Michelle is SO WORTH IT! Every time I come in we discuss goals, how I’m improving and in two weeks there has already been a noticeable difference in how my body is going from Pillsberry dough boy to being the terminator. Well it’s not that drastic but you get my point. Michelle is so easy to get along with and flexible with my schedule. (She kinda has to be, she teaches yoga) lol. But seriously, she’s awesome. Pick her as your trainer. DO IT!
Jessica is an amazing trainer. When I began training with Jess almost 3 years ago I was a year out from having twins. I learned early on from Jess that that inches come off faster than the pounds. After 4 months I was down 10lbs and that didn't seem like a lot but I lost 27inches and went from a size 12 to a size 6. With monthly measurements you can see and feel that you are achieving a goal and that building muscle does not mean bulking up if done right! As time progressed and I built more muscle, literally one day the pounds just flew off (20+ lbs lost). I stated when we met that I would never be able to do a sit up. I have since blown that out of the water and run numerous 5k's, 10k's, and 3 half marathons! The last being Big Sur, my dream! I also had a very high and erratic heart rate. After 3 years my heart rate has improved and is 30-40 beats lower while running. I now understand the need for a personal trainer. She pushes me beyond what I would make myself do. However, Jess will also listen as I have chronic IT Band issues. She understands when I say that I need to back down on something (as I never back down). Jess is an amazing trainer who will teach you new things about yourself and introduce you to new workouts you may not think of (TRX, Yoga, Boxing, how to use paper plates in a workout if you don't have equipment). She is truly amazing and most importantly we work as a team to achieve goals together! It speaks volumes that now my mother has come to understand why I use a trainer. My mother has now taken up strength training and yoga with Jess at the age of 62!
Poppy is totally warm and welcoming and sweet. I met with her when I had never done yoga before and was considering private lessons. She even taught me some basic yoga breathing. I couldn’t afford private lessons in the end, but anyone whose business hires her is very lucky! She also offers some type of recharging/recentering/energy work session (I don’t remember how to describe it) but I was very interested and still may do it in the future. I don’t even want to pay for full price yoga classes so I should expect not to be able to afford private classes. But I am sure the classes for businesses are well worth it!
I've been working with Andrea for several months and have a plan in place for the entire year. I expect to continue working with her indefinitely. She is phenomenal in three distinct ways: 1. she is an expert in what she does. Andrea draws on years of experience with athletes as well as her own creatiivty to make workouts that are varied, challenging, fun and explicitly tailored to skill level. 2. her approach is holistic: nutrition and diet play an instrumental role in fitness and Andrea helped me set up goals on My Fitness Pal and gives me feedback once a week on how I am doing. I have workouts for the entire week not just for our sessions together. She understands that mental stress also impacts physical fitness and encouraged me to incorporate yoga or meditation into my routine. Key to Andrea is to help you stretch but also listen to your body. 3. is attitude: Andrea is incredibly down to earth and invested in her clients' success. I haven't worked with other trainers but I was formerly a competitive runner and team captain, and I also interviewed many other trainers, so I have seen first hand that someone can have the intellectual knowledge but lack the coaching ability or holistic view of what it takes to meet your goals. Can't say enough wonderful things about Andrea. I'm getting stronger and feeling my best self working with her.
So excited for ongoing weekly yoga classes with Doris! She offered the first lesson free and it was AMAZING. Her routine struck a great balance between strength and stretching, with a wonderful guided meditation at the end. Doris arrived right on time, complete with an essential oil diffuser, customized playlist, and fun personality! I whole-heartedly recommend Yoga for Everyone (but not on Wednesday evenings; she's mine then!!).
I have attended Mary's restorative yoga class for several weeks. Her class has been great for me to learn the benefits of this type of yoga. She has been an awesome and supportive instructor that is all inclusive. I would reccomend Mary and all of her classes to anyone! Kara- Crysal, MN
I have been taking yoga classes at large corporate companies for several years, they provide the basics but not what I was looking for. Nicole at NALA provides a personal and customized yoga experience. Her energy is warm and sincere. I left her class feeling rejuvenated !!
Beginners Vinyasa Yoga. Paris has a very calming and soothing voice that makes each of the instructional moves and breaths very therapeutic and cathartic. She artistically integrates the moves so that it flows and each move compliments and/or builds off the other. Her pacing is perfect and if you have a difficult time keeping up she welcomes, comforts and continuously gently reminds you to move at your own pace and rest in child's pose if needed. She's good at spotting when a person needs a readjustment for positions. The 'all is as is' mantra and meditation in dead man's pose at the end is freakin' brilliant. Very fair pricing! Good job Paris!!
