I never thought I'd ever have to hire a Private investigator. I don't anyone actually thinks they will either.. and I couldn't have stumbled upon a better company or a better private investigator than Stephon. I am very grateful to him for all of his help. On a scale from 1-5 he deserves at least a 10.

Frank Mason is who you want to work with. I've have worked with many private security contractors (running private parties) and Frank Mason is by far the most professional, upright, honest and knowledgeable of the business. Most recently Frank Mason provided security for a party that my organization ran. Everything went smooth and without a hitch. When I say smooth, I mean everyone was safe, no fights, no cops and the event was clean. This is a direct contribution to Frank Mason Services and what we as promoters look for in security contractors. Would work with him again.

I was a bit nervous to hire a Private Investigator, not knowing what to expect but meeting with Mr. Campbell settled my nerves completely. I discussed my concerns and revealed why I needed his services. Mr Campbell was professional and patient and I quickly realized I was in safe hands. My case was resolved promptly and effectively. I have nothing but positive reviews to give this company and will be using and recommending CIG, LLC for all future cases.

Kenji came highly recommend to me through some close friends. Quite frankly, I was going through some difficult times in my life and found myself requiring his services. Professionalism doesn't even begin to describe his persona and belief system. He has years of experience to back his professionalism. My primary concern was his confidentiality, which he proved to be outstanding with! If you find yourself needing his services, you will not be disappointed. I have personally referred Kenji to several friends of whom also have had wonderful success with. To be blunt, Kenji is a top-notch private investigator with the knowledge, experience, and psychological mindset to achieve results. Hire him. You will not be disappointed.

My ex-spouse was slacking off on making child support payments for our 7 year old child, and said that he was disabled and therefore not able to work. After doing some research I came across Darrin's agency and found out of his many years of experience in the private investigation industry. He's appeared on the NY Times, which further establishes his credibility. After a thorough consultation, I hired Darrin to conduct a child custody investigation on my ex. During the 3 days of surveillance, Darrin's team of expert agents were able to uncover my ex at the gym, jogging outdoors, even working! A thorough report was given to me, along with supporting evidence such as still shots. I was able to take this to family court and have child support payments enforced. Thanks Darrin for the great job!

We know you are going through a difficult time, if you need our services in regards to such a delicate matter as relationship fidelity. We will attempt to make the process as painless as possible, and be extremely discreet in our services. A rule of thumb in infidelity cases is to catch the subject and third party at least two to three times to establish a pattern of conduct. - Background Searches Depending on what is required, we search for criminal records and or assets on individuals and business’ involving employment, business ownership, property, bank accounts, motor vehicles, judgments, etc. This may also be used for divorce proceedings, civil judgments, etc. - Accident Investigations Automobile accident liability claims investigation. Insurance claims that are based on liability for an automobile accident require an investigation into negligence. Determining the causes of an accident follows the detailed investigation. The goal of this analysis is to determine how much the negligence of any party contributed to the accident. This portion of fault then becomes the basis of the liability claim. To determine the liability, the accident usually needs to be reconstructed, based on the evidence found in the investigation. In addition, we now offer the service of court papers, for both in state and out of state courts. Our prices are competitive with local servers, but our services far exceed their's as we are licensed and bonded, we are held to a higher standard, plus we love to hunt not simple stop by and drop off your documents and say we made x amount of attempts. Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

What does a private investigator do?

First and foremost, good private investigators follow laws. Unlike on TV, they don’t break in windows or hack into hospital computer systems to get you intel. When you hire a private investigator, you’re hiring a professional to gather facts and find information for you. Although they can’t obtain certain information (such as health records), they do have access to information that most civilians do not. Often private investigators are hired to perform surveillance or background checks or investigate cases such as adultery, child custody, missing persons, hidden assets, or debugging, and theft or other crimes.

Private investigators can be hired to interview people and provide that information to the client, perform photo or video surveillance, monitor activity at a location where you suspect criminal activities or questionable behavior, track a person’s movements, find missing people, do deep-dive background checks, and more. Private investigation can be helpful if you’re trying to get a court order but need evidence. Private investigators can also help find birth parents. Nationally, the average price range for private investigation is $70-$210 per hour.

What does a private investigator cost?

Private investigation isn’t just for blockbuster action movies. Hiring a private investigator can help in all kinds of situations ranging from finding a birth parent to improving personal security. Nationally, the average price range for private investigation is $70-$210, although pricing often hovers between $40 and $100 depending on the complexity of the services you need. Where you live in the country will affect your costs for private investigation; larger cities have higher business overhead and a higher cost of living, which in turn means higher service rates. The complexity of your case can also affect cost. A basic background check may have a flat rate, while hiring a private investigator to help with your child custody case may require more legwork and research, and therefore cost more. Some private investigators work on retainer. A retainer is essentially a nonrefundable deposit you pay to the professional — meaning you have retained their services — who then works against that amount. Here are some examples of average private investigation costs:

  • Hourly rate: $60-$70; costs can vary based on current fuel prices.
  • Flat rate: $100 for comprehensive background investigation services.
  • Retainer: $1,500 minimum retainer required by some pros before starting work.
Hire skilled professionals for absolutely everything.
