I highly recommend Cy Rommons for your project. I have been working with Cy on plans for an attached garage/addition to my house. He was very prompt and professional at our first meeting and soon earned my trust. He was very knowledgeable about local town building codes, and although not an engineer, he produces engineer quality work which is stamp worthy. He produced plans for my addition which got approved by the town. Cy doesn't drag you over the coals if you want to revise your plans either, as most designers do. I recently decided to downsize my project and Cy accommodated me at low cost. The best thing about Cy is that he is far more affordable than all designers. I found Cy rates to be 33% lower than the average designer in the area, and far more affordable than what I would get through a general contractor. So cut out the middle guy and hire Cy! If you would like more information regarding this endorsement please feel free to contact me through Cy.
J Oliveira Design Build is one of the best I have ever worked with. I hired them to paint most a condo that I bought, and they did such an amazing job. Fernando is punctual, kind, affordable, and most importantly, a talented and meticulous painter. The condo looks flawless. Fernando went above and beyond to make sure that everything looked perfect and even installed light fixtures and a bathroom cabinet. He also cleaned the condo as well and did a spectacular job. The condo looks fantastic and if I ever need painting or handyman work completed again, he is the only person I will call. I highly recommend J Oliveira Design Build to anybody looking for their home or business to be painted and/or cleaned.
I'm beyond thrilled with Elizabeth's talents, deep knowledge and work ethos. I hired her to help with a truly massive whole house remodel after a fire, including kitchen, bathroom, bedrooms, all lighting fixtures, wall and window treatments and tough rug decisions. I had a million ideas and literally over 1,000 pictures pinned on Pinterest. Elizabeth helped me sort through and settle on what was best. She also brought her own ideas to some key spots such as gorgeous antique sconces for the living room. Lastly, she gave a huge amount of on-site guidance to the contractor, including designing a complex closet, and even running to Lowes herself to grab marble shelves when the contracted deliverables didn't work out. Plus, when needed, she supplied her own subcontractors including an expert high-end wallpaper installer, a great upholsterer, and even a handyman who helped me unpack, hang art and move back in. Elizabeth is one of the most organized people I've ever met. She used spreadsheets to keep track of projects and supplied electricians with long, ever-updated punch lists. She was willing to get up insanely early in the morning to meet subcontractors at the house. And she rolled up her sleeves to help haul cardboard boxes out to the trash pile. Many designers I talked to only want to give your their vision for a project. Elizabeth respected and even I think enjoyed that I had a vision of my own, and worked night and say for several months to make it a reality. She also kept me from making several design mistakes that I was too inexperienced to see on my own. I strongly recommend her.
Clifford did an awesome job redoing my bathroom...worked really quickly and completed the job faster then originally thought. I will definitely be having him do more work in my home! Thank you cliff!!!!
I worked with Avatar Construction on a multiple projects. I find them very professional and knowledgeable. They make sure that they address all of your preferences and concerns during the design phase, so there is no surprises during construction. They delivered what was promised and that is the most value to me. I would highly recommend to give them a call.
Lina did a wonderful job designing our bathroom. We love the tile choice and the overall design. We would definitely use her again!
Reattached my dryer vent so that the dryer could work properly. Ronnie was very professional and was able to schedule with me right away and showed up right on time.
January 27, 2015 Heidi helped us with designing and decorating my living room area and the upstairs wall space. This project encompassed purchasing products and furniture, supervising the installation, and making the finishing touches. Heidi is incredibly talented at pulling the space together and executing on the home owners vision. She is incredibly thorough and creative- we had several art pieces that did not fit in standard frames and custom frames would have taken too long and expensive. She created borders with different color to create a dual border frames and the art and photos look amazing. Another thing that impressed me about Heidi is her ability to recommend various items at different price points and recommending where I should spend a little extra for quality vs. where I dont have. The finished living room area and the walls look amazing and we highly recommend Heidi. We will definitely be making personal recommendations to our friends and family if and when they need this type of service. Kristie F.