Danielle was amazing. She made us feel comfortable immediately. Very patient and helpful with "the newbies!"

Julia has 10 years of experience and practice with yoga. Her teaching style is intuitively inspired by the students needs, ranging from a strong vinyasa flow to slow, therapeutic structural work. She teaches with a playful spirit, encouraging students to find balance between challenge and a joyful exploration of practice. Her hope is to support students and teachers along this magical path of self-discovery, ecstatic awakening, and deep connection to sat guru, the true teacher within, through the beautiful teachings of yoga, with the hope of each student finding a more heightened awareness of their most true, divine nature. She is honored to be teaching in a time where students are so selflessly willing to challenge themselves in practice and is eternally grateful for the eclectic mix of teachers in her life and their infinite inspiration.
I provide yoga practice for students who wish to explore yoga, expand their practice or deepen their yoga philosophy on and off the mat. In addition, as a health coach, I provide one-on-one coaching to clients who wish to manage stress, live healthy, active lives and balance their life choices.
Health Coaches are knowledgeable advisors who provide ongoing support and guidance as you set goals and make sustainable changes that improve your health and happiness. As your Health Coach, I will listen carefully and help you to navigate the world of contradictory health advice to determine what changes are best for you. I practice an individualized, holistic approach to health and wellness, which means that I look at how all areas of your life are connected. This work is not about quick fixes or empty promises. It is about implementing ways to truly nourish yourself on all levels - not just through what's on your plate. I work with my clients to create a happy, healthy life in a way that is flexible, fun and rewarding. I love watching the excitement and sense of empowerment grow as clients go through my program and become their own best advocate for lifelong health and wellness.
Yoga means literally to "yoke" the connection between breath and body. It is a great first step in creating a healthier lifestyle as yoga brings greater body awareness, flexibility, and peace of mind. Yoga is a lifelong journey that is unique to each person and is applicable to life on and off the mat.
Class schedule in my Edina, MN home: * Tuesdays, 6:30-8:00 p.m. * Thursdays, 9:30-11:00 a.m. * Saturdays, 9:30 a.m. Private instruction is available. Call in advance to register for classes. These are the essentials about me: As a teacher, I help bring awareness to those areas of the body that are unconscious to each person. I give technical points as to how this body machine of ours works, but more importantly, I truly care about the human beings who have honored me by letting me into their lives. I get excited when they discover a breakthrough in their mind/body work. I see the perfect pose in everyone, yet I do not care at all about perfecting poses. The pose is a direction, a form that one's body moves toward. Your body is somewhere in that form it is not a form imposed on your body. That is why everybody can do my yoga. I gently guide and encourage you to move in a direction of opening your body and making it strong, so that it can open. This is a joyous process for me and the students. Trying to define my style in yoga is like trying to define me I will leave it to my students to describe their experience in my classes and retreats. I have taught yoga in the Twin Cities for over 30 years. I began studying hatha yoga and meditation 35 years ago when I was writing my master's thesis in philosophy. Disciples of Swami Rama and the Himalayan Institute constituted the yoga community in my area at that time. The focus was on breathing, meditation and a gentle soft style of hatha yoga. I studied exclusively with these people for seven years. When I realized I loved yoga and it was my purpose in life to be a yoga teacher, I began traveling around the world to take teacher training programs.
Yoga, the practice of unifying mind, body, spirit, is an ongoing practice. My practice seems to be unique to the Twin Cities area as I have practiced all over the world, however mostly in California and India. Yoga is my passion and has singlehandedly saved my quality of living for the better.
Yoga is for everyone not just people who can afford expensive classes. One on one yoga is a way to make up your own routine at your own speed. I love to see people's life change when they connect the mind and body.
I like getting to know people and their stories and help them on their path to wellness. As with any teaching, it is so fulfilling to see when someone starts to understand how the practice really impacts his or her body and mind.
I approach yoga as a way to get your mind in tune with your body is already capable of, with a non competitive, non perfection approach. Come as you are and enjoy the journey of getting in shape and being healthy. Being able to help people feel as if there is a bright outlook on managing and ridding themselves of unwanted pounds, mounting stress and chronic pain is what pushes me daily.
