I am truly blessed to have found Scripta Word Services. Never in my wildest dreams did I ever thought I would be writing a book but after a major event happened in my life I was told it could be therapeutic for me and maybe help others who read it in the future. Marg has a course to help new writers where she would teach a course and then we'd turn in the writing assignment on Monday. It's been years since I took the course so I don't remember the name of it but it's very helpful esp. to a beginner like myself as Marg will give feedback and in turn these lessons will help with the writing of your book. Another thing I love about Marg is as you see just in this review, I'm wordy, my words really don't flow, Marg takes my chapters, keeping the author's voice, however make you shine. She sends a edit and clean version of your chapters - the edit version you can see in red what she has changed and to the side margins are comments and suggestions. Many of her suggestions I will go with but others I'm too stubborn to change as my novel is based on a true story and as shocking as some of the events are, I want to show that. When I am stubborn Marg goes with it. Without any attitude. My first editor seriously had attitude problems with me, she would "scream" thru emails, why this, why that - with Marg, even when she corrects me it's done professionally. Again, she is here to make ME look good and she does it well. She must have a ton of patience because I often mess up on my tense - when I get a chapter back she will "remind me" to watch my tense and I'm thinking, she's been reminding me that over and over but never once do I ever feel she is screaming at me (like my last editor) Though she keeps everything on a professional level, getting to know her through the years I consider her a friend, though we've never met in person I can tell she truly CARES. Now there are editors out there cheaper, but trust me... you get what you pay for. If you want sloppy editing, then send your work to them - however if you want professional, quality work that makes YOU look amazing (even if your a beginner writer like myself) then what are you waiting for? Scripta Word Service for sure! ~ E.
There are many good things to say about Renee Vaughn. The first is that I like working with her. She is personable, intelligent, listens well to what I need, responds appropriately to my requests, and does a great deal of work at reasonable cost. I have asked her for help with the structure of the manuscript, specific wording, errors in layout and punctuation, and even assessing the clarity of the message conveyed in the artwork. In all cases I have found her suggestions valuable. She has been an excellent editor for me.
Natalie offers top-notch copy editing services. She has all the qualities of an excellent editor: thorough, meticulous, and detail oriented. She is a pleasure to work with, and her turnaround is timely or earlier than expected. Natalie demonstrates a strict understanding of grammar, syntax, and style, but will not shy away from offering creative ideas unique to the subject matter and audience. I would highly recommend Natalie as a copy editor.
Melissa is an amazing editor. She's very professional, asks just enough questions to make sure you're both on the same page for the project, and is straightforward with her feedback.
He took on my first book, A Junkies Nightmare, Coming Clean and did an incredible job. Not only is he professional and personable he's incredibly talented and affordable. If you need an editor, look no further, you've found the perfect guy for your job. I will be returning to him again and again, I feel like I found a partner more then just an editor.
Carolyn has been a book coach, editor and midwife for me. She first helped me to find the book inside me, gently encouraged that process of discovery, guided me to put words to paper in the form of a book proposal, and finally, offered guidance to secure an agent and publishing contract. She is a unique combination of nurturing direction, organization and planning and creative inspiration, all packaged in her sweet and gentle ways. Carolyn has given me wings amd inspiration when I couldn't find my own. My ucoming first book would not have happened without her.
She is deadline oriented, experienced and a good listener. She "gets it".
I never would have had my book published without Lisas help. She immediately saw problems (and solutions!) that had not occurred to me. She worked closely with me, reading and editing my work, and showing me how to develop my original idea into a much fuller, more interesting project one that publishers would respond to. And, happily, they did. I recommend Lisa without reservation; my experience with her was both really valuable and enjoyable.
