Tina was trustworthy and dedicated to our animals and our home while we were out of town. She handled our two dogs and three cats for several days. We felt confident that our animals were in great hands and would recommend Tina for house/pet sitting.

The service that I have been receiving with Leash Life is exceptional. The couple who run the company are reliable, professional, and super nice to beat! I am 100% comfortable with them having access to my home and love that my pet is getting quality one on one time each day while I am away at work. And if the pictures they text me while they are with him are any indication, Scrumpy really loves it too!!

LOVED Laura! She was great and I felt totally comfortable leaving my fur babies in her hands. She was professional, thorough and kind. AND we came home to a clean house..she vacuumed, etc! Thanks for going above and beyond for us, Laura! Will definitely be using her again for our future pet sitting needs!

Amy was awesome! She was super sweet and answered my calls/texts when I reached out to her. I was very concerned since this was my dog's first time with her but she assured me that all was well. She even kept my dog overnight and when I told her I woukd be late she didn't complain. If you book Amy you will not be disappointed. I wouldn't let anyone else dog sit for me. Awesome job!

One word sets me apart from other, fun! I'm all about having fun in a safe and productive environment.

What makes my business great is that I care for your pets. I make sure that they're having a good time. I play with them, and I will treat them like they were my own.

I grew up on a farm with horses, dogs, cats, fish, hamsters, and gerbils. I currently own 3 dogs and one cat. I worked in an animal facility for three years as the principal handler.

I live in Statesville and am trying to get small jobs while still going to school. I am responsible and hardworking. I offer babysitting, pet sitting, and house sitting services.

I'm a stay-at-home mom, and I provide service at your home whenever you would like for pet services. I grew up around all kinds of animals. I had three brothers who would bring home whatever critter they could talk my mom and dad into having. We had many dogs growing up, and I absolutely love all pets. I will love your pets like I do my own. Please call me, and I will take care of your pet for you. I can also house-sit if you prefer.

I will feed, water and play with your animals. I'll collect your mail for you. Take your animals on a walk and whatever else you'd like me to do.

I am reliable and responsible. I also love animals and will take great care of your pets. I am available at anytime.

I will take good care of your pet and make sure that you would want to bring him/her back if you need to.

I walk dogs, comb them, play with them, and give them exercise. I have been doing this at the York County Shelter for the past six months now. I grew up having dogs.

Hi I am an international student athlete at queens university, and I am here to major in physics and do track and field for the queens' team. I love animals, but mostly dogs! I have a dog back home and I miss him so much. I have experience with dogs because when I was 10 years old I started walling my neighbor's dog.

I have been a veterinary technician for over 15 years and treat my clients pets as if they were my own. I spend individual time with each pet and am meticulous about details and the care they receive. Every animal deserves special treatment because no two animals are alike.

Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

How much should you pay for a pet sitter?

Pet sitting provides your precious pet with in-home care. A pet-sitter can make a brief visit during the day to provide snacks, playtime or affection, or stay at your house for one or more nights to tend to your pet. Prices for pet-sitting will vary based on length of the visit. Nationally, pet sitting prices range from $20 to $30, although prices run higher for your sitter to stay the night. Prices will also be affected by where you live in the country. Here are some examples of average pet-sitting prices based on length of time and region:

  • 30-minute visit: $17 in a small Texas town.
  • 30-minute visit: $25 in Southern California.
    • 45-minute visit: $28.
    • 60-minute visit: $32.
  • Overnight stay (10 hours): $50 in Texas.
  • Overnight stay (10 hours): $85 in Southern California.
    • 12 hours: $100.
    • 24 hours: $200. This is a good option for a sick, elderly or brand-new pet that needs constant supervision.

How much does it cost to hire a house sitter?

House-sitting can be a lifesaver when you’re leaving town for any length of time. Whether you work remotely, you’re taking a much-needed vacation, or you just want to road-trip for a few days, it’s wise to have a pro keep an eye on your house and pets while you’re gone. Your home is more likely to stay safe and you won’t have to wrangle the kitty into a kennel to travel with you. The national average pet-sitting price ranges between $20 and $30. Pet-sitting and house-sitting costs will vary based on where you live in the country and regional labor rates. Another factor in cost is how long you want the house-sitter to stay. Some people prefer to have the house-sitter stay the night at their house, perhaps to care for an elderly pet or simply to keep a watchful eye on the home at all times. Overnight stays will cost more, ranging anywhere from $50 to $100, depending on services provided. For day visits, house-sitting and pet-sitting prices will increase incrementally the longer the visit and the more service you want performed. For example, a quick 10-minute visit to feed and walk the pet and bring in the mail could be $12.50, a 25-minute visit could be $18, a 40-minute visit $25, and a 50-minute visit $32.
