Because of my student focused approach. I don't dogmatically hold to this or that philosophy. Instead, I let the student pick the musical direction he or she wants to go in. The students! this job never gets old because every student is different.

I'm a private guitar and bass instructor/teacher with 40 years of experience playing, performing, composing, recording, producing, and studying music. My focus is on instrumental music instruction and proper technique, although some voice coaching is available. You or your child will learn to play the instrument. I instruct reading, scale and key studies, music theory, composition, notation, ear training, proper fingering, and posture. I will travel to you, if you are in the Buford/Cumming/Lawrenceville/Duluth/Gainesville area of N. Georgia. Pricing depends on travel time and mileage. I compose my lesson plans. The student's material requirements are a playable instrument, a sturdy music stand, a 2" loose leaf note book, and plastic sheet protectors. Recording and computer musical production classes are also available.

  • Kayvon Kazemini

My goals for my students are as followed: - Improving tone and developing a strong two and a half octave range. - Finding a voice in a blues and jazz context. -Improving reading skills with a collection of classical and jazz. Depending on your particular interests, I can also help connect ideas from other instruments such as gutair, piano, or voice. My aim is to offer a practical approach to studying scales and arpeggios, which will, in turn, make reading and improvising much more comfortable. As part of the lesson plan, I would like to provide listening material, sheet music, and backing tracks to help energize your independent learning. A little bit about myself. My name is Kayvon Kazemini. I'm a senior at UNC Asheville; I am pursuing a degree in jazz studies and saxophone performance. I have experience playing with the UNCA Big Band and Wind Ensemble, as well as sitting in with the Asheville Jazz Orchestra. My rate is $30 for a 1 hour lesson at either my rehearsal space in North Asheville, or at your home (at no extra cost). $15 for half hour lessons. I really enjoy teaching and would like to welcome you to learn the sax.

  • Music Lessons

I teach musicians how to remember that they already know how to play music. I teach not only bass, but all instruments, because music is universal; sound is all around us. It courses through your veins whether you admit it or not. Everyone is given a box of crayons to color with in kindergarten, and at some point, they take your crayons away from you, and replace them with pencils and calculators. That little voice inside of you is just your inner child screaming for your crayons back. My job is to help you remember how to play with your crayons, and I do so love my job.

  • Guitar Instructor

    Nicholas Dauphinais

My journey begins by listening to my mother, aunts and grandmother sing in a quartet. My father has played traditional bluegrass for thirty years, and he is my inspiration for learning the bluegrass genre. A close family friend and notable songwriter, Ellen Wilber, started me on the trombone in middle school, which became my instrument of choice in band and orchestra. At the University of New Hampshire, I studied trombone and music education. I graduated in 2012 with a Bachelor of Music degree. My trombone teachers include Max Culpepper, recently retired from Dartmouth College; Nic Orovich, UNH low brass teacher and Portland Symphony Orchestra principal trombone; and Ronald Barron, recently retired principal trombone of the Boston Symphony Orchestra for 38 years. While I was studying orchestral and jazz trombone, I spent the rest of my time playing bluegrass guitar. I have toured New England playing bluegrass in various bands from 1998 to 2012. I am currently the guitar player and tenor singer in Nick Chandler and Delivered, a bluegrass group from Weaverville, NC. My lessons focus on teaching proper technique, musicianship, and professionalism while having fun learning and playing music!

  • Music School

    Jim Beaver's School of Music

Are we the right music school for you? Jim Beaver's School of Music is the largest music school in the Hendersonville North Carolina with an enrollment of over 200 students. More music students take lessons here than at any other school in the city of Hendersonville. Take lessons at an actual professional school of music instead of someone's home! Our music teachers teach a variety of styles from classical to rock and popular music. Whether you want to learn Bach or Alicia Keys, our teachers are happy to help you become the musician you want to be. Our faculty will show you the fundamentals of sight-reading, technique and theory, but they will also incorporate your favorite songs into your lessons. Our music teachers have warm personalities and enjoy sharing their love for music with you. Here are some of the frequently asked questions. What do you learn in your music lessons? That question is often asked by prospective students. Our teachers make it a priority to get to know you on a personal level and to become familiar with your personal musical needs and goals. We do not treat every student the same in terms of what and how we teach. A seven-year-old having their first music lesson will have very different needs than a fifty-seven-year-old taking up lessons for the second time after having had lessons as a child. The main reason to choose the JBSOM as your music lesson provider is that we are sensitive to the fact that every student is an individual. If you enroll here for lessons, we will work with you to make a plan that will fit your needs and musical preferences. At the first lesson, your teacher will ask you about your favorite type of music and set goals to help accomplish whatever musical aspirations you have for yourself or your child. What styles of music do you teach? We teach all styles from rock, pop, jazz, country, blues and classical. Are your instructors qualified? We have several music teachers, all with either college training or professional performance experience. Our music teachers are dedicated to learning about your personal musical goals and helping you to achieve them. With music teachers for every instrument, we are confident that we have the right teacher to meet your music lesson needs. In addition to their teaching credentials, our teachers have warm personalities, are extremely friendly and dedicated to teaching you the style of music that you want to learn in your music lesson. We offer music lessons on Monday-Friday, from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. and Saturdays, from 9:00 to 4:00 p.m. Lessons are $30.00 per 30-minute lesson, and you would come once a week. We offer other packages as well, some of which include 10-20% discounts. JBSOM does not require semester minimums for lessons. Every student here is on a month-to-month basis. If you are ready to start, you have nothing to lose as we only want students who truly want to be here, and we will not commit you to a long-term contract. Lessons are first come, first served, so contact us today to arrange your first lesson!
