About

I grew up in a musical family, and it has always been a part of my life. I graduated magna cum laude in May with a BS in music education (K-12) and a BA in music with a vocal performance and pedagogy concentration. I teach voice and beginner instrument lessons.

About

I enjoy the music instruction and guidance which shows progress in a short amount of time. I am unfamiliar with other(s) individual music lessons though am happy with Karen's lessons. I have explored rhythm, melody, and harmony with various instruments for resemblance. Her personal studio at home is great for this.

About

Hello! My name is Mel Christian, and I'm a young piano teacher with almost 12 years of piano/musical/vocal training under my belt. I can teach the foundation for any musical aspirations, but specialize in piano and vocals, with a working knowledge of guitar and other stringed instruments. Reading and writing classes are available. My target age range is 4 to 17, and I have experience with young children and what I like to call "frustration management". I enjoy employing different teaching styles to learn basic musical concepts, so that my students have maximum retention (using hopscotch to learn about note values or thumb tacks and string to learn about scale progressions). I think that learning music should be fun for both the teacher and the student. Lessons are $10 per half hour and $15 if I have to travel. I also offer online options. Any materials needed are not included. I cannot travel more than 2 miles in any direction from Catholic Medical Center. There are multiple student discounts available, and I am willing to work around your schedule. I have been in many school vocal groups and also participated in New Hampshire Music Educator's Association's Classical All-State Festival (vocals). I also have been playing piano since I was five and learning basic guitar/string instruments over the years. Feel free to contact me anytime. I also can tutor in any subject up to sophomore year in high school and employ the same ideals and teaching styles to help your child learn academic principles, good study habits, and everyday organization skills. My rates vary (none exceeding $16 an hour). Online options (Skype or voice) are available as well. Thank you so much for your time. I can't wait to hear from you!

About

Originally from India, Tanya has been singing her whole life with 12 years of professional training, performance experience and education (Berklee College of Music). She is currently training under her world-renowned mentor, VINX De'Jon Parrette (collaborated with greats such as Sting, Stevie Wonder, and Taj Mahal, to name a few). Unleashing her creative side is something that is most natural to her where each moment is a note, every minute forms a melody, an hour makes a phrase, ups and downs through the day provide dynamics, which eventually delivers us a song for the day - life being the grandest orchestra one can experience! Thorough in vocal technique, performance and vocal health, I am stylistically versatile, spanning a spectrum of genres - blues, jazz, rock, R&B, hip-hop, and the list goes on. This flexible range and versatility stem from a mind-set that believes music is air manipulated creating unique sound expressed by an individual highlighting the fact that no two interpretations of one song can be the same. Using this philosophy, I know how to focus and extract the individuality of a student whether singing covers or originals. Having a second degree in drama/theater, I incorporate acting skills for stage presence and audience connection. I will work closely with you to establish short- and long-term goals, strategize various ways to meet them, and share my knowledge and enthusiasm for the voice and performance. Lessons are molded to the student's needs and desires, keeping every lesson fresh, new and exciting. She follows a vocal regimen of exercises focused on breathing, body posture, relaxation, dynamic, character study, and articulation.
