Did not tell Rezy I had two other quotes on my water heater, ice maker for fridge, and new kitchen faucet with motion sensor (get one, they are great). I went with them because beat big companies by 20++%. Good people. Inspected my house and fixed a couple small valve things for free. Not sure if they would like me saying that part. I wont call big boys next time... waste of my time and their fee to come out!!"See more

He communicated, came on time, fixed and pretty much rebuilt and installed a leaky, wobbly toilet and fixed some minor bathroom sink drain issues. Work was done well, and all was left cleaner than when he started. He was helpful in answering questions about some other plumbing issues and cost was less than what was quoted on the phone. My experience with Madden Home Services was absolutely incredible. I live in a Cambridge condo and I needed my two ancient toilets replaced. I had no idea which type of toilet to purchase and how it would work with the install. Kyle explained everything in detail to me. He recommended different types of toilets but understood that mine was more unique because it was a “back plumbing” type. Once the toilets were delivered, Kyle came within two days and installed everything with efficiency and really beautifully. I am so incredibly pleased! I highly recommend everyone work with him.

Update: Z Plumberz contacted us and refunded us $250, bringing the total down to $175, i.e. what we expected. They said they're a new company and still learning. Huge props for that, it's great to see a company that listens to its customers and is willing to take steps to rectify things. We'd totally hire them again! ❤️ Original review: --------------------- We used Z Plumberz for a clogged kitchen sink, on a Saturday. They were available on the same day, and Shane arrived in our flat within a few hours, which was nice. He was very careful not to make a mess, which we appreciated. He did eventually resolve our clog, but we ended up paying $425 for 50 minutes of work in our apartment, only about 10-15 of which was spent actually unclogging the drain. The rest of the time he was out getting a replacement part for a valve that he broke or applying various fixes to said valve. Their rate is $175 for the first 30 minutes, $295 for one hour, and $250/hour after that, so we absolutely did not expect to pay for 1.5 hour of work to unclog a drain! More details: First, he tried the short snake but it didn't find a clog within 30ft. Then he unscrewed the valve for the trap and he said it snapped. He went to his car and got plumbers tape and glue but that did not work, the pipe would leak. He spent about 10 billable minutes on that, even though it seemed fairly obvious to us that it wouldn't work. He then said he needed to get a new part. I asked if we would be charged for the time he was out getting the part, he said no. 40 minutes passed, then he came back with a larger snake, and the new part. The larger snake resolved the clog (which was apparently 50ft down), and the part worked. Then it was time to pay, and we were shocked to hear a total of $425. We asked why we were being billed for the time he was out, he said that we misunderstood and he meant we wouldn't be charged for the part. I think it's pretty unfair to charge us for time he was out and about, especially for a part that broke under his handling. It's a shame; it would have been a great experience if we were not overcharged like that. Now if we ever have a plumbing issue again, we'll need to hire someone else.
