About

I am a new student of Dor Herskovits. My experience so far has been excellent. He has gone out of his way to try to accommodate my schedule, and meet me after work. He is very knowledgable and eager to share his knowledge. His lessons consist of theory, technique, rudiments and also getting down and playing the drums! The lesson is very well balanced. I am a Music teacher myself in the NYC public school system, so I am pretty good at recognizing someone will talent, who knows his stuff, and is a good teacher. Dor has it all and really seems to care! I highly recommend Dor Herskovits.

About

We were lucky enough to be introduced to Justin for weekly lessons for my 10 year old, and he is thrilled each week when Justin arrives. ( ALWAYS punctually, I might add!)My son is enthusiastic about his lessons, and he's progressed beautifully. Equally important, his love for music has been enriched by working with Justin. If you're looking for an engaging, responsible and all around amazing guy for drum lessons, Justin is your man. I wholeheartedly endorse him, and am delighted to have been introduced to him.

About

Kris has a way of making the material so easy to learn. Whenever I am stuck with a particular area, he breaks it down and we work on all of the parts together. Soon enough, it all comes together! I have learned A LOT since I first started taking drum lessons at The Drummers' Studio. I drive about 40 minutes after a long day of work to my drum lesson, and it is worth it every single time! I really can't say enough great things about The Drummers' Studio, a truly excellent experience that will leave you with great knowledge and skills.

About

Both my daughter and I (13 and 41) have taken drum lessons from Sean and have both had great experiences. Sean is comfortable for anyone to work with. He listens to what you would like to learn without forcing his own agenda, yet he helps you establish the groundwork to get started. He has an impressive array of musical knowledge as well as an uncanny ability to hear music you would like to work on and be able to play/teach it within seconds. He is flexible and fun and best of all was the most reasonably priced instructor in the area. I would highly recommend him.

About

My oldest son started drum lessons with JD over 10 years ago and successfully Played throughout HS in Selected Bands, Jazz bands and Marching band. When is was time for my middle son to play I had no question where to go. JD is patient and knows how to bring out the best in his students. My almost 25 year old has a life long love of music due in part to his time at JD Drums. And I'm excited that my other boys will have that too.

About

Steve has been great over the last 4 and half years with my son and his drum lessons. They have a great relationship and respect for each other. Steve arranged his first live show just under 2 years ago and that has been the spark that has really made a big difference in my son confidence. I'm a parent so I don't take lessons but I can vouch Steve is a great resource for anyone serious about drums.

About

I teach drum lessons at my personal studio in Brighton, MA, using all of my professional equipment, which includes two drum sets, percussion and a PA system to play along with your favorite tracks. As an educator, I have been teaching drums, percussion and music theory for about 10 years to a very large number of students (all ages, ranging from 4 to 65 years old) in Massachusetts and Italy, including all levels, from beginner to advanced. I taught at several private music schools as well as privately at my personal studios. While teaching drums, I encourage passion for music and introduce many topics related to different musical genres, techniques, learning or improving reading, music theory, improvisation and creativity development, and musical concepts. I also enjoy sharing my experiences as a professional musician. Through my experience, I created a method based on developing the natural skills of the student. Classes are focused on specific goals and building a personal program for each student based on his or her capabilities, environment and commitment. One of the most important objectives is to achieve all of this in a way that both the student and instructor can enjoy and have fun during the process. Bio I was born in Italy and started my musical studies on drums at the age of 6 years old. I graduated from both Berklee College of Music in Boston as a recipient of several scholarships based on merit and the Italian conservatory of music, N. Piccinni in Bari, studying performance on drums, percussion instruments, composition and piano. I am very active both as a performer and an educator. I have an extensive international performance experience in many styles of music, ranging from pop, jazz and world music to classical and symphonic music, from orchestras to small ensembles and solo performances. Some of the venues I performed at are the following: Newport Jazz Festival (RI, USA), Panama Jazz Festival (Panama City, Panama), "Les journee de la percussion" at Conservatoire Superieur de Paris (France), Berklee Performance Center (MA, USA), Festival Duni (Matera, Italy), Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum and Northeastern University (Boston, MA), among many others. TV appearances and radio programs include Spanish TVE LA2, "Entre Dos Aguas," a documentary produced by seven-time Latin Grammy Award winner, Javier Limon; "Boston Strong" video campaign on NECN, Fox 25 (USA); "The New Edge" radio program on WMBR 88.1 FM Cambridge public radio (USA), as well as several appearances on different Italian TV channels. I recorded several albums, covering a wide diversity of music genres, ranging from jazz to pop, rock and world music, both as a leader and a sideman. Please visit my website for more information. Some of the awards I received include Berklee International Grant, outstanding scholarships, Dean's list and the "James David Harber Award" for major contribution to the Performance Division and Percussion Department at Berklee College of music; "Movin' Up" Young Italian Artists and Umbria Jazz (Italy).

About

Sander was easy to work with, easy to understand, and flexible as an instructor. He was very patient, reviewed the lessons, and provided constructive criticism with good suggestions. I feel like I progressed much faster with him than I did with other instructors, but at the same time I was able to work at my own pace and he was willing to work with me and plan around my schedule. The only suggestion I have is the practice space could be bigger. He is an affable person and makes you feel comfortable which helps the process of learning something complex like drums, easy and fun!
