Classes with Immersion Spanish School are un sueño. I always look forward to lessons. I've found them affordable and accommodating of my somewhat chaotic schedule. My teacher, Ceci, is really fun. I laugh a lot during lessons and don't feel at all intimidated by the seemingly daunting task of learning Spanish. I've learned a lot about Ecuador from her and I like too that they sometimes put together group calls so you can practice with their other students. I feel lucky to have found them. Very well worth it and I highly recommend learning from them!
I was contacted right away with a highly skilled educator and have the tutor I want within 24 hours. And the rates are very doable. Love it!
I've been studying French for a while and was looking for someone to help me improve listening comprehension and speaking skills. Ed tailored the sessions with activities that focus on speaking and listening. The session usually starts off with conversation--in the beginning me reciting the events of the day. Then we spend some time reading aloud. I get to hear the correct pronunciation of words while Ed is reading; and then to practice my pronunciation while I'm reading. This is followed by a review and explanation of everyday vocabulary. What I like most about the sessions with Ed is that more than 90% of session is conducted in French. From the very first lesson we started by having a conversation about my day entirely in French. Even if I revert to English, Ed will respond in French. When he is explaining a word or phrase I don't understand, he attempt to explain using simpler terms, objects at hand, or even by acting out the meaning. Only if I am unable to grasp the meaning will he revert to English. Another thing I like about the sessions with Ed is great at encouraging me to express my thoughts. It not so much by what he says but by what he does. Instead of interrupting me in the middle of my thought or store to correct something I've said, he waits patient for me to finish. Instead of citing every mistake I make, he focuses on what I was able to achieve to communicate and build on it--providing alternate ways to express the same fact or sentiment. I've been working with Ed for about four weeks now and I am seeing improvements. The conversation at the beginning of the session is no longer just me reciting the events of the day. It's becoming easier and there are more exchanges. It's obvious Ed has a passion for the French language and the culture; and that he enjoys teaching. If you are looking for someone to help you learn French, or just help you overcome your "stage fright" and start speaking the language, I would recommend Ed without serve.
Emily has been more than just a tutor for me. What I thought would be a temporary situation to prepare for the ACT turned into a 2 year (and continuing) relationship. Emily not only helped me gain entrance to my top school through getting my best grades and an admissions appeal, but she continues to help me keep my grades in college up through regular FaceTime tutoring sessions (sometimes with very little notice). More than anything, Emily is a mentor and has become almost a part of the family. If you want a tutor who will get to know you and your learning style, Emily is the best.

Michael was very knowledgeable and helpful. He offered concise constructive criticism for my paper without being overbearing. I would definitely work with him again and recommend him to others seeking tutoring, editing, or writing services.

Most of the students I work with are successful. All it takes is a little personal attention to find where a student struggles and a way to help them succeed.
It is our approach to address the best possible methods that work for the student, assists him/her in building confidence in themselves, as they learn to become more flexible in retaining information building on what they already know and adjusting it for their improvements and rendering excitement in learning.

My name is Alex Silverman. Im a rising junior with a major in economics at the University of Rochester, and Im relieved to have a break from snow! I am offering a one-on-one mathematics tutoring service for levels of Calculus I and below. I, myself, have taken math up through Calculus II and have tutored a couple of U of R students in Calculus I. I understand that people learn differently. For this reason, one-on-one tutoring can illuminate concepts that are otherwise not fully understood in a class of 30 students in which the teacher can only explain things in so many ways. I try to understand how the student is approaching the topic so that I may tweak my approach. I am available on weekdays and weekends, after 6:30 p.m. If you are interested, payment can be adjusted depending on your location.

I also have my International TEFL certification and American Red Cross certifications to teach lifeguard training, first aid, CPR, and AED. I currently work as a teacher in the Rochester City School District and it is my 19th year teaching all together.. I was the Aquatics Director for many years at Camp Good Days and Special Times and currently provide local clubs with staff certifications.
