Best LSAT tutor I could've ever imagined.
Oliver was a great help to my daughter reviewing the math section for the ACT and SAT's. Her SAT score increased by 130 points! We were are so pleased, that I have already asked Oliver to tutor my younger daughter with pre-calc and SAT prep in the Fall....Thanks Oliver!!!
I am so impressed my my son's tutor, Ezra Gouvea! He has been helping my son with Algebra 2 and we couldnt be more pleased!
I was a student at The Pennsylvania State University and decided to take Calculus III and Vector Analysis over the summer at a local college. I met with Michelle each week to go over the material I learned, complete homework assignments and study for upcoming exams. It was a very challenging class but Michelle was very helpful in explaining the topics and I ended up receiving at B+ in the class. I would highly recommend her as a math tutor.
I recently ran across a review about Quantum Prep and felt like I just had to share my tutoring story as well. I graduated from Lexington High School in Lexington Massachusetts. Lexington High School is a huge school. When I say huge, I mean I graduated with five hundred and eleven classmates. I was always proud to go to Lexington High, we were rated number 19 in 2014 by Newsweek in their Americas Top Public Schools. Luckily my class sizes were always small and it was not too hard to get help from the teacher. The first semester of my junior year I was taking five classes. I was looking into pre-med, so I took a lot of hard science classes that gave me at least two hours of homework a night. I also worked on the weekends, swam competitively, played in the jazz band and was active in my religious youth group. That year I was taking AP Chemistry as a challenge and knew I was going to have a tough time with it. My teacher, Mrs. Compton, was great! She explained everything really well and broke it down for the class. I just really couldnt get everything in my notebook and in my head with enough time to move on to the next topic, so Id lose information here and there, making it really hard to answer test questions. I got the first F in my entire academic career on the first quiz. Im one of those people who expect a lot from themselves, and I expected As. I felt really bad about myself for the first two quizzes because I wasnt coming even close to what I knew I could do. In addition, because I was spending so much time working on AP Chemistry, my other classes were suffering. And as a prospective pre-med student, I was afraid that because I challenged myself I wasnt going to get into the colleges I wanted. That's when I called Quantum Prep for help. As soon as I had the first tutoring session I felt a little more reassured. We went over my quizzes and homework assignments and my tutor quickly picked up what I was missing and how to keep me focused. I felt much more confident walking into class every day. My tutor figured out how I best learn and we started laughing and making jokes as we did stereochemistry. Yes, he figured out within one session that I learn better with music playing in the background and even knew why! The real difference was that he didnt just teach me material, he taught me how to learn for myself. It was a game-changer in how I approached school and learning in general. So while he was teaching me one class, I was using the learning techniques he taught me to improve my grades in all of my classes. He even patiently sat through temper tantrums and low points. So what happened after I called Quantum Prep? The next quiz I took, I got thirty points higher than the last. The first exam; I got a B+. I went on to graduate in a science heavy degree, and got into my first choice for college and graduated with a degree in Neuropsychology. I highly suggest using Quantum Prep for any kind of tutoring. I had such a wonderful experience and have used the lessons I learned from him in so many different aspects of my life, from studying at the university to job experiences. Thank you Quantum Prep!
John has tremendous knowledge and experience teaching algebra. His passion is remarkable and infectious. He has a structured approach to breaking down all of the concepts and teaching them one-by-one. In 5 meetings he has covered nearly a whole year of course work. His follow-up after meetings is fantastic and he always arrives on time, enthusiastic to get started. My son and I couldn't be happier!
The online tutoring works really well. At first I was hesitent, but my daughter took to it immediately. We had a traditional math tutor for her in middle school who would visit twice a week. Online is much more convenient. Professor Holton is a fabulous instructor. We couldn't be more pleased
Kathie was wonderful with my daughter. We only had a short time to work together before my daughter had to take her ACT and because of Kathie my daughter felt prepared. Will absolutely use her again for my other daughter!
Elisha is a very qualified tutor. She not only knew the subject material well, she was very patient and made sure I understood everything well. She helped me prepare for my SAT. Before I sought tutoring, my math score was 440 and after studying with Elisha, my math score went up to 690. I can’t recommend her enough.
