I've been taking voice lessons with Dave for almost a year now, and it's one of the best decisions I've made. I've loved singing my entire life, but I've always felt like I wasn't good enough. It turns out I just needed to tweak my technique. I've definitely improved immensely over the past year, and others (including professional singers) have noticed and complimented me on it as well when I've sang at gigs. I've learned effective warm up techniques, how to control my voice, how my posture and mouth placement are important for my vocals as well, and so much more. He's also very encouraging and patient. I definitely wouldn't sound the way I do today without him. He's given me the confidence to look into performing more in this new year. I'm more motivated than ever to see where my voice can take me and very excited to continue working with him. I was also lucky enough to record a song with him and was able to see what an amazing producer he is as well! Anyone looking for a great, knowledgeable, experienced vocal instructor and producer; look no further! Dave's your man!
Patrick takes a different approach than vanilla voice lessons. He is a voice physiologist so he literally fixes your instrument. The instruction can be intense but it is well worth it. In a short time I have improved in ways I did not think possible. I am looking forward to the coming months to see where my range and ability will be.
David's awesome! very knowledgable , friendly and a truly inspiring teacher. Unfortunately, I don't have time to commit to voice lessons right now, but once I do I most certainly will call David!
I've been taking voice lessons with Rae for about six months now, and I cant believe the amount of improvement I've made within that time frame. I originally didn't intend to take lessons with her, but merely have a coaching session of sorts after my unreliable teacher flaked out on me before an audition. I remember thinking how awkward when she started talking about what we would be working on next week because, well, I didnt think there would be a next week. But there was a next week, and many more to come after that. The amount of improvement I made after just one lesson with Rae was astounding. She is great at explaining the impossible. Rae is dedicated to teaching her students. She doesnt use the lessons as a sing along. She can and will correct your every tendency, but never in a way that is condescending. She truly is a great teacher. I have grown so much thanks to her, and not just musically. Ive become more observant and I feel much more confident. Ive noticed a significant improvement in my musical counting capabilities and overall tone quality when I play the flute. Not only am I learning how to sing but I am also learning bits of music theory along the way. We even alleviated my back pain! Who knew I was overarching?!? I sure didnt. Rae did. Ive come to realize that these are more than just voice lessons. Theyre oftentimes life lessons. I aspire to be on Broadway one day, which is the reason I started taking lessons in the first place, and realize that I should probably learn how to dance. I once said to Rae I cant dance and am not a dancer. A few months later, I changed my mindset and changed that statement to I dont know how to dance. I know understand that I am capable of so much more than I originally thought, and that I just need to learn how to do these things and will eventually discover what my limitations are. With my old teacher I felt as if I had a mediocre range. The highest note I would ever sing with her was a D and she would frequently have me struggling to hit notes far below my lower register. With Rae, I now realize that my range is almost double what I had originally believed it to be. I realize that my voice isn't pretty and wispy and high. I realize that I am strong and am a force to be reckoned with. I realize that I am a beginner who had bad habits and that there is no shame in that. I realize that I should act without hesitating and be big and uninhibited. And I realize I have a really awesome voice teacher.
Mara has been giving voice lessons to my 10 yr old daughter for several months and she is amazing. She makes every lesson fun and engaging. Mara is well trained, a great teacher and an overall awesome woman. We could not recommend her more highly.
I appreciated Ms. Thomas' professionalism & gentle manner. She tuned into a voice issue I've had by hearing me speak. Voice lessons are very intimate & personal. Her easy manner & kindness made it easy to make sounds even not so pretty sounds! She also has a performance workshop once a month where you can bring a song or two. All types of voices, all levels, opera, pop, rock, musical comedy, work on vocal exercises & acting. It's an enjoyable, learning experience. I have a new found confidence. ( at an affordable price) Thumbtack is sort of like a blind date. You're not quite sure who you're meeting & if this will end up being someone who'll be in your life for a time or a 'one time thing'! This was a good match! Thank so much!!
This was my first time taking singing lessons and I was extremely nervous , off rip he made me feel very comfertable and continues taking me to the next level in music , I have a lot of fun everytime I go and I highly recommend him for anyone ! He's so chill and awesome (:
Michelle is an amazing & wonderful teacher! She is animated and engaging and very knowledgable. My eight year old daughter takes piano as well as voice lessons from Michelle, and she really looks forward to their meetings every week! I highly recommend Michelle!!
Anette gave voice lessons to my 11 year old daughter. She was knowledgable, patient, and fun. She worked on songs that my daughter wanted to sing. She was understanding about school schedules. And it was great to be able to hear the entire lesson through dropbox.
