First things first , I would love to say that Lisa is amazing . She was giving me voice lessons through Skype a few days ago & I could already feel the difference . I know I still have a lot more to learn & to work on , but she was so down to earth , it made me feel a little more at ease . I have huge stage fright & refuse to sing in front of anyone , but she made me comfortable to sing & let my voice out . I love how she doesn't judge & helps you on the areas you need work on . Even though we were Skyping , it felt like she was there . I really appreciate her , she's an angel . I feel a little more confident now . Can't wait to see more of her .
She's a really great instructor and singer. I went for her for my audition to get into the music department in college; at the time I had never done classical singing before. She taught me how to Sing classical music and help me prepare for my audition...and I made my audition and got into the music department! I went to her again recently to prepare for my audition to go to NATS and she helped me fix all the things in my songs, such as breathing and vowels...and I made auditions to get to go to NATS! She was always professional and made me feel comfortable. She not only helps you prepare in the area of singing but in other ways as well. I was impressed with her talent and knowledge, she knew what she was doing. She always give lessons of quality. I highly recommend getting a lesson with her, even if you've never sang before, she can help you!
When I started looking for a vocal instructor in Memphis I called several friends and church musicians. I explained that I had received ny bachelor's degree in voice and wanted to study with a technician not a vocal coach. At that time I was told there was no one available. Many years later I started asking again and was told about Barbara Posner. Voice study is unlike instrumental study in that your body is the instrument and many factors can contribute to tension and other problems. A technician can hear as well as see problems that need correction. Not every person responds to the same way of being corrected and since you can not point to an incorrect fingering or phrasing like it would be possible with an exterior instrument, she must find ways of helping to identify bad habits or problems a different way with each student. What 'feels' one way with one student might not describe the same way another student might experience the same thing. I have learned SO much from studying with her!
Lake Vocal Studio is by far the most professional and effective vocal training my daughter has received. My daughter has gained so much confidence and has a high success rate at her auditions.
I am an experienced singer and voice teacher. I specialize in teaching my students about the vocal instrument and how to sing with appropriate technique. I also teach beginning piano and guitar lessons. I am a licensed Kindermusik educator and Preschool music teacher.
Tori is a very good singer and she replied to me promptly. She was kind and courteous. I haven't taken lessons from her as we are at an indeterminate state in the process of initiating those lessons. As it happens, Thumbtack chooses this point in time to ask me to rate my experience with Tori. Actually, my experience with Tori would best be evaluated some 10 years in the future when I am reflecting upon my decade of vocal satisfaction and it's accompanying fortune and fame. I can only deal with what I have in front of me though. And this is that. So, I'm giving Tori 5 stars on a "so far so good basis". I'm not sure if I'll be contacted later to give Thumbtack feedback about their rating process.... probably not. But if I were consulted by Thumbtack I might advise them to build some sort of time delay into their rating process. But any fool can burn down a barn and I'm not trying to criticize Thumbtack. I'm just trying to praise Tori. But I can't because I haven't really met her or talked to her or anything, so an praise I might heap on hear would feel a little disingenuous. I hope that you, my possibly non-existent reader will understand. That is all, Russell Johnson
Incredibly helpful, responsive, and effective with a great teacher referral. Thank you!
I can take a choir with average voices and lead them to become an outstanding group. The First United Methodist Church of Mt Pleasant had an average of 8 - 12 singers. When I left they were averaging 20 and above and were singing music at the top of their ability and loving it. I know how to challenge singing voices.
I have been in classical voice for 7 years and have studied techniques, from operatic arias to pop and musical theater. Allow me to assist you in those as well!
I take my job as a music educator very seriously. I want every student who comes in contact with me, whether it be for a few lessons or for years, to come away with a true education. I aim to provide valuable and useful knowledge that creates competence and confidence for music makers of all kinds.
LAVA is for singers who desire to work in a structured, detailed fashion on all aspects of the singing arts. My technique is based on the Bel Canto school of singing. We explore vocal techniques, diction, performance practices, and all histrionic aspects of the compositions that each student brings to each lesson. Goals? Communication with their listener and beauty of tone are the keywords. We work together in order to make that happen!

My three sisters and I love singing. We eat, breathe and live to sing. It brings joy to our heart to teach children to sing and enjoy it at the same time.
I have my own production company where I teach them how to act, write and sing. I am looking to expand my company.
I am able to explain & teach my students on a level that most other music instructors cannot... I teach my students how to "see" the music.

After six years in the Phantom of the Opera, I returned to Memphis to train young singers in voice and stage deportment, as well as dramatic interpretation.
I am multi-genre and I am a working musician. I will not train you for the opera if you are wanting to sing on the "Grand Ol Opry". All music is valid. So I start with what you love and see how we can get you to the point where you feel confident singing that.
Students learn a fun interactive environment while receiving constructive coaching when needed.
My name is Mandy Webb. I have a couple of openings in my voice studio in the Lakeland/Arlington area. I have been teaching private voice lessons for over ten years. I work with students of all ages, beginners to professionals, in all genres of music. Some of my students have placed in the top chairs in the All Southwest Tennessee Honor Choir, been selected for leading roles in local Broadway productions, been featured soloists in their church productions, and have been awarded vocal scholarships to college. Some have been Mid-South Fair/Delta Fair finalists, and some have made it through to several rounds of X Factor, American idol, and The Voice auditions. Two of my students have just signed recording contracts and are currently working with music producers in Nashville on their debut albums. Students should expect to receive instruction in correct, healthy vocal technique. Lessons include guidance in correct breathing, tonal placement, vocal and dynamic range, articulation/diction, sight singing, ear training, overall musicianship, musicality, and performance. Please let me know if you would like more information. References are available upon request.
