Valdemir and a crew of two hung multiple pieces of art for me; repaired a bi-fold closet door, and executed several small carpentry projects. They were exceptionally neat. The wall hangings required drilling into concrete walls. They hung plastic bags below each drill site--not a speck of dust anywhere. They were collaborative, asking my opinion as each unit was hung. Also, all three were polite and easy to work with. I would use them again and recommend to friends.

Brick steps were replaced in front of house - foundation needed to be replaced as well. Two slabs of concrete on walk way needed to be torn out and area re-cemented. All work was completed within one day, as I was told, and the professionalism, quality of work and knowledge of what they were doing was quite evident. In addition to all these praises, the price was the best that I was able to obtain - more than fair.

We could not be happier with the final result. We were super impressed with the professionalism, and extremely hard work ethic that Alex and his team posessed. The team is extremely skilled and I would highly recommend them for any and all projects for which they advertise. They constructed a masonry wall/fence for us and it came out far beyond our expectations. Coureous, trustworthy, and professional. Do no hesitate to call Alex.

The job involved staining the deck, screwing in loose boards, and fixing two hand rails of a stairway of a deck that is roughly 980 square feet. I had also asked for the replacement of a crumbling sidewalk- roughly 175 square feet. Thomas Fredrick was fantastic. He was prompt in arriving to give the quote and pitching the price- which was very reasonable given the size of the job. He and his crew were prompt in arriving and quickly finished the deck in two days. The concrete work also took about two days- between the removal of all of the old concrete and pouring in the new foundation. All of my expectations were exceeded (which is rare for me), given the size of the job. Tom also took on the repair of one fence panel piece & replacement of a mailbox that had a broken cover. Any questions/requests that I had were quickly addressed (which rarely happens with some contractors). I am extremely satisfied and would consider TNS for future jobs and would highly recommend them to others in the area.

Jon Iorio Masonry was a God send. I was very pleased with the work completed by Jon and his staff. I am hesitant to hire help and I try to do all I can to save money as well as having prior bad experiences hiring help. Jon fixed the cracked and big chunks of missing stucco going down my basement entrance which included repairing the cause of moisture getting in. He also fixed an 11 foot jagged (2 inch deep in some places) crack in my retaining wall patio floor. My driveway separated from the foundation of my house the entire length of the foundation. He repaired that as well. Lastly, the stamped concrete around my pool had several bad cracks and was desperately in need of being repaired/sealed. Jon repaired the cracks, power washed and resealed it. My stamped concrete looks beautiful again! All the above work was completed satisfactorily, as scheduled and I had no cleanup once completed. I believe the $2050 paid was affordable. The peace of mind that my repairs were done right is priceless. Plus Jon provided a 1 year guarantee on all his work! From first contact/Thumbtak reply through job completion Jon was great. He knows what he is doing, he thoroughly explained what was needed and how he would repair it. His job proposal was clear and there were no add in costs or surprises. I will definitely hire Jon Iorio again (for basement foundation crack and staining concrete patio). I recommend Jon to anyone seeking an honest, easy to work with, affordable professional masonry company.

Carlos and his team were given the job of completely rebuilding my 70' x 12' driveway and 20' x 15' garage floor. The job required demolition and pouring of asphalt and concrete. The job was completed quickly, neatly, and finally my driveway was pitched correctly! I have received many compliments from my neighbors and the town inspector! Thank you Carlos, I would definitely hire your company again !

We hired Iberia Masonry to put in a new pavered patio, new steps and fresh sod in our yard and we couldn't be happier with the results. The owner (Levan) was on site working every day which was a plus. You can tell that he has a passion for this and takes pride in his work. We plan on hiring him again for our next project and recommend that you do too.

