We had a pool table moved from 1 house to another. First-Rate made it work seamlessly. They communicated with both home owners to coordinate the move via text, email and phone. I would highly recommend using this mover. Their price beat everyone else's by $200. It's nice to see a company that doesn't try to rip you off.

These guys are utterly amazing and I highly recommend them! I hired them to move 2 couches, a 3-seater with a pull-out bed, and a loveseat. They pulled up with a Dodge Caravan and I didn’t think the couches would fit, but sure enough they did! Shout out to Dodge for their cargo space. 👍🏻 I live in a 3rd floor walk-up with somewhat treacherous and windy stairs, but they made it up with the big couch in about 5 minutes, if that. They were in and out super fast. They were polite, professional, efficient as all heck, and genuinely nice. I highly recommend this team for all of your moving needs! Thanks, guys!

Tony and Matt were extremely professional and knowledgeable about their work. They were also very friendly and courteous. We purchased a previously owned pool table from someone in a neighboring town, and Tony and Matt showed up on time, picked up and delivered the table to us within a tight time frame. They kept us apprised of their progress the entire time. Not only did they set up our table with painstaking and meticulous attention to detail, but they also re-felted it and gave it back its beauty. It was really neat getting to watch these guys put the table back together. They are clearly passionate about their work as they shared all kinds of information with us about how and what they were doing, and pool tables in general. We even talked about Marvel movies! We are so grateful to have found such a professional company to bring our pool table home. We highly recommend Solids & Stripes to any one looking for anything pool table related! ~Ben & Emily Mansfield, MA

Cloud 9 did a great job of moving a slate pool table for us. It's perfectly level and was well worth the investment.

Poseidon Moving helped us move from Boston to NC. After shopping around, they offered us the best price, and at a flat rate. This meant that we didn't share the truck with anyone else, therefore reducing worries about our things getting lost or mixed into other people's belongings. Surprisingly, this service was cheaper than some of the big-name brands (United, Allied, etc.) that ship multiple containers at a time. The team arrived exactly on time, picked everything up and disassembled some of our larger furniture, such as tables and the bed. They drove straight down to NC and the next morning they delivered our things. Nothing was broken and they put the furniture back together again. I would definitely recommend them to anyone who is looking for help moving either locally around Boston, or even across state lines. Thanks!

I had a phenomenal move with Reliable Moving Inc, and would recommend the organization to anybody. I was moving from D.C. to FL a month ago. I was overwhelmed with the costly quotes I was receiving. Finally I called Reliable Moving and they offered an exceptionally sensible cost to move my auto and my furniture. Frank could have his movers come two days from my call. The movers were exceptionally proficient and courteous. They precisely wrapped the things that I couldn't box (my compositions and wine glasses). Frank and his aide took care to assemble my boardinghouse room table. They likewise helped me move my love seats and bed until I chose where I needed them. Frank and his group made this move as smooth as tranquil as could be expected under the circumstances.

How much does it cost to restore a pool table?

Keeping your pool table in prime condition both protects your investment and makes it more fun to play. If your billiards table has been damaged by age or player misuse, experienced pool table repair pros are ready to help. The average national cost to hire a pool table specialist is $330-$400, but pricing can vary depending on how much restoration work needs to be done and the type and cost of materials you need. Depending on the type of pool table you want, the cost to buy one new can range from $1,000 to $5,000 and up, so investing in upkeep every few years makes good financial sense. Common pool table repairs include refelting the table, replacing cushions and cushion rubber that is has deteriorated or been damaged, installing new pockets or replacing damaged pockets, and fixing chips or smoothing uneven slate. You can also have wood pool tables refinished to restore them to their former luster, which may start around $600 and go up, depending on size, wood type and necessary repairs. Pool table repair pros can level an uneven table, repair broken leg mounts and address other foundational issues. Pool table repair pros can also fix coin-operated parts for commercial tables.

How much does it cost to replace pool table felt?

Owning a pool table, whether for pleasure or business, means investing in upkeep. Keeping the felt in good condition is important to ensure not only appearance but a smooth game. The national average cost to hire a pool table repair professional ranges from $330 to $400. A quality pool table is a major investment, so you want to hire a pro who is experienced and comes with glowing references. Refelting a pool table is a specialized skill calling for technical tools, competence with slate smoothing and repair, and the ability to provide a precision application of the felt that won’t hinder play.

When well cared for, pool table felt can last up to a decade; pros recommend replacing your pool table felt every three years or so, more often if you play heavily. Refelting and pool table repairs can cost more for antique and custom pool tables. Commercial pool table owners are wise to have multiple pool tables repaired at one time, as they can often get discounts for volume work.
