Morgan S. says, "I am going into my third lesson next week with Steve and could not be happier with my experience! Steve is very kind, knowledgeable, patient, and overall has been a great teacher! I was wary to start online lessons with an instrument I was completely unfamiliar with, but I already feel so much more comfortable and confident! So much better than fumbling on my own! I’m looking forward to my continued banjo education, thank you so much Steve!"See more

Kay M. says, "EXCELLENT! I am truly Greatful for my child to be under the instruction of Mr. Derrickson. My 10 year old daughter has studied piano under Mr. John Derrickson at Miami Valley Music Instruction for over three years, and the growth has been remarkable. She was completely new in learning this instrument. Under his guidance, she is learning to become fluent in reading music, can sing while playing, and receives valuable lessons on the history and origins of the music she performs. Mr. Derrickson is more than an instructor he is a gifted educator who creates meaningful challenges, motivates his students to give their best, and truly aims for their success. Because of his guidance, my daughter has performed at schools, churches, and community events receiving standing ovations, repeated invitations, and even monetary gifts from appreciative audiences. Adding voice lessons this past year has expanded her knowledge and given her even greater confidence in performing before large crowds. I am truly grateful for this phenomenal teacher who is patient and continues to guide and inspire my daughter, not only in the art of music but also in developing self-confidence and professionalism. I highly recommend Mr. Derrickson for anyone seeking exceptional, inspiring music instruction. Thank you!!"See more

Gurleen K. says, "Scotty is singlehandedly the best guitar teacher I have ever hired, and this statement comes from someone who has been taking guitar lessons since 2011. What sets Scotty apart is his remarkable ability to listen attentively while simultaneously pushing me to surpass my limited knowledge of the guitar. Instead of relying on rote memorization, he instills in me a deep understanding of the instrument. One of the things I appreciate most about Scotty is his knack for tailoring our lessons to suit my individual needs and aspirations. This personal touch truly sets apart Scotty's teaching style and ensures a unique experience for each student. Furthermore, Scotty is incredibly accommodating when it comes to scheduling. He understands that life can be unpredictable, and if I ever need to cancel a lesson, within the 24-window notice, he is understanding and flexible. Additionally, he goes the extra mile by sending me detailed notes after each session, allowing me to practice effectively and make progress between lessons. Scotty's supportive nature creates an environment where I feel comfortable enough to sing and explore my creative side. Above all, Scotty's genuine passion for the guitar shines through in every interaction. I consider myself incredibly fortunate and honored to be his student. Thank you, Scotty, for your dedication and expertise. I eagerly look forward to our upcoming lesson on Wednesday!"See more

Guitar and Bass Lessons by Trent

Guitar and Bass Lessons by Trent

I have been taking lessons from Trent for a month or so now and he is great. I have been playing guitar for almost 19 years and decided to go back and learn theory and enjoy it a ton. He is able to break thoughts down and explain them in a way one can understand. Highly recommended!!
