The most enjoyable learning session I have experienced. He adapts to the way I learn. He explains then demonstrates in his lessons. I felt comfortable enough to ask questions. This was not my first salsa lesson but it was the first time I did not feel frustrated, overwhelmed and defeated after a lesson. Look forward to my progression with lessons.

Arati is a super cool, friendly and fun instructor! I really appreciate her teaching style and content, as well as the warm and open environment that she provides for, in the class. I have learned so much in such a short time! She has a keen eye and provides excellent feedback on the subtle nuances with close individualized attention. Her attention to your technique is unmatched. She simplifies movements, offers helpful cues about technique and imparts confidence all while keeping the class fun. Very highly recommend Arati’s Salsa lessons! 

I have been taking lessons with Jose since August and am having such an extraordinary experience that I must compliment him. I was never able to follow and dance with a man--I decided to take up dance after some personal losses, so after enjoying a dance cruise and taking lessons with a half dozen pros and trying group lessons which I kept missing because of work, I realized I'd never learn without intensive private lessons. This was my first thumbtack experience so was not expecting to find the most brilliant dance teacher on the planet, but I did! I'm dancing 3-6 hours a week with Jose for 2-months now, so can attest that Jose is a very special dancer and person. A few highlights of my experience: 1) Teaching skill. As a dance teacher, Jose has extraordary technical expertise and the ability of a truly great teacher to translate that into true, long-lasting advancement of my skills. I'm learning so much more than steps. It's all about becoming grounded in proper form and technique, so that most steps become almost a natural extension of that, with style as the ever present icing on the cake. Jose and a strong and exacting leader but also so kind-hearted and warm that his corrections and adjustments feel inspiring, not critical. He recognizes every accomplishment and makes every lesson a pleasurable experience. 2) Professionalism. Jose is always punctual, always waiting there for me. He confirms with exact location before every lesson. He takes the responsibility very seriously and provides excellent value for my time and expense. 3) Demeanor. Jose is very fun and uniquely warm but also such a courtly gentleman that dancing closely is very comfortable for a female student. He has this outgoing and charming but also even-keeled and kind personality. He manages to be gentle while exacting which is a unique skill for a teacher. He's so patient and supportive that my own frustration when I repeat my most common mistakes (mostly) melts away. Jose is a wonderful dance teacher and as my mom would say, a true "mensch". He's just a delightful person. I know it's more credible if you add a "lesser strength", but I honestly can't extract a single flaw or disappointment from my experience. Jose has instilled such a love of dance in me, I only wish we could do even more lessons each week!

I recently decided to take dance lessons for the first time. I was a bit nervous, as I'm a terrible dancer, however,  I wanted to at least try it once. My first lesson with Tonisha turned out to be so much fun, and I felt very comfortable! Tonisha has an amazing talent and is knowledgeable about dance, assesses your level quicky, and begins to teach you how to move so that you see improvement with your first lesson! The first night, she choreographed a dance routine that I was able to learn that night!  She has given me inspiration and confidence that I can actually do this! I would recommend  Tonisha to anyone who is trying for the first time or who is experienced, but wants to take it to the next level! ~ D

I came to Irina with two left feet and a whole lot of trepidation. I had only danced a few times previously, and because I really had no clue what I was doing, I was a bit uncomfortable. Irina helped to change that. In just a handful of lessons, Irina taught me the basic steps, how to lead, and a few showy moves so I can make my date look hot on the dance floor! I would definitely recommend her to anyone looking to learn to dance, and will be returning myself for salsa lessons! Thank you Irina!

Dear Monika, Thank you so much for helping to make our first dance such a hit. Our guests went crazy when they saw us break into a routine. We are so glad that we found you. We wanted to create a routine to Michael Jackson’s PYT and tried to teach ourselves since we have some basic moves on the dance floor, but we had trouble learning MJ moves. After taking 5 hours of classes with you, we felt like we had the moves down and felt much more comfortable performing in front of our family and friends. You were such a great teacher. You broke down the moves into small parts to make it easier for us to learn and you created a routine based on our skill levels. We had a lot of fun in our lessons and would recommend you to anyone looking for a private lesson. Thank you for everything!

Jiyon is an amazing instructor and a lovely person. I am a beginner who was always interested in ballet. I took some group classes before but I wasn't getting much. I was too beginner and needed more focused attention and extra help. When I started to take private lessons with Jiyon, she was very helpful in explaining very basics of ballet as well as body parts and their functions so I can pose properly. I am liking ballet more than ever and greatly enjoying learning from her. She challenges me each class and I can feel and see that I am improving. I am so thankful for her! I recommend her to people at all levels. She is great!

Hi! I am more than willing to work with all ages and supply knowledge of various types of dances. Dancing is more than a hobby; it is art and takes a great deal of athleticism. However, dancing is fun, so everyone should enjoy dancing even if it is recreational. My pricing is reasonable, and I am willing to meet all your expectations. My bio is below. Angelica Lopez is a 17-year-old dancer from Queens, N.Y. She is a Hispanic of Colombian decent who started dancing since the age of three. She has performed with the company in many popular venues, including The Macy’s Day Parade and Good Morning America. As a flamenco dancer, she has participated as a featured dancer in the Hispanic Day Parade in NYC. Angelica has been the recipient of many dance scholarships through The Pulse On Tour Dance Convention, including Protege, 2009-2013. She has also been awarded a fully paid scholarship by StageDoor Productions for their Broadway Dances workshop where a select few get to learn music and choreography from current Broadway actors. She has appeared on BET's 106 and park on several occasions including once as a featured performer for Willow Smith. She was hired by Microsoft to take part in a massive launch for the XBox Kinect game in Times Square dancing with Ne-yo.
