I teach students of all ages, beginning to advanced, and all styles of playing. My lessons are anything but boring and are fast paced. Students will see results fast! I touch a lot on improvisation because in my mind, it is the best way to understand the instrument. It allows one to truly express one's self through the instrument. I also focus on: - Ear training - Technique - Theory - Sight reading - Performance skills and etiquette, etc. If the student knows exactly what they would like to learn, I am more than happy to focus on whatever that may be. For more information, feel free to visit my website. It contains my resume as well as links to multiple social networks, music, videos, and more!(show more)
I am a teacher who comes to you! When I decided to learn how to play the guitar, I had one goal in mind: to possess the ability to play and sing songs from my favorite records. I wanted to sound great, playing the guitar as fast as possible. I imagine that you or someone you love has something similar in mind. The most efficient way to start playing the guitar effectively (or to expand your skills) is to take lessons from someone who understands your goals, and has spent his life perfecting this craft. My simple goal has led me on a life-long musical journey, which has taken me from tinkering on the guitar in my bedroom as a teenager, to playing over 150 shows every year with my band, Soul Tree and sitting in with other bands around Minnesota. I began my professional musical training at Perpich Center for the Arts High School, followed by McNally Smith College of Music. Since 2007, I have been a private guitar instructor at St. Barnabas Center for the Arts. I've worked with students from ages 8 to adult. I can work with your needs, and schedule to find the best arrangement for private in-home lessons. Note: I offer package deals depending on travel distance. Please call or e-mail for details!(show more)
I instruct students on proper technique and form, basic and advanced chords, scales, playing by ear, playing with others, learning songs, barre chords, Chord proressions, rythem, lead guitar, multiple rythem pattrens/styles. Accoustic and electric guitar. Alternative, Rock, Classic Rock, Reggea, Skaw, Punk, Blues, a little blue grass and folk. other things I teach include: Learning and developing your own style. Writing and creating rifts and songs. Restringing your guitar properly. the many different ways to tune. I start first with Teaching my students the right way to play. What I mean by that is knowing your barre chords, your box chords, the names of your chords, the skales in the songs you want to play with and to, as well as teaching how to find the key in each song. It is very important to know the names of chords and where they are. For example: when your playing with other musicians, one might say "ok, this song is in the key of G" and if you know what that means then you are pretty set, however if you do not know what that means then you will be comfused and unless you know that song already you will have trouble playing it. I am devoted to my student's success and inspire them to love playing the guitar as much as I do. Please contact me by phone for more info. thank you. Best wishes Steve Belify(show more)

If they are willing to dig deeper, I am able to teach them into more complex areas such as soloing techniques, different chord voicing and the mechanics required to play with lead/rhythm players. Little Abundance Lessons provides education in a wide range of musical skills to beginner and intermediate students looking to expand their horizons. Whether you need guitar, drums, ukulele, bass guitar, piano, or vocal lessons, Little Abundance will design a custom approach each month to assure your progress. There has never been a limit to the things we can learn about music. Music Theory alone is an abundance of information. Yet no matter how much we learn, there's little we can say to properly describe our passion for music. I can only hope to pass part of that passion on to others. The following things are what to expect as a student with Little Abundance Lessons: 1. Being treated as an individual, with unique desires and needs 2. Progress with physical and intellectual control of your instrument 3. Motivation to practice (and love practice) 4. Excitement for your next lesson(show more)

My teaching style is rigorous but fun and engaging. My goal is to have beginning students playing Fur Elise or another famous piece within 3-6 months. My teaching philosophy is based around engaging with my student and fostering a love for music and giving the student the skills to play what they want to play. I want to give my students a new, profound way to express themselves. Music is healing! My guitar lessons are less traditional. I ask my beginners for a list of songs they like and start teaching them chords through playing songs they know and love. I play electric guitar in two bands and can include teaching about the electronic aspects of the instrument as well. I strongly encourage my guitar students to write their own songs from the very start. I incorporate songwriting into my lessons. Intermediate guitarists who need help with songwriting or music theory to improve their own songs are welcome too!(show more)
