I recently started taking guitar lessons with Josh and it's been a great experience. He is flexible with both your learning style and schedule. In the past I have had difficulty finding a good teacher, but I would recommend Josh to anyone, and he's inspired me to start piano as well. Thanks!

I have a family of five and we all take lessons from Gallagher's music. My three boys and myself take guitar lessons and my wife and the three boys take piano as well. They are the best hands down. We been everywhere for music teachers and Gallagher's is fantastic.

My son had never had drum lessons before so he was pretty bad at first. We can definitely tell the difference over the past 2 months when he is down stairs practicing. Scott is very patient and my son really enjoys his lessons.

My daughter has been taking lessons for six months with Adam and I can’t believe the leaps and bounds she has made in the lessons she received thus far. He is talented and also patient with my daughter. We enjoy having him.

My 12-year-old daughter had been wanting a guitar for a while, so I got her one for her birthday. After a couple days of watching online videos about how to play, she seemed to lose interest. I guess it was too complicated, or boring, for her. I decided to try to find her a teacher, which is how Brian became my daughter’s guitar teacher. This has turned out to be the best decision. Brian’s teaching techniques are excellent. He knew right away how to keep my daughter interested in playing, without her getting bored. From the very beginning he started teaching her to play her favorite song. That made a big difference in my daughter’s motivation to practice. To my great surprise, she started to practice on her own at least one hour every day. Brian integrates guitar playing techniques (which can get boring) with playing songs, both at the same time. I think this is an excellent approach, especially for kids. My daughter now looks forward to every lesson. Communication with Brian is wonderful: he is never late, and if something does come up, he always notifies me well in advance. Lessons normally last 30 minutes, but if Brian sees that my daughter needs a little more time, he always stays longer to make sure that she understood everything in the lesson for that day. Margarita

Had my first guitar lesson with Bob today. Have tried learning on my own in the past using books and guitar tabs online, but a good teacher makes all the difference. In one session, he taught me a ton and got me fired up for what I may eventually be able to get these stiff old fingers to do. I’ve never been so excited to do homework.

Ken began playing the guitar about 25 years ago. He has found himself in just about every musical situation conceivable. He maintains a busy schedule of teaching, recording and live dates. He performs and composes with his jazz/fusion trio, Slice of Pi, which is currently recording a follow-up to their debut CD. He also performs with rock group Merge. Over the years, Ken has performed with a wide range of artists and bands. He has also been involved in studio recording projects and commercial music and has written guitar method books, addressing improvisation and theory for the guitar. Ken frequently hosts clinics, demonstrating technique and theory. He studied jazz and classical guitar at Wayne State University and theory and composition at Oakland University. Ken studied under acclaimed guitar legends Joe Fava and Paul Abler. Currently, Ken teaches theory and guitar instruction privately. Some of his many influences include jazz, fusion, rock, funk, classical, progressive, and world music. Several notable musicians were key in Ken's development such as John Coltrane, J.S. Bach, Shawn Lane, Frank Zappa, Joe Satriani, Jimi Hendrix, Eddie Van Halen, and Miles Davis. Ken is a reputable guitar instructor, college educated, and professional musician. He has made teaching and performing music not only as a passion, but also as a career.

I provide lessons for students that range from beginner to advanced levels. I travel to you, as long as you own the instrument you are planning to study. I can assist students in reading, understanding theory, and even writing their own musical scores! Every lesson is personalized for that particular student and, if desired, can be geared in any direction they so choose --recording, theory, song choice, electronic additions, producing, etc. I am very open to adjusting my lesson plan to fit your personal style. As for myself, I have been playing piano and guitar for the longest, but I consider myself a drummer at heart. I have played with many live acts, released a number of recorded albums (some solo and some with groups), and most recently, I've been playing with the touring act, Stikyfut, as their drummer/backup vocalist. Music has taught me so much. It has led me to many adventures, introduced me to so many interesting people, and caused me to think introspectively about my life and the world that I can hand over to future generations. Hopefully, through providing lessons to students now, I can pass along the same love and excitement I have for music to these kids. My rates are $25/half hour lesson and $45/hour lesson.

I help beginning guitar students discover the sense of musicality within themselves and promote their ability to communicate it through what they play. Additionally, I offer Reading/writing services for those students struggling with English. Language is our most common tool for engaging with the world, and by exploring it through their particular interests, I believe everyone can learn to master it effectively.

If your reading this chances are you are interested in learning to play guitar, which is fantastic! But beware, choosing the wrong teacher to study with will be detrimental to your progress as a musician. Many instructors tend to use a "responsive" teaching method, which will eventually bring you to a dead end in your progress. We find that using a "proactive" method pushes our students (which could be you!) to excel at a rapid pace. In order to achieve this we first find out what the student hopes to achieve as a guitar/bass player, and then create a structured lesson plan to help get them there. The goal here is to make you the best guitarist you can be, and to make sure you have a great time doing it!
