FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My lessons rates are competitive for my area, reasonable, and for many remote students a better price than they can find locally. I encourage students to pay for lessons monthly, there is a $20 discount if you pay for four lessons in advance.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I like to have a conversation and discuss what the student may wish to focus on, which genres of music and artists inspire them and what some of their musical background and goals may be. From the first lesson I aim to provide the student with the information they need to make the next steps for them, and utilize music the enjoy to learn and practice the techniques.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a B.F.A in Classical Guitar from Ithaca College School of Music and I have been a working, performing, recording and touring musician and private guitar and ukulele teacher for many years. In addition to teaching private lessons for students of all ages I also teach bands at Hickey's Rock School. I have experience in many genres and styles of guitar playing.
