Tona is an amazingly compassionate and dedicated instructor. She provides voice, violin, and piano lessons to my 3 children; with great flexibility to their varying interests and moods. They are developing a wonderful appreciation for music and the capacity to make their own. Tona is very talented, open, and dedicated to her profession. I would recommend her without reservation.

“It has been a great learning experience for my two daughters. I don’t think I could ever find a better piano teacher. Not only does Ms. Heather share her great talent with my kids, she is also very friendly and always cheerful and looking forward to teaching them. My daughters have improved dramatically since we started with her a few years ago. We also really enjoy the convenience of in home lessons! I highly recommend Lessons In Your Home for music lessons. Ben is a phenomenal piano and voice teacher. He is very enthusiastic about music. His energy for teaching and music helped me tremendously. I have been taking piano lessons for a few years before I met Ben few summers ago. And I started loosing interest and only agreed to one or two more piano lessons with a new teacher that my mom’s friend recommended. But, when I started taking Ben’s piano lessons during the last couple of summers, he reenergized me for learning and playing on piano. His energetic personality is very addicting and it helped me to learn how to play the music I wanted to play and he also would introduce to me something new at most of the lessons, making the lessons very exciting. He learned my style of learning and adapted his method to it. I took a Voice lesson with Ben over Skype a few days ago, and I learned a lot and improved singing the song that I am planning to sing at an event at my school. This song happened to be the song Ben asked me to play with him on piano during the last lesson in August. I would strongly recommend Ben’s teaching to anyone who wants to play piano and sing well regardless of their age! And the last lesson proved that he can teach voice and singing over the Internet/Skype and perhaps piano as well. Thank you Ben for your encouragement and teaching me piano and vocal!! Claire (11 years old )

My daughter has been taking lessons with Carly for a year (after 4.5 year with a different teacher). Carly is a friendly, patient, and thoughtful teacher. She encourages my daughter to learn a variety of music styles and to attempt challenging pieces. My daughter especially enjoys playing duets with Carly because she feels this teaching method helps her work on her timing. Carly is a great violin teacher!

Our son has attended one violin lesson so far. Joanna determined a problem with his finger positioning on the strings immediately and showed him how to fix it right away. The homework she has given my son has kept his interest. He already seems more motivated. We will see how things go as we proceed, but we are pleased so far.

My son loved Amy's teaching style and personality from the first minute! His interest in learning to play the piano only increased once he started because Amy makes it so much for for him! We had a choice of several excellent teachers through Thumbtack. I regret that we could only pick one because they all appear to be great, but Amy was the perfect choice for our son and we couldn't be happier!

I found Victor here on this website for a guitar teacher for my son and when it came down to needing to hire a teacher Victor had followed up with me. So I took advantage of the first free lesson and he's been my sons guitar teacher ever since. Victor is very patient and knowledgeable, the personal attention and care he gives to each individual child is wonderful. You can tell that he has a love for music and this is his passion. I've spoken to other families that he teaches(some for several years) and they all agree. He works well with my son on incorporating styles and songs he is interested in as well as teaching music theory and basics. My son was a beginner 6 months ago and now he is playing full songs confidently. He loves coming to guitar class and learning new techniques, and songs. I plan on continuing until my son can pay for lessons himself. I highly recommend Victor Crisen.

Janet was our son's violin teacher for 8 years. She was fantastic! She really catered to his interests. She is a patient and encouraging teacher. She kept him interested and challenged. She was very supportive of his concerts and Solo Ensemble - attending if she was available. He continues to play in college. She held intimate recitals in her home which were a great experience for the students. Thanks, Janet!

As an adult student with no music experience, I think that Christine does a good job breaking down the basics into something that can be easily followed. She is patient and will work to accommodate busy adult schedules. She recommended the Samuel Applebaum String Builder book; which I really like as it teaches the basic hand position along with the associated notes. Rather than learning to play by listening then learning the notes. Again she can tailor her lessons based on children or adults learning abilities.

Kim is a fabulous violin instructor. As an educator myself, I tend to be more critical of the professionals who teach my children. Kim speaks to them at as mature students, sets her expectations with care and obvious knowledge (for example, she told them that she was excited to find their areas for because that meant that they had good things to focus on and work together, rather than chastising them for failing) and encourages them to take ownership of their musicianship. She also spoke well of their previous teachers, highlighting what they learned well from them, and also highlighting her differences and then discussing why she does things the way she does. I find this to be incredibly professional, as we have had other instructors who did exactly the opposite, and in the process undermined my children's confidence in the work that they had done elsewhere. She re-ordered her schedule to accommodate having both girls the same night, and has been responsive to any and all questions they or I have. I would recommend her without hesitation, and am so thankful to have found her!
