groups. Combos at all levels from beginning to advance are currently being offered. "The Morningside Music student ensemble is the ideal introduction into (or exploration of) the jazz world for the beginner/intermediate level player. In the short time since I've started, not only have I built substantially on my repertoire, but learned useful concepts for soloing and accompaniment. Under competent direction (and with a little hard work) you'll be amazed how you grow as a musician in leaps and bounds- two thumbs up!" Ethan Kaczowka - guitarist, 23 yrs. old
I would be more than happy to assist people with academic music disciplines that they study. The topics of discussions cover the following areas: * Music Analysis * Counterpoint in Composition * Tonal Harmony and Voice Leading * Keyboard Harmony, Along with its Baroque-Based Figured Bass Techniques * Choral Analysis and Harmonization * Post-Tonal Analysis, etc. Through the initial discussion, usually, we touch the areas that cause a problem for the student at the time being, and then accurately build an appropriate plan for the lessons. The goal for our meetings would be to broaden the student's understanding of the problematic subjects of study.
