Chef Kevin is amazing. I hosted a small 20-person happy hour last week- he was able to create a menu of finger foods and deliver quickly, he accommodated our dietary needs, vegetarian, some gluten- free, etc. he was on time for delivery, and even brought me all of the servingware (and table cloths I could need-- I didn't even ask him for it. He'd thought of everything)! Most of all though, people loved the food- it was beautiful, colorful, delicious and fresh. He has a new repeat customer!
Chef Serge and Aaron are an exceptional team. Our Memorial Day grill / pool party was fueled by chef’s outstanding food, service, and conversation. I’m not sure we can have another large party without the expertise of Chef Serge! Highly recommend he and his team for your next outing. We are already planning ours. We hired Chef Matt to come to our home to celebrate my sister-in-law's birthday, we were a group of 7 and it was a surprise for the birthday girl. Matt and his assistant Melanie arrived on time and dressed in chef coats with all of their supplies. The timeline he presented to me in advance was met spot on. We enjoyed incredible appetizers as we waited for the guest of honor to arrive then we all sat down to a 5-course meal. Both Melanie and Matt served and cleared the plates. Matt presented each dish and its ingredients. The food was so delicious and unique, plate presentation was beautiful. Melanie offered wine service throughout the meal and the final dessert dish was outstanding. Our entire meal was also gluten free! By the time we finished dessert the kitchen was cleaned up with leftovers in the fridge. This was a first time experience for all of us to hire a private chef and we will all do it again and look forward to hiring Matt & Melanie again in the future.
We had the honor and blessing of celebrating my parent's 50th Wedding Anniversary and wanted it to be nothing but 5-Star quality from start to finish and with Sweet Bazil, LLC, we got just that. Chef Karida and her staff were both professional and friendly from the first phone call to the clean-up check. I was hesitant about using a caterer on-line but I stepped out on faith and it was the best decision made. I was very impressed with Sweet Bazil's website and thought I would love to have that type of set-up for our event. After the first phone call, she sent me a menu to choose from and it was such a hard decision! Everything seemed delectable! However, I chose the chicken with mushroom sauce and maple glazed salmon... EVERYONE cleaned their plates! Even my picky-eating brother! LOL! Our guests are still talking about the first-class food presentation and just how tasty everything was. Some even asked for the recipe! LOL! Chef Karida has gotten quite the buzz from our event and she is deserving of every praise. I've learned, you can put your best foot forward in setting up any event, however, if the food isn't right... that is all people are going to remember. So, I say 'Thank you, Sweet Bazil' for making our event much more special for our parents. You will be hearing from us soon.
We hired Wolfmoon for our wedding rehearsal dinner. They made gluten free lasagna, bread, salad and dessert. Everything was AMAZING! Chef Brett was very friendly and professional. We had him make extra lasagna for us, so that we could freeze it and keep it for ourselves for months to come! I will certainly call Chef Brett any time I need catering!
Must try the afghan platter and Boulanee baunjaun. Both were a hit at my work party! Nasrin was able to accommodate for gluten free and vegetarians dishes nicely too. I would reccomend again as a caterer.
Chef Matt is absolutely amazing! I have been using his personal chef services and I can honestly say that he has been a blessing in our life. I first learned about Chef Matt on an online community of moms in Old Town, Alexandria. Because I had a small baby and no time to cook, I decided to order our Thanksgiving meal from him. I was so happy I did – the food was absolutely fantastic and everyone at the dinner table raved about it. In fact, it was the best Thanksgiving meal that I have ever had. Since then I have been ordering from him on a regular basis. Chef Matt’s food is fresh, healthy and out-of-this-world delicious. His recipes are very diverse and incorporate a lot of international influences, which I love. Everyone in my home is so excited when we get the food from Chef Matt. I wish I knew about him long time ago, especially after we had our baby and struggled with finding the time to cook. I know that he teaches cooking classes and I hope that one day I will have the opportunity to learn how to cook amazing food directly from Chef Matt. I wholeheartedly recommend him to anyone looking for personal chef services!