I wanted a dining table that would match the nature and vibe of my townhouse apartment- a renovated space in an old factory building. I have exposed brick and concrete walls, steel ducts, piping and distressed wooden floors. I envisioned a table that had a combination of styles but I did not know exactly which way to go so I sent pictures and the dimensions of the intended space for the table. Bruce listened and gave creative feedback patiently and professionally. I felt comfortable throughout the entire process and totally trusted his judgement. He created a table with a salvaged frame, new plywood surface and steel hairpin legs. He "aged and distressed" the plywood in a way that captured all elements of my living space without going over-board. I could not believe the finished product. It's a beautiful! Bruce even offered creative suggestions for seating and helped me to decide on a bench that works perfectly with the table. I love my table and am proud to have a custom "Nevad" piece. I highly recommend Bruce and intend to hire him again and again as I continue to decorate and furnish my home.

O&S fixed a concrete sidewalk in front of our building. They were quick to give an estimate, communicated when they would start and finish the project, and they stuck to those dates! The concrete work they did looked amazing. It was easy from start to finish, thank to their professional and thorough job. I would definitely work with them again in the future.

After some initial confusion with a sub contractor, things went well. Jassy, and his crew worked diligently and with skill and knowledge. They "got" the custom work I wanted and even added some of their own touches. I would recommend them heartily.

When you are inviting someone into your home, you not only need them to be knowledgeable and skilled on the desired task to be completed, but you need to feel safe and comfortable that you and your project are going to be well taken care of. I am in the midst of doing a first full home renovation in NYC, which is no easy task, and my concrete floors needed to be removed asap in order to advance. The company that installed my floors previously did a poor job resulting in the floors to fail. Luckily, I found GMA concrete and Giovanni and his team were ON IT from day one. You have to understand that I'm the kind of person who says, "If I can do this myself, why would I pay someone else to do it". And I admit that I can be a bit of a demanding client - probably because I demand so much of myself - but Giovanni met me with patience and professionalism. He walked me through step by step the reasoning behind what he had to do and why. He was focused on finding long-term solutions for my floors instead of just the quick fix. He did the one thing that seems to always be an issue with people in this field of work... he communicated clearly with his client! His responses were timely, his demeanor was polished, his work was exceptional and on top of all that - he was just a nice guy. With all of the understandable stress that goes into a home renovation, it was a comfort to know that I was in good hands. My only regret is that I didn't meet him sooner so that I could've had him do more on my project. This is my first review on this Thumbtack thing and really my first review I've written on any site. I work what feels like 100 hours a week just to barely pay my mortgage so I really don't give my time to stuff like this - but I know that these blurbs are important for people who have to invite strangers into their homes. Obviously, I can't speak to anyone else's experience with GMA except my own - but in a world where people can make the choice do wrong and take advantage of their clients, its good to know that there are commendable people out there who are doing things the right way and it didn't feel right to let that go unnoticed. Feel free to email me on this thing if you need to. It might take me a sec but I'll respond.

    Unique Concrete

    New To Thumbtack

      About

All stamped concrete is not the same. Our 34 years of experience with stamped and colored concrete allows Unique Concrete to produce a product of unmatched strength and durability. Our stamped concrete process offers excellent quality control and the realistic look of custom masonry. While the demands of every job are different, our process remains the same. Our structural slabs are always reinforced with steel rebar and 2 ¼” structural synthetic fibers. On top of this structural slab, we pour 1 ½” of integrally colored 3 dimensionally reinforced quality concrete fortified with PVA fibers and an added water repellant. This concrete overlay is embossed with a texture and pattern to create a cast-in-place concrete tile with the look of stone or brick that is guaranteed not to delaminate. All of the impressions that are placed in the concrete to define the pattern are actually grouted. It is important to note that this is not a simulated grout joint that relies on a superficial stain for a color difference- The color difference between our stamps and grout is permanent. The use of integral colors offers you a product that needs to be resealed less often, if at all. This decorative stamped concrete product ages very gracefully and over time will take on the look of a concrete paver. Also, if a chip should ever occur on an edge, colored concrete is seen and not uncolored concrete as would be the case if a dry shake coloring process was employed. The saw cuts and control joints are designed to be within the grout joints and not indiscriminately applied across the pattern. Finally, this stamped concrete surface is rubbed with a grindstone to eliminate any sharp edges that might be uncomfortable for barefoot traffic. The end result is a decorative concrete product that more closely represents the realistic look and beauty of traditional custom masonry and done in a cost effective way.
