I can play what I like and at the same time learn new techniques and become a better bass guitar player. James always has a way to explain theory and techniques to me that I understand it and that I can improve my playing and still have fun playing the bass.

Our 8 year old son has been taking guitar lessons with Justin for a year and he loves it! Justin is so supportive and helpful in writing, singing and playing. We have been so pleased with our son's experience that my husband has signed up for lessons this fall. We couldn't say enough great things about Justin!

Paul is a great guitar teacher! He is always very friendly, patient, and encouraging during our lessons. He is also always available via text in case you have any guitar related questions, which is super helpful and generous. It’s evident that he truly cares about his students’ progress, and he does a great job planning each lesson to ensure his students get the most out of each week.

Charlie has been teaching acoustic guitar to my 13 year old son for 7 years. He is an excellent instructor that is very patient with beginners. My son has made great progress in these 7 years and has expanded his lessons to include piano and dobro which Charlie has supported and instructed him in also. I would recommend Charlie to instruct any beginners in guitar, piano or dobro.

I'm an adult who started playing bass guitar late in life. My needs for instruction are very specific because I know exactly what my goals and desires are as a musician. Andy listened to what I wanted to accomplish and has tailored his approach to meet my needs specifically. Andy is punctual for all the lessons, and is well prepared. He is a good coach, praising my ability and improvement, while at the same time encouraging areas of weakness and offering suggestions for improvement. When I suggest a song that I want to learn, Andy takes the time to learn the song, and will provide a correct TAB to learn the music from. Andy practices songs that he doesn't know, so he can teach you and show you how the song should be played.

I've been taking guitar lessons from Paul Warren at the Raleigh Music Academy for over 4 years. In that time I've been able to go from not knowing how to play to learning and playing songs that I listen to regularly. Each students lessons are tailored to what they are interested in, with the instructors guiding students and suggesting techniques or songs that can help them improve. There are two things that really set the RMA apart: First are the top-notch artists that they are able to host for workshops and clinics. I've seen Greg Howe, Andy Timmons, Andy Wood, Chris Poland and Guthrie Govan perform and instruct, all in an intimate setting. Second are the monthly student shows. All students have the opportunity to play a song with other students in a live setting to family and friends. This is a great learning experience and gives validation to the time spent learning new techniques and songs. If you are looking to learn guitar, bass, percussion, piano, banjo, mandolin, fiddle or voice, the RMA is the place to go. I'm glad I did.

My son, Banks, started taking lessons in January with Jeremiah. It is amazing what Jeremiah has already taught him! The best part is that Jeremiah makes learning fun. Banks enjoys going to his lessons and picks up his guitar to practice without being asked. We have found a great teacher that also close by in Fuquay Varina.

FJ brings a wealth of practical experience and education to his bass teaching. He can teach music theory, a rare thing in my experience and essential for a bass player. The music I play doesn't have any written bass lines so you have to invent it yourself (which is part of the fun). He also knows many styles of bass playing so he can take a student in any direction they wish. If you watch him perform, you can see him do all the things you want to learn - so just ask. And finally, FJ is just an all around nice guy, so he's easy to spend time with, ask questions of and accept direction from.

        About

If you want to learn how to play the guitar from a passionate, dedicated musician, then you have come to the right place! I work one-on-one with students of any age (beginning-intermediate) to help them get the feel for how to form chords correctly and then how to turn those chords into songs, using different strumming patterns and techniques...and have fun doing it! My pricing is reasonable, and I have good package deals for new students. I am looking for those students who really want to learn the craft of guitar playing so they can enjoy it and even play out at local open mics if they want to with me! I play out with a couple of bands, including a duo with my wife - see the link above. Let me know if this is something you have always wanted to do - I can help you make it happen.

        About

I am able to connect and relate to my students based on the way I learned at an early age. Not being pushed or forced, but by being inspired and encouraged.

        About

We offer piano, guitar and bass lessons for children and adults from beginner to intermediate. We are a husband-and-wife team with years of experience.

        About

I primarily teach beginning to intermediate guitar. I start with the basics: correct posture and identification of the guitar itself. I like to start with a few basic chords and (depending on the student) the major and minor scales.

        About

Students, ranging in age from 5 to 50+ years old, from absolute beginner to accomplished musician, come in every day to learn a new chord, hone their skills and flourish under the patience and attentive ear each of our instructors provide.

        About

I do in home lessons in the Raleigh and surrounding areas, particularly south of Raleigh around Clayton, Garner, Angier, Fuquay Varina, and as far south as Benson and Smithfield. I go as far as Zebulon east, Wake Forest north, and Durham and Cary West. I try to schedule lessons in a way that I'm not zigzagging back and forth all day. The convenience of your location and time with respect to my other lessons for that day, may increase or decrease your rate. My standard rates are: $30/30mins, $35/45mins, $40/60mins, $50/90mins, and $60/120mins per visit. I'm 28 years old and have been playing guitar since age 12. I am mostly self taught. I help people understand their instrument in a way that when they feel they are ready, can continue teaching themselves long after I am gone. I am very patient and easy to get along with. I look forward to hearing from you. Thanks, Corey

interested in playing the guitar for personal enjoyment. Would like to get the basics quickly and grow. I don't have a guitar. Thinking it would be good to rent until I learn about the differences in sound & styles. Don't want a BIG guitar. Just something I can easily pick up and play.

I need to learn technique instead of trying to play songs. It's frustrating no knowing what the right position is or how to build finger strength.
