I hired Chef Tyler to provide heavy hors d'oeuvres for a retirement party for 50 people. He and his staff prepared an assortment of food and delicate desserts, setting up and cleaning everything in the kitchen when finished. It was a fabulous party and the guests couldn't stop marveling over the food. The presentation was beautiful, as well. I would highly recommend Chef Tyler and his wife Jill...they are an extraordinary team. I will definitely hire them again...it was well worth the cost.

My husband and I absolutely LOVED working with Terri and Bill! They are both wonderful, friendly, welcoming, loving, generous, and extremely talented people! They were an answer to prayer! Terri loves what she does, and she cares deeply for the people for whom she’s doing it. When Terri first told me her prices, I almost didn’t meet with her because it seemed too good to be true! I’m so glad I took the chance! An Event to Remember was our first and last taste testing! She went above and beyond to make us feel welcome, and her food was unbelievably good! We couldn’t stop eating!!! It was SO DELICIOUS! Everyone at our wedding was raving about the delicious food and the amazing caterers! Terri, Bill and their crew made a lasting impression on my guests! Best corn bread pudding I’ve had in my life. And I’ve had it my whole life. Our guests couldn’t stop talking about it. It’s incredible. Get it. Just do it. You won’t regret it. But first, say yes to Terri and Bill at An Event to Remember! Your guests and your wallet with thank you greatly! And you will make lifelong friends in the process. It’s a win all around. We love you Terri and Bill!! Thank you for doing everything you could to make our day so special!

Michelle's service and response time has been outstanding!! She has worked with me and my budget and has been able to offer excellent suggestions as well as been willing to facilitate my needs with a limited budget and time constraints!! I will write another review after the actual event but as of right now, hands down, she is amazing. After talking to several other caterers, I knew she was the one... encompassing excellent customer service, flexibility, creativity and willingness to help in a way that the other caterers were not. Thank you Michelle!!

My event isn't until May, but I booked Susan and her team for my husbands 30th Birthday Party. Susan had some great ideas and was very open to any ideas that I had as well. I have nothing but trust that the food at his birthday party will be amazing.

At the event the food was incredible and the service of him and his staff was beyond expectations. It feels like we all left as friends. I am looking for reasons to use his services again. I used Divine Cultural Cuisine for a private dinner party for 4. The Chef showed up on time with all the equipment. He was very careful and precise in cleaning his work area before and AFTER dinner. The party started at 7 pm and he showed up around 615pm to start prep work. Our menu was amazing and I am still full while typing this review. It consisted of Savannah calamari and crab stuffed shrimp as an appetizer. The portions were huge. We literally had to tell him to take the plate from us or we wouldn't have been able to eat the entree or dessert. I have to add, he applied some "orange sauce" to the shrimp that I literally would drink a bucket of. Chef Reeves is a saucier by trade so he knows what he is doing. Next, we were served a mixed green salad with a warm raspberry hazelnut dressing which was divine. Our main course was a surf and turf menu of orange soy glazed salmon and NY strip with mixed veggies and potato cakes. I don't know where to start. The steak was cooked perfectly. Salmon was cooked so well that I am troubled that I may never be able to cook salmon in my household again. And this orange soy glaze. He wouldn't tell us the ingredients but we tried to bribe him an undisclosed amount of money which he politely refused. I personally like grits so he made a side dish of his grits. They were the best grits I have ever tasted in my life and I am born and raised in the South. Just a wonderful meal from this point that was about to blow our minds. For dessert, might I add I don't even remember when he prepared it as we were stuffing our faces, creme brulee cheesecake with a white chocolate sauce and red velvet cake shooters with fresh fruit. The entire meal was better than I ever expected. My only regret is that we didn't know Chef Reeves and Divine Cultural Cuisine when we were getting married as we surely would have had him cater for us. We will be reaching out to him. We will be using him in the future and I truly believe if you have read all of this review up to this point, you will use him too.

Chef Graham and his staff provided us with a fantastic array of food for our backyard luau. From the very beginning to the very end, Chef Graham was wonderful to work with. He helped us design a menu that fit our theme, listened to our needs, worked within our budget and then went above and beyond by making an amazing display of fabulous food. In addition, he generously added a few extra dishes to our menu that he thought our guests would enjoy. The party was a huge success and our guests all raved about how wonderful the food was! In addition, we had Marcus as our bartender and all our guests loved him too! In fact, my husband was thrilled that every time he headed back to the bar, Marcus was ready for him with his choice of beverage...big kudos!!! Thank you Chef Graham and your wonderful staff for making our backyard luau such a memorable event!

Yevads events did my 40th birthday party. They provided my invitations, catering and decorate. I had an all white theme and they decorated my outdoor party with white pipping drapes with white linens and white chair covers. They accented the white decore with rhinestone Center pieces. The food was amazing! The staff was punctual and had the food set up and warm in time for my guest. My event was an evening of elegance.

Wrap it up is sure to be the best hit food at a party or gathering. Starting with the spicy deep fried eggs, onto the buffalo chicken wrap finishing up with a mudslide little horn. I would choose WRAP IT UP at your next event; whether it be a family picnic to sporting event. The food is delicious. The staff is friendly and overall great hospitality.

      Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

How much does it cost to hire a caterer?

Catering prices depend mainly on how fancy you want the food and service to be and how many guests you’ll have. When you’re first looking to hire a caterer for your event, consider how many guests you’ll have and your total food and drink budget. The national average for event catering is $340, but catering prices can range into the thousands depending on your menu, guest count, and service.

Event catering is a broad term that covers everything from fully prepared, ready-to-eat food that the hosts plate and serve themselves to full-service, multicourse meals, including rental of linens, glassware and other items, with service staff organized by the catering company. Usually a caterer will determine cost based on the type of event you’re having, how many guests will attend, the level of service you desire, and what type of menu you’d like to have. For example, if you have a set catering budget, say $1,500, and you plan to have 50 people attend, that means you have $30 per person for food. If you have the same budget with 100 people, you have $15 per person for food. In this way, the number of people you want to attend your event and the level of food you want to serve them determines how much catering will cost.

How much should catering cost per person?

Catering prices can range from about $10 per guest on the low end to $150 or more per person on the high end. Catering costs represent the quality of food, presentation, variety, ingredients and service. But catering prices are more than the cost to cook the food that will be at your party; they also include the cost for the company to do business. Here is a simple breakdown of catering prices:

      • Menu: The food you serve your guests will directly affect the price per person. Organic ingredients, complex recipes, elaborate presentations, or high-ticket items like lobster or filet mignon all add to the cost.
      • Service: Buffet, family style, plated dinners — how you serve the food affects the cost per person. For example, a true plated meal can cost about twice the price of a staff-assisted buffet because of staffing costs. Hiring waiters, bartenders and cleanup crew will all be calculated into the per-person catering price.
      • Drinks: Providing beverages and alcoholic drinks for guests greatly increases your catering budget. Hosting an open bar can cost as much per person as the meal.
      • Rentals: Seating, plates, glassware, etc., will all have an effect on the cost per person for catering. For example, a plastic conference table that seats 10 costs about $6 to rent on average, while a wooden farmhouse table is about $80 to rent on average.
      • Business costs: Any catering cost will also include the cost for the company to do business such as insurance, employee wages, commercial kitchen space and more.
Hire skilled professionals for absolutely everything.
