I have taken several classes with Lauren. Not only have I learned a ton, she makes cooking really fun, creative and inspiring. It's amazing how even years later, I still use what she taught me, from knife skills to cooking techniques, in my day-to-day life. I literally eat better because of her.

In February of this year, I took an excellent three-day cooking class from Jane Butel, with about four other people. We learned how to make a substantial number of traditional New Mexican dishes, and she accompanied the learning with interesting and helpful historical information that gave us valuable insight into why many things were done in a certain way. We all enjoyed her class, and I'm sure everyone of us has recommended her classes to others. It has given me the courage to confidently do some of the cooking and amaze my wife. It would require a dedicated lifetime to acquire the knowledge that she shared with us. Gratefully, Doug Edgar

To partake of Suzanne's food is to sample a little bit of heaven. And she's a teaching angel! Even for those of us who have two left thumbs in the kitchen, her patience and her skill are given so generously i would put myself in her hands any day!

I have purchased a gift cert for my son, which Justin creatively created :) My son is a beginner (not a pro- cooks for wife and son) and is going to be blown away by having Justin come into his home to cook. Justin has been prompt and responsive, and I am beyond excited for this bet gift ever! I'll send a photo after Christmas when they have cooked together!! BTW- my son, who will cook with Justin and Mark Schaaf, who is at Thumbtack, were friends when they were little boys!!

It is without effort that I can put together an event. I have done it so many times that I can have everything prepared with a smile on my face and help you relax about the plans.

The dishes I create inspire the guests that enjoy them, to think outside of the box and they really get the room engadged in great conversation. Enjoying eachothers company and really spending time with family and friends is becomming a thing of the past with all the trappings that modern society has brought to uor doorstep these days. I creatie dishes and menues that are as unique as you are I combine the requests my clintents make and the seasonal variety of local or imported ingrediens on design a meal or menu accordingly nothing is frozen or proccesed unless it is absolutely neccesary. I am very open and receptive to anything you might think make you experience with me the best expoerience you have ever had with a personal chief. I stand by my promiss that if you dont enjoy it my services are free, but I promiss you will love it. I have a uniqe style that keeps with traditional methods but blends ever changing metods and flavor fusions to produce inovative dishes that will have you and you guests immpressed and dying to tell your friends about. I have been creating these dishes for about 18 years and have had been blessed the opportunity to work in some of the finest restaraunts in this nation. I now use what I've learned to create these great eats. I love cooking and am verry passionate about it. I also love educating people about the art of cooking! I'm 32 years old so I'm mature and experieced enough to have the proffessionalisim that is neccesary to make a name for ones self in this competitive indutry. and young enough to make bold decsions when it comes to my creations. Dont lett my looks fool you, I am Skilled enough to compete with the top chefs in this market and manyothers I have never seved anything that doesnt have pure love for my work behind it., many talk the talk and never produce anything uniqe and creative or they dont have the fowerd thinking and pro active aprroach to cooking a masterpiece, if you want a chef that is quick on his feet, smart, engadging, problem solving/ preventing, efficiant , clean, orginized, and fun to watch and learn from then look no further, I have changed the minds of even the harshest critics out there let me show you what a great meal should tase like, i doo all this with a smile on may face and love behind the work I do. I'm only loking for one or two good clients that I can work for i belive in quality of quantity i dont do this for the money i do it because I love it if i wanted money I would be your attorney and the food service indutry as far as the pay is concerned isnt know to be a reall top earning profession, none the less hiring me works out good for you because I'm it for the love of art and the unity it brings to people. Food is great for learning other culture's and how people see things in various cultures, also customs and traditions that are practiced in making those dishes.

How much do private cooking lessons cost?

You can take private cooking classes to have fun, to learn a new skill, to improve your health, to bond with your partner, to enjoy a playful first date or to have a unique birthday party experience. Nationally the average cost of private cooking lessons ranges between $100 and $150. Prices can vary, depending on where you live, the type of cooking class you’re taking, the ingredients the chef provides, and the reputation of the chef. Cooking classes with Anthony Bourdain will clearly cost more than classes with a local restaurant owner. The number of people in the class will also affect the cost, with group lessons often priced per person to account for the cost of ingredients. For example, for group lessons, a brunch workshop may cost an average of $70 per person, a steak dinner with sides could cost an average of $80-$85 per person, and a sushi lesson could cost an average of $100 per person. Ingredients play a major role in cost, as the chef will pre-purchase the food you will be working with. Weekday classes will usually cost less than weekend classes.
