Alec does so well with my daughter. She sometimes likes to try and do her own thing and instead of pushing her to always focus, which isn't always an easy task for a child, he'll at times encourage her free play to get it out and then she's back to wanting to learn. She very much enjoys going because he makes it a fun learning experience. She sounds better each time going so the improvement is astounding. I really appreciate how good Alec is with her and I've already recommended this place to friends based simply on how incredible he is.

My 11-year-old daughter had taken guitar & piano lessons from Michael over the course of 2 years. He was very flexible with times & even locations for the lessons.....a studio in Ypsilanti, a music room at a nearby music store....or your own home. Michael is old school & understands Music at all levels & as such, communicates with young kids very well. Michael is also a very patient instructor, which he had to be with my daughter. I highly recommend Michael as an instructor to any one.....no problem.

Joe is teaching me the guitar. I am 26 with almost no prior knowledge, and he is very patient and understanding. He quickly helped me develop my interests and is making sure that I get exactly what I want out of the lessons. He seems very eager to help me and I am very much looking forward to our upcoming lessons!

The AAMC has been A2's home for budding musicians since 1998. We offer private lessons in guitar, bass, drums, piano/keyboard, voice, saxophone, flute, clarinet, ukulele, violin, viola, cello, double bass, rock band classes, jazz band and blues band classes and summer day camps for kids ages 8-16. We offer lessons 7 days, year-round from experienced, enthusiastic, and creative teachers. Our instructors are not only accomplished players but skillful teachers. Every instructor we employ has been through our rigorous screening to ensure that every lesson is both geared for the student's learning style but is also steeped in the fundamentals of music. Our students are of all ages with the common goal of achievement. Our students learn to speak the universal language of music and are coached in the application of the skills and concepts that make a well-rounded musician.

My mission is to instill a joy of music-making in each of my students and encourage them to share music with others. I am a creative Suzuki violin teacher. I currently teach ages 3-16. I teach at the Community Music School of Ann Arbor located close to downtown, but can also meet students at my home on the west side of Ann Arbor, close to Dexter. I charge $35.00/half an hour. In addition to private lessons, my students can choose to be a part of the Caring Clown Kids, a group of clown violinists that visits people in need of a smile. I also offer a group class for private students in the school year, and we meet at Cobblestone Market on Tuesdays in the summer.