I had a great experience working with Russell. I decided last-minute that I wanted help connecting my new sink following a counter install in lieu of waiting for my handy uncle who was out-of-town to return a week later. Russell was quick to respond to my post, and was very friendly and professional. We agreed on a time for the next morning, and he showed up right on-time. Russell did great work installing my stainer basket, re-routing the PVC piping, and connecting my faucet. The job was finished in an hour. He was great about asking questions to consider what I was planning to do with the sink in the future (dishwasher, garbage disposal) so set up the piping best for the long-run. I'd highly recommend his services, and will use him again when in-need!
True professionals are as good as gold! I put off remodeling my home for years because I dreaded the hassle of dealing with contractors and designers. When I finally committed to having the work done, I went through at least 8 General Contractors and designers to find the right fit. Each of these was either overly expensive, or had overbearing personalities, or sounded like used car salesmen.... Until I connected with Byron Cuhna and Co. Byron runs a family operated construction company that handles all size jobs. Byron came in and helped my wife and I work through the design of a large addition 26x24 on with a two car garage and bedrooms/bath above it, as well as another 15x15 family room on the opposite side of the house. Byron not only gave us great design ideas, he helped us add features that would be more cost effective and efficient. Byron and his son Eric were on the job from start to finish, and made the experience of living in "construction" much more bearable, and at a price affordable enough that I can still pay my children's college tuition next year. I highly recommend Byron Cuhna construction, I will update this review with final before and after pictures of my house. Carmelo
Good listener, and--perhaps even better--knowledgeable about the nuts and bolts of building. In my experience, people who know firsthand how things are put together, and how the design and construction worlds interact, make the best architects. Humberto is one of those people and he made a difference with our kitchen renovation, great attention to detail and more importantly to our budget. Highly recommended. Manuel Delgado Charlestown MA
Sarah has an amazing gift. We hired her several months ago, to guide us through a complete overhaul of our entire house, one room at a time. Initially, we had several designers come up with a concept so we could choose the best one, and hands-down, we chose Sarah because had the best design concept. After asking us questions, she was able to clearly articulate what it was that we wanted and the overall look we were going for. Working with her has been extremely easy. She communicates well, is thorough, detailed oriented, and overall has exceeded all of our expectations.
We hired Juliana, owner of Creative Interiors, on the recommendation from a person that we worked with. This person contracted with Juliana to redecorate the bedroom and living room in their home. They were thrilled with the results, and commented that Juliana did an exceptionally great job. When we renovated our home, Juliana and I went shopping for fabrics for new drapes for the house; new bed comforters; and fabrics for sofas and chairs that we wanted recovered. She is a wealth of information about decorating, and she brought us to shops that we would not have been familiar with without Juliana's help. We also went to an art gallery with her, and we bought a couple of prints and had them framed. Juliana was amazing with the help she gave us choosing frames that looked the best with the prints we chose. She put 100% into helping us redecorate our house. She came to our house and helped us hang the framed prints , explaining the lighting in the rooms and the pros and cons of putting the prints on certain walls. The results were beautiful because of Juliana. Another thing that we really appreciated about her is that she taught us so much about decorating. She explained everything to us as we shopped. No matter how many questions we had, Juliana always had the answers. Juliana is a kind and caring person. She is very easy to work with. She has unending amounts of patience, and accommodated all of our needs. Juliana never cancelled an appointment with us, she was always on time, and her help was invaluable. The characteristic in Juliana that we appreciate so much is her honesty. She never tried to persuade us to purchase anything we did not like. She insisted that we make the final decisions on all purchases. Juliana's words to us were: "At the end of the day, you live in the house and you have to be happy with it." We were happy when it was completed and we still are grateful that we met and worked with Creative Interiors.
I can't say enough about Maureen and her team! We recently sold our home and MLT Design Group was there for us through the whole process, They made great suggestions about what we needed to do to get our home in the best possible shape to sell it for the best price. They did excellent work and by the time they were finished we didn't want to leave!! They were professional, punctual, and went above and beyond throughout the job. Our 20 year old home looked brand new and when Maureen and her team finished staging it we couldn't believe the transformation. I highly recommend them!
Umberto helped to design my home several years ago. He was very professional and patient, as well as punctual in his deliverables. I was especially appreciative of his suggested changes to improve the design and functionality of my home.