I've been out of college for nearly ten years, out of basic math/algebra for...lets just say...longer than that. With my recent decision to go back to school to become an RN, I had to take a math placement test. This worried me because I am notoriously bad at math, and had to take several remedial courses my first time around in college. This time, I was determined to avoid that, I did not want to spend extra time or money on math classes that I wouldn't enjoy! I went from knowing nothing to knowing everything I would need to test into the math requirement for my nursing program, and I couldn't have done it without Erika! (Seriously, every damn question on that test I thought to myself, THANK GOD FOR ERIKA). I had three valuable tutoring sessions with her. She is calm, easy-going, and fun to talk to (someone who I have fun talking about math with, what?!). At the same time she is concise, to the point, and encourages you to solve problems until she can tell that you are really "getting it." If I need further tutoring in math or science during my program, I have every intention of reaching out to Erika, and I would recommend her to anyone!
Mrs. Carpentier was hired to work with my 10 year old on studying skills and reading comprehension. My daughter enjoyed working with her very much. Her grades have improved since the tutoring. I would highly recommend her.
So far so good! Ryan is focused and seems like a great fit for my daughter. Very professional.
Marina has been working with my son on a regular basis to strengthen gaps in his knowledge. She is always warm, patient, understanding and encouraging. She quickly discovered and has helped fill the gaps in my son's knowledge base and after just one session he brought his grade up on a midterm exam from an average C- to a high B. My son is developing study skills and good habits of learning that he has never had since working with Marina and the combination of all of the above is greatly increasing his confidence. Marina is Innovative and flexible and tutors my son online. She provides focused support through Skype sessions, email, and text messages and coaches students to use Khan Academy and other resources effectively. In short, Marina is a dream tutor and my son has decided to follow his long standing dream of studying computer science which he had given up when he began to struggle in math. Marina is a life changer!!!! Can't say enough good things about her.
I have a bachelor's degree in exercise science and a master's degree in mathematics. I am currently an adjunct math professor. I have one client currently. She is in the fifth grade and received an A- in math this past semester. This summer, we are going over problems geared toward the ISEE test.
There are a number of things I do that stand out. First, I'm not out to make a big profit from this. You get the amount of service you need, and meet the goals that are realistic, at a reasonable price. There is nobody, and I do mean NOBODY! who can teach some learning disabled kids better, faster, and to the best of their abilities than I can. I have recommendations from professional peers, a recent supervisor, and parents that will tell you that, time and time again. I can - when conditions are right - teach people how to tell which hand is which, In ONE TO FOUR MINUTES. These are severely dyslexic people, who have NEVER been able to tell their right hand from their left, through ages 11 to 21. Sound impossible? It's real. I travel to you, unless you'd rather meet somewhere central, like a local library. So much of what you pay goes to car expense. To balance costs, I use longer tutoring sessions of 1 to 2 hours per session, and fewer sessions, when possible. When you can't sit that long, we take short breaks and / or have shorter sessions anyway.
I have no idea what other tutors do --- I know, from feedback from students and parents, that I do an excellent job --- first, I know my subject matter (math, physics) --- second, I like helping people --- third, I am very patient --- fourth, I ask leading questions of the student, so as to guide that student into discovering for himself/herself, as much as possible, what is involved in understanding, and then solving, the problem at hand
I can provide tutoring in English, reading and math at the elementary level. I also can provide tutoring in English, history, and science at the middle school level. I have a strong academic background and tutoring experience. I'm flexible, patient and reliable.
I am not a certified tutor. However, I am fluent in English, Spanish, Italian, French, and Russian. I also read and write Arabic.
I am professionally engaged in an environment which constantly requires my knowledge of the sciences in which I would be tutoring in.
An undergraduate student at MIT, I have over 4 years of tutoring experience, with middle school students and high school students alike. I've personally tutored 6 students to an ACT score of 34s, 35s and 36s, and I'm eager to continue helping more students achieve their dreams.