Best acting coach I have ever had the pleasure of working with. In one session alone she changed my whole perspective of acting and technique and also gives you career tips as she is very experienced. She gives you an honest assessment and will prepare you well for an audition. I plan on working with her regularly and I definitely recommend others interested in acting do the same!!!!
Very specific to my individual needs in a professional and humorous manner. After just first session he informed me of things about my voice and copy interpretation I've not heard in the previous group setting classes I've taken. Would recomend Tomas for anyone interested in voice over acting.
Tim Russell was truly helpful in teaching me how to sing, and his lessons were always very enjoyable. He is really good at making you feel comfortable in his classes. He understands how to enable a person reach their maximum singing potential. As a beginner, I had no previous training, but he was extremely patient with me and made me feel more comfortable with my singing voice. As our lessons went on, he incorporated more vocal exercises in order to help me achieve new areas with my voice. He was very effective at adapting his coaching while I got better at singing. My voice literally transformed in ways that I had previously thought impossible. I literally went from receiving dirty looks to applause when I sang! All this was done with just 16 lessons with Mr. Russell, and I am eternally grateful. He truly loves his job and is both passionate and knowledgeable about his field, and I strongly recommend him as a vocal coach.
Jamie, my daughter, loves her piano lessons with Anneke Harger. Jamie cannot stop talking about how much she has learned from her lessons. She loves showing off her new piano skills!
I have studied voice and acting under Laury Tatz Herzlin for several years now. Over the years Laury has instilled in me proper and healthy vocal technique and acting technique. Laury creates a safe and open environment in which students are free to explore and express themselves. Laury gives each of her students 100% of her time, her energy, her heart, her art, and her professionalism. The vocal technique Laury teaches is essential for healthy and well produced singing. Laury helps each actor find an emotional truth and depth in each piece they perform. When working on monologues Laury will assist students in breaking down the piece and discussing what each line means. Due to Laury's extremely impressive resume she is able to bring insightful knowledge of theatre into the studio, knowledge that a student cannot get anywhere else. Laury Tatz Herzlin gives her full support to each student that enters her studio. Working with Laury has allowed me to grow as a person and as a performer, I have learned so much for Laury and that is why I continue to take lessons at her studio. Do not pass up the opportunity to learn from this amazing woman.
I only recently finished my first session with Victoria, but I can already tell that these lessons will be very fruitful in my singing development. She was helpful, insightful, and encouraging
Amazing vocal teacher! Nicky is a great vocal teacher who is kind and patient. She has been working with my 11 year daughter for about 3 years. Nicky makes the extra effort to use age appropriate songs and part of the lesson includes music theory. Win win! My daughter can’t commit to the practice time necessary with an instrument, so we went with vocal lessons with Nicky. With singing she can practice any time and anywhere. Nicky has been able to bring out some beautiful notes, making this mom very proud. Can’t beat the price - she comes to our home and is a very accommodating with our crazy schedule. Again she is an AMAZING vocal teacher!!
I've been taking weekly lessons with Corinn for about 7/8 weeks and cannot believe the improvement. I feel so much more prepared and confident for my upcoming auditions. I can honestly say that I have never had a voice teacher as knowledgeable and as committed to my success as Corinn is. I can't thank you enough Corinn!!
I started meeting with Lisa for one hour vocal sessions twice a month at the beginning of 2013. I am a performer and was looking to improve and feel more in control of my voice when singing. Lisa put me right at ease from the beginning and provided me with specific tools and tricks to begin to achieve my vocal goals. She also has a wonderful balance of professional demeanor with a sense of humor, which kept me both comfortable and focused. She encourages open communication and answers any questions I have during the process with honesty and clarity. I can honestly say that my voice has never felt better or more supported when I perform. Thanks, Lisa!
As I am away at College currently, and not able to take lessons in person, mandi is advising me on exercises I can do to improve my breathing and support, as well as the placing of my voice and improving my ability to sing on pitch. She has been very kind and patient, as well as immediately responsive to my questions. I look forward to meeting her in person when I am home from College and to taking lessons in person. I would recommend her to any student who is looking for a voice teacher."
Those of you who have had voice lesson in the past know how hard it is to find a quality voice teacher. Someone who knows what they are talking about and know how to teach you what they know. Michael Kelly is one of those teachers.
Will, a brilliant singer and performer, is a very knowledgeable, encouraging and generous teacher. He was very respectful of my time, responsive to my vocal concerns and adjusted very well to changes in my work schedule. When he had to be out of town singing for an extended period of time, he provided me with an interim voice teacher who he knew well and trusted. I recommend him without reservation.