Our house was a 1955 ranch-style house with 3 bedrooms, one bath, kitchen, and living/dining room that we moved into in 1995. We had been looking to add a second bathroom and had originally worked with an architect from NH to do a modest front and rear bump out to give us more room to fit in a second bathroom. This architect had to withdraw from the job and recommended David Kinsella of TBC. David initially made some modest changes to the plan that made sense. After some further discussion, in which my wife and I raised the possibility of a larger scale project to modernize the style of the house, David developed a plan that essentially rebuilt the house except for our previously remodeled kitchen and original foundation. This new plan converted our house into modern design with a more open floor plan, completely new roof line, loft space, re-finished basement (and the second bathroom). David was able to fit this into an only slightly expanded footprint in order to comply with town regulations. Throughout the process, David kept our budget in mind and would typically present different price options for us to choose from to allow us to come up with a reasonable comprise between price with style. In addition TBC worked with the town to make sure our design stayed within our zoning and conservation restrictions. After deciding to go ahead with the project, we interviewed several contractors and decided that TBC brought us the best value for our money and would also allow David to oversee the project as needed. We started the project in June 2011 and completed the project in May 2012. The project did take several months longer than expected, but did stay on budget. The major problem that occurred that delayed the project was that in the summer of 2011, the original subcontracted framers were being sent to other jobs by their boss even though TBC was told they would be coming to our job. Hence, instead of working full time on our job, they were working less than half time. Eventually TBC had to fire them and find a new contractor to step in. At the time we felt that TBC should have replaced them sooner, but perhaps this was difficult due to contractual obligations. (We also found this first group of framers were slobs who did not have much regard for the fact that we were still living in the house.) By the end of summer 2011, the house was not completely framed and roofed and number of rain storms (including hurricane Irene) slowed down progress further. In mid-October we were still living in the part of the house and we agreed at this point that we would move out to allow for a more efficient work flow. From this point construction generally proceeded ahead, except for a few delays do to weather and scheduling conflicts that arose for other subcontractors, no doubt due to the significant delay caused by the no-show framers. In the end the house is beautiful and works for us better than we could have imagined. While the house has not expanded much in terms of square feet, the open floor plan and high ceiling/roof line combined with increased natural lighting gives a much more expansive feeling inside. From the curb, the house has modern angular green metal roof with cedar siding and one has to look hard to find any resemblance to the original house. At the completion of of the project, TBC was very responsive to completing punch-list items and other minor issues that arose. While my wife and I certainly had stressful times during the renovation (and certainly did a lot of second guessing our decision to renovate rather than move), we always felt that David had a personal interest in getting the job done correctly and making sure that we were happy in the end. In that regard, David was very accessible by email or phone before, during, and after the work. In summary, David Kinsella provided the creativity to design a renovation plan that was truly transforming for our house and TBC was then able to see the plan through to successful completion.
We had an excellent experience with Stephanie Metz as architect of our house. She was considerate and patient throughout the process, which was important because we had input from several family members who will live there. She remained conscious of our goals and budget and managed to balance the two while providing us with a design everyone loved. I recommend her and would work with her again.
John Maciejowski is the ultimate, talented professional. We recently gutted and remodeled both a master and guest bathroom. John created the look we were going for and the bathrooms came out great. He listened to what we wanted, took us on store and factory tours to pick out the marble, granite, tile, fixtures, vanities and paint colors. Everything fits together so perfectly. We love the outcome. John is very detailed and follows through on everything. You would be wise to pick John for your next remodeling or refurbishing project. We have worked with John 2 other times to refurbish our living room and bedrooms. The furniture, artwork and overall color schemes have always come out first rate!!
Great design eye and friendly business style.
Gary and his crew was a pleasure to work with. We customized our matching wedding bands and just love them. They worked right within our budget and created something we know we'll enjoy for years to come. Thank you so much!
Justin was very pleasant and on time. He was excellent in suggesting design and materials for our stairs project. We did ask him to make a couple of adjustments to the original job, which he did in a timely fashion, and the project came out excellent overall.
