I am a private instructor on several instruments as well as a performing solo guitarist, singer songwriter who often performs in duos, trios and bands. TEACHING I specialize in acoustic guitar music, solo instrumental guitar and also teach beginning piano, electric bass, ukelele, and some electric guitar styles. I received my BFA - Guitar Performance from UW-Milwaukee and WI Conservatory of Music. Becoming a musician is a process that anyone can follow, it is not only available to a select few. Whether you want to better understand music in theory, learn a particular song or even just focus on a key phrase or lick, I can lead you through the steps to developing real musical skill and ability. I'll also make the process enjoyable and fun. I offer weekly and on-call lessons in my studio. I can also make arrangements to teach you in your home, within a ten-mile radius of HeadStock Music or on days that I'm performing in your area. Lessons are also available online through Skype. PERFORMANCE While at the Wisconsin Conservatory of Music I specialized in American fingerstyle guitar. I play solo guitar pieces, commonly referred to as classical guitar, however I play on a steel string acoustic and the music is a mix of American music styles: folk, jazz, rock, blues and country. My strongest instrument has always been my voice and I initially studied guitar to be better accompany myself. I enjoy songs from blues, folk, rock, country and jazz styles. I am also a writer and enjoy singing my own songs in a concert/ house concert settings. In most background situations I favor familiar popular songs from multiple eras with a few originals thrown into the mix. Currently, I play in: a Madison rock band called the Fauxtons; a blues and folk trio with mandolin and harmonica players called the Mugs; in a folk harmony duo called the Sugar Daddies; as well a hundred plus solo guitar and song performances a year. I've also done some side projects in a Replacements cover band and an Eagles cover band. Visit my website to hear musical samples.
I took long-distance lessons with Unca T in the winter of 2016 and I got so much out of them! I've been playing guitar for years, but had reached a certain level and hadn't progressed in a long time. So, I had some specific skills that I wanted to work on. T. prepared lessons that were exactly what I was looking for and kept me accountable to practice. It was an excellent experience. The next time I have room in my budget, I'd love to take more lessons with him.
I offer guitar lessons to those who are enthusiastic to learn. I would love to train people who loves music. Anyone can play music.
I offer guitar lessons to any age-group. I am an instructor who attended the Musician's Institute in Hollywood, CA, for guitar performance. I know music theory, can read sheet music and chord charts, and play acoustic, electric, and classical nylon to a lesser extent. I always enjoy learning something new and writing with other musicians.
I've been a guitar instructor for 30 years. My forte is rock and blues. I also teach finger style, country, funk and jazz.
Hello, folks. If you know anyone who is looking for private or small group lessons with either guitar or yoga/fitness, just drop me a note. I've been playing for 7 years and have been writing music more recently. The past 2 years I spent in Brazil playing live music, teaching yoga and giving massage in hotels and on the beach. Before moving to Brazil, I graduated with a degree in psychology. My goal is to help people enrich their lives overall finding more joy and peace in what they do. Health, fitness, and personal passions in life are areas I strive to focus on with others. Any questions feel free to send a message and thanks for looking!
I am a professional musician, and I started Rochester Guitar Studios to teach private lessons on the guitar, the banjo, the bass and auto harp. I have devised a method that starts with chords and songs then continues with all the techniques you need to learn and play well. For the banjo, I use the Earl Scruggs method for obvious reasons. I would also be willing to try Skype if you want.
I do electric and acoustic guitar, bass, 5-string banjo, and ukulele. Music reading is optional. I also do rock, pop, folk, bluegrass, jazz, and blues. We have a friendly, supportive attitude.
