What is the best waterproof flooring for a basement?

There are several great options for waterproof basement flooring. For example, epoxy floors are waterproof but are thicker and sturdier than paint. Make sure the concrete substrate has been prepared for application. 

Tile is a designer’s dream, giving you a moisture-resistant surface that’s infinitely customizable. Rubber sheets or tiles are also good waterproof options, particularly for playrooms, workout areas or laundry rooms. 

Vinyl tiles and planks imitate wood or other materials very convincingly, provide moisture resistance and last a long time. And sheet vinyl is affordable and a great waterproofing solution for those in need of quick fixes.

I hired Black Diamond to repair the former icebox in my basement. My home, which is a 1920s rowhome, is a flip. The flippers simply drywalled the walls and tried to play it off like a bonus room. Sure enough, the bonus room is flop - moist, chilly, and utterly different than the rest of the basement. I hired Black Diamond to make the entire basement feel like a more cohesive space and they did exactly that. BD was the fourth contractor that I contracted - I was tired of all the back and forth. BD was straight-forward, fair, and fast. I wanted the work done before Thanksgiving - Not a problem. I wanted an additional area framed out - Not a problem. I wanted a transparent experience - Thankfully, not a problem. The job is done, more than a week before thanksgiving, and my basement looks like one well-thought out space. I would definitely recommend them.

I had ceiling tile added to my basement. I wish that Daniel had the foresight to come out to look at the job and supplies before he planned to start. He ended up needing different and additional materials than the ones I purchased. His workers assessed that leveling work was needed. These changes added on $500 in labor expenses. The work was good, however he was not always responsive or available due to “being sick and throwing up”. I might suggest that black diamond put some more effort and resources into customer service- I didn’t feel treated like a customer paying for a service... when I compare him to other contractors we’ve worked with. The finished product looks good, but one of my pet peeves is changing prices.
