Simply wonderful! It was a family gathering to celebrate an Anniversary, four families from four corners of the country at a lovely home on Lake Norman. We worked out a menu with Chef Tyler that sounded great with an emphasis on Italian. It was delicious as were the beautifully presented hors d’oeuvres. The Chef took extra time to make Grilled Figs with Proscuitto and Fried Squash Blossoms. A delight for my Dad. Just the sort of extra effort that made things special. A skilled chef with that personal touch. Highly recommended.
They aim to please!! Camille went out of her way to please us she even drove out of her way to make sure that everything was in perfect order for my special day. Caroline, Chef of Nostalgia, is an amazing cook, planner, and presenter of fine foods. Unlike your average Chef, Caroline can make the best out of every situation. She has a personality unlike most creative chef-folk in that she laughs and smiles and is hardly ever ruffled by changing circumstances (and has never inappropriately shown it when she was ruffled). I have never experienced a chef without "attitude" ... until Caroline. If you want amazing food and are going to need your Chef to be out among your guests, then hands-down - CAROLINE!
I hired Charley to cater my husband's 60th birthday party, an informal and small party. But Charley was just as professional and his food just as delicious as if it was a high-end fine dining affair. We settled on chili with all the fixins and corn bread. Even though he brought more than enough food, he ran out - almost everybody had a second serving. And the feedback I received from our guests was outstanding! Oh, and my husband's birthday caramel cake was to-die-for!v I can't recommend Charley highly enough!
I have had the opportunity to have Alex perform cooking services at my home on two occasions. We expect to contract him for further activities with friends at our house. Keep in mind, my wife and I have a newborn, so it is difficult to go to restaurants often. For this reason, we decided to experiment with the services of a "personal chef". First of all, the top notch experience of a knowledgable cook in our own home is quite different from the norm. We were apprehensive at first, but due to his bubbly personality and knowledge, it was an experience that we would not get at any restaurant in Manchester. Second, quality of ingredients and cooking materials is top notch. He brought everything, bought in local markets, in addition to some "secret ingredients" he brought from Puerto Rico. We discussed the menu beforehand and he was quite open to appeasing to our tastes, while at the same time, successfully helping us experience new ingredients. Third, the food was amazing. We agreed to try latin american themed dinners (first time a mexican style burrito dinner, second time a puertorrican themed mofongo dinner). I have never tasted anything like this in New England. The closest place to NH we can taste this type of food is NYC. I recommend Mr. Cruz without reservations.
