I have used Daniel on 4 occasions and have never been disappointed. He is very honorable and conscientious about his work. I read that one bad review and want to tell everyone to please read the good reviews and take into consideration you cannot please everyone all of the time. If you are super fussy and want complete and total perfection, you should hire a licensed contractor and pay their ridiculous fees. Daniel re tiled my kitchen and it looks beautiful. I cannot tell you how many compliments I get on it. He also remodeled 2 of my bathrooms at such a reasonable price for which I am extremely thankful. He also installed a mount to put my big screen TV on the wall again very reasonable. This past Sunday night everyone's worst nightmare happened to me,a terrible backed up toilet( full of you know what )was threatening to overflow into the rest of my house. It was just awful. I called other people and they wanted an outrageous amount of money because it was late and a Sunday night. I was beside myself, and then I thought of calling Daniel and asking him if he knew anything about plumbing. He was tired, it was late, it was Sunday, but he still came out and fixed the problem for me. He truly did go above and beyond to help me out. He really is a Handyman that can do just about anything and if he can't he can tell you about someone who can.. It has been nothing but a pleasure dealing with Daniel all 4 times I have used him. He does everything great but his tiling is awesome. Thanks Daniel

Our bathroom electrical fixtures were not working. The contractor came in and identified the problem. He repaired this as well as an associated potential problem. All of this was done in less than an hour. Courteous and fast. Highly recommended.

Submitted a request for plumbing services and got 6 replies almost immediately. Liked that a lot. Didn't like that responders did not read my detailed request via my Thumbtack post. Set up quotation visits and 5/6 showed up. Those that don't, make it easy for requestors to reject and fortunately, I did not rate that non-responder (if you don't do what you said you would AND you don't call when you miss your appointment, you don't deserve another chance or call back). Work entailed changing corroded valve to water heater, (3) shower cartridges, 2 toilet components, (1) new bathroom sink drain/stopper assembly, and re-caulking of master bath floor pan. About 1-1.5 years ago, used Thumbtack to do similar repairs and selected Sears. Deal was I buy parts and Sears installs. Upside was cost (as compared with using a licensed contractor) but downside was Sears did only what I asked them to do, even if they were aware that it was the shower on/off cartridges vs. what I thought were the outside on/off assembly. They replaced a leaking faucet but since I did not get the sink/stopper assembly, it was left and found to be leaking. The hall shower continued to leak from the on/off valve. This time, I used a licensed contractor and while price points were more than double from Sears, Super Maintenance Bros. exhibited quality and timely work completed efficiently. I am completely satisfied with Mr. Sanchez' work and know I can call him locally now for any plumbing work we need. My other option was to wait for a retired friend who was a master plumber but after almost 2 years of his excuses (it was all about him, not my repairs), I moved on and glad I did. When you hire a licensed contractor, it's all about ME as a customer and Rick met every one of my expectations. Thanks, Rick!

I have had E&E doing repairs on my pool for over 3 years. Ed Howard has proven to be exceptional in his expertise and just as important, always reasonably priced. He recently "talked" me into replacing my defunct solar controller with a Pentair intellitec controller. It now controls my pool, solar, lights, and even landscape lighting. Ed is always there to either reprogram or teach me how to reprogram the controller to do just what I want. By the way, I am the past President of the Associated General Contractors of America and I served as the Chairman of the Nevada State Public Works board. I know contractors and E&E has proven to be outstanding!

Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

What are plumbers and what do they do?

Plumbers are skilled professionals who are trained to install and maintain pipes and systems for drinking water, sewage and drainage. They usually have trained through four- to five-year training programs, which include apprenticeships, via trade schools and community colleges. Plumbers’ areas of expertise typically go beyond pipes to include mathematics, blueprint reading, plumbing codes and water distribution. They handle plumbing emergencies, such as broken pipes or clogged drains, and install and maintain everything from a new piping system to a replacement faucet. Plumbers also know how to install bathtubs and showers, toilets, water heaters and dishwashers. Plumbers may work on residential or commercial sites, sometimes designing and laying out a pipe system during construction.

How do you find a good plumber?

Whether you need a plumber to perform drain repair, install a new fixture, or replace rusty pipes, you need to make sure you hire someone reliable who will finish your job on time and within budget. Start by asking the plumbers on your short list these questions:

  • What is the total cost? Make sure your estimate includes materials and labor. Find out whether the plumber will be providing the materials and whether you’re being charged an hourly rate (which is variable) or a flat fee.
  • Is removal and cleanup included in the job? Some plumbers leave behind old parts, while others include the cleanup in the cost.
  • Is the work guaranteed? Find out whether the work (as well as the parts or fixtures) are guaranteed under a warranty.
