My son takes drum lessons from Rob and I can't recommend him enough. He is a professional drummer and a professional teacher who has inspired my son to play and practice! Aside from being a patient, engaging and very talented teacher, he has the unique ability to make drum lessons both fun and productive.(show less)
You can't go wrong with Ruben! Besides being well educated himself, he has a strong passion for teaching, which translate very well in the way he approaches each stundent within his or her parameters. My 5 year old son loves to go to his drum lessons and improves every week! My husband is a drummer himself, Dion Parson, and he always assures me that our son is in good hands - he leaves teaching the drums up to Ruben instead of him working with his son - that in itself says it all, I think!(show less)
Shu is just all around an awesome musician, flexible teacher and friendly person. He has been teaching me the bass for over a year and I have been able to play with a band!! He can play anything from blues to rock and everything in between. I have had lessons with other teachers but Shu is the first person I felt comfortable and relaxed with. He just knows his stuff and can teach it a way that's easy, fun and relaxed.(show less)

My younger son takes guitar lessons with Frank Enea every week. He works really well with kids and my son loves his lessons. It is easy to see how much Frank loves music and seeks to instill that same love of music in his students. He is able to quickly assess what works and what doesn't work for each individual student and tailor his approach to the student in a way that works best for him or her. He was also able to refer my older son to a great flute teacher.(show less)
My 8 y/o daughter and 5 y/o son are taking drum lessons with Joe. They look forward to their lessons every week, and they really enjoy it! My daughter said she is learning a lot, and that Joe is really nice. My son is having fun and learning well, too. They are having a great experience!(show less)
I hired Mr. Ripley to give introductory percussion lessons to my 12 year old son who has expressed interest in pursuing the arts. We have had 5 sessions with Mr. Ripley and my son is very pleased with the way he tries to teach what he has interest in. Mr. Ripley connects with his students in a very effective manner that urges them to strive for what they enjoy doing. In just these 5 lessons my son has gone from knowing very little about drums to a adequate basic understand of percussion. Although I may fear loud drumsets in our basement in the future, I feel confident that Mr. Ripley has expressed how important it is to do what you love when it comes to the arts. For that, I am very grateful.(show less)

I am a performer and teacher with 15 years of drum experience. I am currently the drummer for a popular band called The Stumblebum Brass Band, as well as a freelance in other projects and I love to teach. I teach drums and percussion specifically geared towards mastering the drum set. I have learned from the greats including Andrew Cyrille, Nasheet Waits, Bob Gullotti and many disciples of the Alan Dawson school of percussion. Alan, the teacher of Tony Williams among others, taught how to become interdependent between all 4 limbs to utilize the drumset to the fullest. I am able to teach all styles including jazz, rock, blues, funk, punk, latin, classical, while invoking this method. I will give you the skills you need to read music and use written music in your own practice in order to make you a great drummer. I am unique in that I am patient, encouraging and serious about teaching drums and music.(show less)

A professional drummer and percussionist is available for teaching, recording, touring, educational clinics, and more! Services offered are: * Private Lessons: $60 per hour * Custom Video Lesson: $20 per video * Tracking: $100 per song The following is his official bio. Andrew McAuley (a.k.a. Kind Beats) is a drummer, percussionist, composer, and educator known for his outside-of-the-box approach to drumming. Taking styles from all around the globe, he seamlessly weaves them together with both neck-breaking grooves and soaring soundscapes. Influenced by drum and percussion visionaries such as Billy Martin (of Medeski Martin & Wood) and Cyro Baptista (Beat The Donkey, Sting, Paul Simon, Herbie Hancock), his belief is that everyone should try to discover their own unique voice on the instrument, and that it is an ongoing process that never truly ends. Andrew started drumming under Al Miller and later, private instructor Scott Foley. After a few years with no teachers, Andrew started studying under Billy Martin, and was inspired to pursue studies at the world renowned Drummers Collective in 2001. There, he studied under masters such as Michael Lauren, Kim Plainfield, Frank Katz, Fred Klatz, Memo Acevedo, and many others. After completing studies at The Collective, he continued studies with Billy Martin and began studying percussion under Cyro Baptista as well. To date, Andrew has performed and/or recorded with Billy Martin (Medeski Martin and Wood), Cyro Baptista (Herbie Hancock, Paul Simon, Sting) Terry Bozzio (of Frank Zappa, Missing Persons), Colleen Rennison and The New Breed, has written an instructional book, started the free Heavy In The Beats online series, and launched a website for drummers.
