I was looking for an artist to do a nice piece of my dear friend and her fiancé as a wedding gift.. I originally hired someone else and he canceled on me! I was so stressed..I really needed this done as the wedding was this past Saturday 8-8-2015 and he canceled on me Tuesday 8-4-2015 so needless to say I would have been screwed.. I came across Thumbtack not really sure how it worked TBH.. but was contacted by several artists who said they were ready to assist me... Laura was the one I chose based on my instinct.. I looked at her picture.. browsed through her art work and reviews..something about her felt warm..that she cared about her work..and wanted her clients to be happy.. So I hired her! I'm so happy I did... She swooped in and picked up the pieces..She completed the portrait in 2 days! She is so professional! I would definitely recommend her service.. She is a sweetheart! 😍😍 5 stars!

LaToya was our face painter for our school's summer carnival. The students loved her! No cartoon character or super hero face was to challenging for her! We will definitely be having her back this fall. Thanks again LaToya!

I have always liked the idea of painting but often I get discouraged because it does not come natural to me. However, after taking Michelle's art class, I found myself signing up for more classes. She has a professional but carefree teaching approach that allowed me to take the pressure off. I enjoyed learning different techniques and learning how to add my personality to my artwork. It is a wonderful way to disengage from the hustle of the work week.

I came upon Stephen Estrada’s paintings through his exhibition the at Delaplaine Visual Art Center in Frederick MD. His striking, mural sized sea paintings made me feel like I was there. I purchased one of his large pieces for my apartment in NYC where it is prominently displayed. Stephen delivered and installed the painting himself and was great in putting me in touch with a lighting expert so I could properly light the painting. He was great to work with, communicated well, and his creativity and professionalism is outstanding. I highly recommend Stephen to anyone looking to commission a high quality mural or work of art.

My children attended an art camp under Leslie's instruction. Both went in a bit cautious as artists but eager to learn. We were amazed by the progress they made artistically in one short week - and by the confidence they each gained in their abilities and ideas. They each have a framed canvas hanging at home - my daughter has 2! - and they were nearly as excited at learning framing techniques as they were with producing the art. For what my children brought home in materials and finished art work, the class was very reasonably priced. I HIGHLY recommend Leslie's art classes and would happily enroll my children again.

Nina taught a number of drawing, painting, and sculpture classes for my homeschooling group. Since our children were different ages, she planned a lesson for the older or more capable students as well as one for the younger students, and in that way she was able to accommodate several different age groups with the help of a supervising parent. Nina's thoughtful suggestions to each student brought out individual abilities, besides the basic skills that she addressed. She was particularly adept at bringing self-conscious and reluctant students into the art arena.

I was a student of Jillian's at Harford Community College this past summer. It was a 5 week course devoted to the artists and artworks created during the European Renaissance. The class was asked to look at the artwork in such a way as to understand the art itself and the artist's intentions for creating the artwork. Jillian asked that the class participate in a discussion of the artworks in addition to her providing the class with insights as to how the artists changed the creative world and the everyday world around them. Jillian was on time, knowledgeable, fun and full of interesting facts about the artist and their works. I would highly recommend Jillian for any teaching, or art project. I came away from the course with a new appreciation and understanding of the artwork of the Renaissance period and will use the Liberatory Critique method (explained to us in Jillian's class) to analyze art in the future. Very high marks for Jillian and her instructions method.

About

I am extremely well trained technically, and I really care about people. Many of the people I have worked with started by telling me they "couldn't draw", or were "bad at art." I believe everyone is an artist, its just a matter of looking at something, a drawing, a sculpture, whatever it is, with the right eyes and the right mind set.

Michael's work has also been published in American Artist (March '91) and many art other related publications. Michael has just completed his first book of his paintings about jazz and food entitled, "My Favorite Things". The book is a collection of quotations from art critics, jazz personalities, leaders in the culinary industry and more importantly, friends and people who enjoy his work. The quotes are a sensitive integration of words interspersed over his paintings, making for a perfect match of harmony of quotes and the power and magic of art. His most current series is entitled, "The Chocolate Hip Hop". It is this artist's journey into the generational world of hip hop using the wonders and sensational mood altering and mysteries and power of chocolate as a visual metaphor in design and visual consciousness.
