Introduction: I am a passionate foodie and personal chef who thrives off the satisfaction of my clients. I love being in the kitchen and teaching others how to make their favorite dishes and dishes they've never heard of. Whether its a romantic dinner for 2, weekly meal planning, a private event, or private cooking lessons for a mom trying to integrate health back into her home; My main focus is You the client and ensuring that all your needs are met and your bellies are well nourished. I take great pride in my craft and would love to share that with you. The most enjoyable part of being a private chef is the fact that I am responsible for bringing a bit of happiness into my clients lives. Work life and family life can get hectic at times but, nothing brings a family together more than having a home cooked meal on the table, executed to perfection or sitting around the kitchen with friends drinking a glass of wine and learning how to make their favorite dish. This was my first time hiring a private chef and with Chef Je, it was a wonderful wonderful experience. She was very kind in her communication and responsive and helped me craft a great menu. On the day of the event (a dinner party for 10), she was on time with one other person and they set up the dinner table so beautifully and served my guests and I a delicious meal (we did southern/seafood style). They also cleaned up perfectly and packed away leftovers. If you're considering hiring a chef, go ahead and her hire!

Chef J was absolutely wonderful to work with; she was extremely responsive and the food was fantastic. We particularly appreciated how helpful she was in helping us select a menu that was in our price range and fit with the requirements of 14 (some of whom are picky) eaters. We would whole-heartedly recommend her and her team for any event.

Chef J was absolutely amazing! She came out to cook for my sister’s bachelorette weekend and made the best meal of our long weekend! She was also extremely accommodating of different allergies. Overall, 100% amazing experience with her!!

My Partner and I stayed a weekend in NYC and hired Chef Jaquetta thru the Thumbtack app. She responded quickly I told her what I wanted and she excelled it beautifully! Her tuscan salmon was to die for! the blueberry crumble was also amazing! EVERYTHING was great, we also had a cocktail that she made us It was great, I will definitely be reaching out to her in the near further again!

From the outset, Chef J was extremely responsive quickly answering any question I had. Chef J and her team prepared a delicious meal for a party of 15 in honor of my nieces’ graduation from college. They were extremely professional, hardworking, and a pleasure to work with. The catering service Chef J and her team provided was truly amazing. They paid attention to every detail! I also found the pricing to be extremely fair and reasonable. I would definitely hire her again!

  • What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

    My hourly rate is $55/hour but, I am also willing to create a flat-rate, within reason.

  • What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

    I first like to meet up with a client either in person or over the phone to go over in detail their needs, wants and specifications. Once we have settled on a menu, budget, timing & duration of service needed, my client will then sign a Terms Of Agreement contract based on the logistics we've settled upon and then its off the creating magic in the kitchen.

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

    I graduated Magna Cum Laude from The Culinary Institute Of New York in New Rochelle, NY with my Associated Degree majoring in Culinary Arts and a minor in Hospitality Management. I've also secured a Food Protection License from New York State ensuring that I am fully trained in keeping my clients safe from food related harm.
