Robert has helped me with so many projects over the last 15 years, I'm not even sure I could list them all. He's helped me revise and edit a book-length memoir, several short stories, two novellas, and at least one screenplay. I would hire him again and again for any manuscript work--fiction, nonfiction or screenwriting. His editing and feedback are thorough, balanced, clear, articulate and encouraging. His rates are reasonable and competitive. Highly highly recommend him and his services. Obviously, I'm a satisfied customer, as evidenced by how I keep coming back.

I'm a writer for Stage, Screen, Television, Comics and the Web. My best genres are Action/Adventure, Sci-Fi, Super Heroes and Fantasy, but I'm also good at writing comedy.

Screenwriting service. Screenplays Short screenplays Magazine articles

What you gain by working with me: 1) Unparalleled storytelling ability: I can grasp the overall story of your company, brand, or project - and translate it into its minute details. There are several reasons I can say this is true: a. I have a background in professional Hollywood screenwriting. b) I hold two MFAs in creative arts (one from Columbia University in Film; the other in Creative Writing from the Iowa Writers' Workshop - which despite its location in Iowa has long been considered the premier creative writing graduate program in the English-speaking world). c. I have 8+ years of professional cross-platform advertising experience. 2. Unparalleled cross-platform versatility: I have extensive experience in writing and editing for television, digital, mobile, social media, direct marketing, and print. I can make each aspect of a project resonate in its own, powerful way - and still be 100% faithful to your overall brand message. 3. Unparalleled personal connections: I am friends with award-winning Sundance filmmakers, National Book Award winners, best-selling authors, and some of the world's finest journalists and creative strategists. I have the means of building, orchestrating, and retaining teams of professionals that world-class creative agencies would kill to have working for them. I likewise have an extensive array of professional film making and editing equipment at my disposal - both through these connections and on my own. 4. Highly versatile background in clientele: others specialize in a single field or platform in advertising. I've made it my purpose to follow the exact opposite track. Previous clients or client cross-partnerships include Disney, JBL, Harman Kardon, Apple, Google, Amazon, McGarry-Bowen, Hilton HHonors, Marriott, Best Western, the NFL, DuPont, Keystone Electronics, Telairity Digital Broadcasting, Continental Steel, NASA, SpaceX, and the Department of Defense. Interested? I thought so. Let's get this started.

What Hollywood forgot about screenwriting, I know! I offer screenwriting service in all aspects of the story and screenplay and producing and directing services to get the movie made, but never make the film unless the script is the best it could be. You could always change the script, but once the film is in the can, that is another different story.

I have 7 completed spec screenplays in different genres. I have adapted the ability to write on demand and give producers what they are looking for. I have 2 adapted full length screenplays, from award winning shorts and have written about 15 shorts myself.

I have been a screenwriter for a major Mexican network for over twenty years. I have written movies, developed pilots and written over ten telenovelas. I have also written for theatre and radio. I am also a trained translator, absolutely fluent in English, being Spanish my native language. I have worked for several publishers, translating from English to Spanish.

How do you hire a good grant writer?

Grants are available to nonprofit organizations, for-profit businesses that qualify for government grants, and individuals who qualify for foundation or government grants. Hiring a good grant writer can help you gain funding in your chosen field. According to the American Grant Writers’ Association, grant writers can help you research potential grant opportunities; write grant proposals, create budgets, and build budget narratives; review written materials before you submit; prepare a business plan; analyze your organization for grant competitive qualities; prepare research grants; help with 501(c)(3) applications for nonprofits; and more. Investing in the right grant writer could result in a financial win for your organization. Generally no licenses or certificates are required to be a good grant writer, but you may want to find a grant writer who has been certified (not just received a certificate of completion) by a reputable organization such as the Grant Professionals Certification Institute. Qualities to look for in a good grant writer include:

    • Proven success writing winning grants, especially in your target area.
    • Strong writing skills.
    • Strong math skills and demonstrated proficiency with budgeting.
    • Careful attention to detail — brilliant grant proposals may be rejected just for formatting errors, so you want someone who follows instructions explicitly.
    • Expertise in your target area.
    • Punctuality and good communication skills.

How much does a grant writer cost?

Hiring a grant writer can give you a competitive edge when applying for financial grants for your business or nonprofit organization, or as an individual. The cost to hire a grant writer can vary depending on their academic background, areas of expertise, previous grant writing success and years of experience. According to the Grant Professionals Association, grant writers should be paid hourly or by flat fee. It is unethical for a grant writer to accept a commission or percentage compensation of grant monies received. They can, however, be awarded bonuses in line with the hiring company’s prevailing practices. Here are some examples of average grant writing fees:

    • Hourly rate for grant writers with less experience or fewer grants awarded: $25-$35 per hour.
    • Hourly rate for grant writers with some degree of success: $35-$75 per hour.
    • Hourly rate for grant writers with proven success winning large grants: $75-$150 or more per hour.
    • For a smaller grant, the writer may charge a flat fee of $200-$500 for preparation and submission.

Pricing may also vary based on the complexity of the grant application. A federal grant that requires pages of research, budgets and a business plan may take more than 30 hours to prepare. For a high-level grant writer who charges $100 per hour, this means $3,000 or more in grant writing fees.

Most grant writers will provide you with a total cost estimate before agreeing to the work. You may be required to pay a deposit up front, or the grant writer may work from a retainer. Often, seasoned grant writers pay for themselves in the long run by writing successful grants.

Hire skilled professionals for absolutely everything.