Chef Giovanni is not only a creative and dynamic chef, he is also a warm person. I was so relieved to welcome Chef Giovanni at my house for my dinner party, he put me at ease with his calm demeanor and ideas. We had been exchanging emails and texts the week prior to the event, he was responsive unlike other chefs I had worked with in the past. Chef had also been tasked to provide a meal for a pescatarian, gluten-free guest, and a no shell fish guest. When Chef arrived, he took several inexpensive bouquets from Trader Joes and transformed them into stunning centerpieces for my dining room table. The entire dining room morphed into a chic bistro that looked like it should have been in the south of France as opposed to Maryland. Once the first guest arrived, the smell of bouillabaisse was permeating the house and the guests were excited by the aroma but also the drinks and amuse-boushe Chef had prepared for their arrival. The amuse-boushe was phyllo dough stuffed with spiced lamb. It was crunchy on the outside with flavors of raisins, spices and lamb on the inside. This was an exceptional way to start our culinary journey! Once the guests were seated and wine was poured, the appetizer was served. It was not my favorite combination of flavors but others seem to enjoy it. Next the main course, the bouillabaisse was served. I was stunned to see how beautiful the bouillabaisse was prepared; with cilantro and lime on top and was chocked full of lobster, crab, scallops, fish. My guests were asking him for the recipe for the rue and the steps to making such an intriguing meal. The dessert was also nicely done, my guests really enjoyed the presentation and the taste. Chef Giovanni talked about what he made, helped serve the guests. He also helped pour the wine and kept the night flowing. Chef Giovanni also left me with a spotless kitchen which was the perfect end to a perfect night. I am a customer very happy with a first-time experiment with inviting a chef into my home. I think it is a great way to entertain without breaking the bank. When you consider how much time and preparation that goes into an evening like this, I feel that Chef Giovanni provides quality ingredients and exceptional service for a reasonable rate.
Awesome! Ashanti is great at what she does. She is professional and has a great personality and spirit. I was very comfortable welcoming her into my home to cook for my family and I. Most importantly, her food is delectable. I look forward to her services again in the near future. I've already referred her to others.
Chef Anna did an incredible job catering a wonderful culinary experience in my home for 25 friends. We had some dietary restrictions such as dairy free and gluten free and she curated a delicious menu that satisfied everyone's needs. She was also a pleasure to work with throughout the process - responsive, creative, and extremely professional. I look forward to working with her again.
I hired Michal for a very special private dinner party. We wanted delicate and delicious foods and a classy experience. Michal more than exceeded our expectations. In particular, we had quite the list of food restrictions: no gluten, limited sugar, and fish only. Without batting an eye, he was up for the challenge and devised some incredible creations. Then, at the last minute, we said "no dairy." And, he was quick and nimble to change up course for all of our needs. Then, and oh-my-gosh then, he created a dairy free dessert. I could NOT believe that the pear dessert was not dairy (seriously it was to die for). As far as logistics, he was also a gem of a guest. He arrived early and dressed crisp for the occasion. Prepped with all the food and utensils that he needed, he stayed in the zone in the kitchen, except of course when he was explaining all of the dishes to us, and blushing at our "oooohing" and "ahhhhing" during dinner. Once our final dish was presented, he cleaned and left us to enjoy the night. I couldn't recommend his service more. Michal is creative and thoughtful with every single ingredient. He cared for us like he was preparing for his family. He absolutely was a key ingredient to our fabulously memorable evening.
I cannot more highly recommend Vera, both for own knowledge and skills in preparing food, but also for her kind, encouraging manner in instructing a "novice" in the kitchen. When I was introduced to Vera, I had recently been diagnosed with celiac disease, which had necessitated a complete overhaul of my eating habits. That "lifestyle" change was complicated by the embarrassing reality that I had never really learned to cook in the first place. Just after we met, Vera invited me to attend a marvelous Capitol Hill social event, for which she had prepared some of the food. Knowing that I had to be gluten-free, she included a wonderful basket of Auntie Oyes Petite Rice Bread Muffins, made from rice flour (instead of wheat). They were a BIG hit at the party with everyone! When I told her I wanted to learn how to make those little muffins for myself, she invited me into her own kitchen, and graciously and patiently walked me through all of the steps to prepare her wonderful recipe.
I participated in the Hula to Health workshop several weeks ago, and I absolutely loved it! I learned so much about hula dancing, I got a great workout, and made a delicious meal with new friends. I never knew that a vegetarian, gluten-free meal could be so delicious and full of protein! Judy's teaching style is friendly, fun, and informative. I would love to take more of her classes in the future!
Elizaveta is a fabulous cook and makes every effort to meet complex dietary needs. Gluten free, low carb, picky 8-year olds . . . Eliza always came up with the right dishes to kept everyone happy!
Chef Helene has provided beautiful food for my family as well as for workshops and events I've hosted, and I am always delighted with her work! Her food is creative and simple, and of course, delicious!! She is so versatile, and can move effortlessly between creating healthy comfort food, upscale fine dining for dinner parties, interesting dishes that are a fusion of international cuisine, and of course, she specializes in a wide array of dietary needs ~ especially vegetarian, vegan, gluten free, and sugar free ~ all without including processed foods, too.
