"Just a quick note to comment on Beth and her nutrition response testing program.
I started seeing her 8 weeks ago, looking for help in understanding why I would have sudden onset of horrible cramping, seemingly unrelated to anything. I was checked for ovarian cancer, and had been seeing a GI practitioner who suggested a low fodmaps diet. At this point, I had pretty much given up dairy, but was still having occasional cramping.
After completing a questionnaire and an exam, Beth told me that I was sensitive to dairy, corn, sugar, whole grains and wheat, in that order. I started following a food plan which included meats, eggs, veggies, fruits, and nuts. By actively keeping track of what I ate, I found out the next day which foods were causing my cramps. I learned not to eat too much of certain foods, like fries. I found out that quinoa and rice caused upsets. A piece of bread made me sick.
I do not know how she does this, or why it works. By following the program, and sticking to foods that my body likes, I have no cramps. Over the past 8 weeks, I have lost 17 pounds, and am not hungry. My cravings for grains and sugar have greatly diminished. I find I can eat a little goat cheese; moderation is the key. The supplements she has me on are certainly helping with my digestion and my mood.
8 weeks ago i signed up for 12 sessions with Beth, just to see if ANYTHING could help me. At this point, I am leaner, happier, and have a better understanding of how what I eat affects directly my cramps or lack of. I have a plan for my life now, and know what I can safely eat.
Also, Beth really cares about me. She is super encouraging, has some great recipes and motivates me to keep this up.
I am in such a better place than I was. Thanks Beth. I do not understand everything you do, but I know from what my own body is telling me that you have some great knowledge that is helping me have a much happier life.
