Returning to piano lessons after 30 years, I couldn't have asked for a better experience than Kim Cann's Piano Lab. Kim has been responsive and accommodating to me in getting things set up. My teacher, Alex Watson, is encouraging, makes sure to get in things I am interested in, and adds material to make lessons fun. I also admire Kim's project for community outreach in developing a music lending library. Great folks! I would recommend to anyone.

There are many who can teach the nuts and bolts of singing, but only a few who understand and have the ability to pass on certain intangibles that can lead to rapid, marked improvement by their students. Happily, Lisha Walston is one of those latter few. I have always been a competent musician, but felt frustrated by my inability to sing well. After only six lessons, this is no longer the case. I am singing with a confidence and understanding that I would have never dreamed of achieving in so short a period of time. It's one thing to learn the fundamentals of pitch, intonation, breath control, style, etc. It is quite another matter to be inspired to make sudden leaps of faith in my own ability to find joy and a depth of feeling in the music I make with my newly discovered vocal skills. There is a certain musical communion I have during my lessons with Lisha that drives me to improve each week that I cannot easily put into words, but leaves me grinning like kid at each lesson's end. You can't find this in any text book, and you can't buy it for any amount of money. Many thanks, Lisha, to the faith and joy you have brought to me through song in such a short time.

When my daughter started voice lessons with Lisha several months ago, I expected that she would learn some things and become bored after a few weeks. I believe Lisha surprised not only me, but also my teenage daughter. I don't think my daughter nor I knew the breadth and depth of Lisha's knowledge, talent, and ability to provide personalized, tailored instruction to each of her students. Lisha connects with her students, respects and appreciates their talents and knows precisely how to motivate and encourage them to reach their goals. Lisha also makes efforts to work with parents in scheduling at times convenient for the students and their parents. On more than one occasion Lisha has rearranged her schedule to work in make-up lessons when we had to cancel for illness or inclement weather. Lisha's excitement and enthusiasm about teaching inspire her students, but her knowledge and experience are priceless! I'm so grateful we were lucky enough to find her!!

Lisha is a wonderful teacher. My son started guitar lessons with her in February of this year. It is amazing the progress he has made. During his weekly lesson both Mitchell and Lisha are so focused and engaged. To the outsider it might look way too intense at first glance, but look a little closer and you will see a child with a growing self esteem and a teacher with pure joy in her actions. Lisha's instruction has resulted in much more progress than I ever expected in such a short time. We, as a family, look forward to many more years of music lessons with Lisha.

I've been studying with Devin for about a month and He is an amazing and talented teacher! He has a ton of experience in music and teaching guitar which is seen in the way the classes are structured. The classes progress smoothly and and the right pace; there are reviews for mostly everything he teaches and there are exercises to learn different aspects of playing a guitar and also about music theory. It really went beyond expectations! His biggest achievement is not only the progress I'm doing during the class, but the fact he really motivates me in knowing even more ..thanks to his guidance and inspiration I'm doing some research and practicing even more at home. If you're thinking about taking class with Devin.. Do it! It is a great experience!

My wife and I asked Devin to play guitar during our wedding ceremony. He delivered a wonderful and memorable performance that everyone enjoyed. Devin’s skill and professionalism stood out to me and he is an all around great guy too. I want to add that Devin can play more than just graceful songs for a wedding. I’ve heard him play a variety of styles from classical to rock to jazz with professional level skill. He’s amazing and if you’re searching for a guitar player for any reason I highly recommend Devin.

I was somewhat hesitant at first of FaceTime lessons.....then we started! It has been a great experience! No more traveling over an hour one way for lessons. We are able to do them right in the comfort of our own home while cutting traveling expenses too! Angela has been a great match for our son!

Farrell has been teaching our 7 year old daughter piano for a few months now and I don't know how she does it! I have witnessed a beautiful transformation in my daughter from a shy little girl into a musician. Farrell is kind, patient, warm, loving and her love for music is contagious. Thank you thumbtack for leading us to Farrell.

I help students to grow as wonderful human beings with their own musicianship. They learn not only to "play" the piano, but also learn to communicate through playing music. I teach students at all levels and help them to become independent teachers for themselves.

About

I take the time to make sure my students understand the concepts and ideas that are being taught. Even if that means going a little bit longer. Also I graduated with my B.A. in music performance and have been performing for 7 years.

I pride myself in veering from the traditional methods of teaching in order to inspire a love of music and create an atmosphere where learning is easy and fun. Classical piano not your thing? No worries! based on our first lesson, I will begin formulating a lesson plan that best fits your musical style. For some, learning advanced theory and emulating mozart is more attractive.
