Sheila is professional and has taught both of my daughters so many new things in a short period of time. They both look forward to going to lessons. She has a beautiful voice too.
When I began to get into the material, there were new and clever methods of memorizing techniques and theory that I had never seen nor heard of in all my years of taking lessons. The memorization techniques are clever and easy to remember. I think anyone can learn to play a piano with Miami Valley Music Instructions, even though they may have never played a note in their life.
I highly recommend Junbo for voice lessons. His expertise, experience, & patience make his idea for teaching different ages.
Singing is like playing a sport. Except that all the muscles and technique occur inside the body, out of sight. Kathy has an incredibly attuned ear to listen for exactly what is happening inside your body while you sing, whether you're in her studio or dialing in remotely over Skype. What's more, she seems to have a limitless supply of exercises and tricks to coax the correct technique out of you. Her instructions can connects the sounds in your mind to the feeling of your body creating those sounds for real. I had been trying to figure things out on my own for years and years, practicing with brute force, listening to and imitating my favorite songs, and finding tips or lessons online and anywhere else. With just a handful of lessons, Kathy had me singing with more power, accuracy, and with greater endurance than I thought possible. She endowed me with a toolkit to craft exactly the sound I wanted out of my voice, expanded my vocal range, and even provided practical tips and tricks to surviving a performance, both physical and mental. I should probably add that I lean towards harder rock and roll with an edge in the vocals, and everything Kathy taught only made that easier to achieve. I can't say enough good things about Golden Voice lessons!
Catherine Keen is the most amazing voice teacher we have worked with. From the first meeting she puts the student at ease and listens to their desires and goals regarding music. She brings out the joy of music and makes her lessons fun and educational. Her love of music and singing is contagious, and her teaching methods teach her students not only music, but also self confidence, work ethic and self accomplishment. Her students are better for knowing her.
Blaine was awesome, very professional and I am so excited to learn more. He has taught me things I never could imagine I would know about singing I am looking forward to growing my relationship with him and I would recommend him to anyone learning or needing voice lessons
My daughter took voice lessons with Katherine to prepare for an audition for SCPA. The experience was very positive and she made it into the school! Katherine was patience and professional with her. I would recommend Katherine to anyone!
I have taken singing lessons from Mrs. Sturgis for 3 years now, and I have seriously learned more than I ever thought possible. In just three years, I went from not really knowing how to sing (and only a very basic knowledge of musical notes) to preparing to take music lessons at a college level! And I owe it all to her. She is a phenomenal teacher and I couldn't have asked for a better one. She is incredibly knowledgeable, forever patient, completely dedicated, is always willing to explain things as many times as need be, and maintains an open and pleasant atmosphere which made learning not only educational but incredibly fun and rewarding. She is truly outstanding, and I would recommend her to ANYBODY who wants to learn about music and how to perform it.
Renée is an experienced, well-trained professional who is already helping me use my voice better.
Ms. Nelson is an experienced and professional vocal coach who came highly recommended to us through a respected member of the Cincinnati College Conservatory of Music (CCM). Though my daughter has only been working with Ms. Nelson for 9 months, we've seen her transform from a shy singer into a strong mezzo-soprano, who was recently accepted into the Cincinnati School for Creative and Performing Arts for vocal music. Ms. Nelson teaches strong technique, but is also warm, lively, patient and fun for my daughter. She really enjoys her voice lessons with Ms. Nelson. I highly recommend her for all ages and skill levels.
My son, Alex, says, "Josh is an amazing guitar teacher! He is very knowledgeable in music and is qualified to teach anything from beginner guitar to professional. He has been a joy to work with, someone who can get along with anyone. Josh helped me prepare for my college guitar audition, (which was the primary reason I sought out a teacher this past year) and it went very well, I was awarded lots of scholarship money and was accepted into the music program in Nashville I applied for! He has been so helpful already that I have decided to keep taking lessons from him weekly to better prepare myself for music school this Fall, when I go down to Nashville for the start of my Freshman year! Thank you Josh, you have been a blessing!"
My daughter took voice lessons from this instructor for about one year. She said that the lessons were always fun and that the instructor was strong on warm-ups. The instructor helped my daughter have a greater accuracy in pitch and helped her grow in confidence. This instructor has an incredible voice and is very professional. If you are looking for someone to instruct you or your family member, I highly recommend this instructor!
Hayley was my first ever voice teacher - she was phenomenal! I was so nervous to take lessons, or to sing in front of anyone, and I truly feel like the time I spent working with her made me a better singer. I definitely recommend her!
I've been taking voice lessons with Allison for 4 months. Allison is knowledgable and professional. The lessons are enjoyable and I'm seeing improvement in my singing. I appreciate her willingness to let me choose some of the songs I'm learning and the flexibility to work around my schedule. I'm an older adult who has wanted to take voice lessons for a long time. I'm glad I finally started and that I found the Sharp School of Music.
Every student has a unique talent and unique learning style. My goal is to work with that uniqueness to help build success and a feeling of accomplishment. Classically trained, I not only teach piano techniques but also performance and the history of the musicians. Students have fun and are very motivated!
Talia was my first voice teacher! I was very new to singing in general and she made me feel very comfortable and really took time to work with me. I studied with her for a little over a year and during that time I learned more about singing that I ever thought was possible! She had several different ways of explaining concepts which was great since I was new to singing! She took time out of her weekend to go to operas with me and some other students. She is one of the main people that sparked my interest in singing and I am currently pursuing a Masters degree in Music and I have a bachelors degree in music as well. She is an excellent teacher and I highly recommend her!
Jilian is the nicest person ever! She is so encouraging and sweet. I'm always really hard on myself and my voice, but she coaches me and makes sure that I'm prepared for whatever.
I have a degree in voice with a minor in guitar. I have had a private voice and guitar studio in my home since 1973. I am currently teaching all the guitar classes at Miamisburg High School, and I am also the vocal director of the school. I specialize in guitar students who want to learn how to sing with their instrument, or the vocalist who would love to learn to accompany themselves on guitar. However, I do teach guitar and voice separately, if that is your desire. I specialize in "proper" vocal and guitar technique, and I teach many genres and styles of music.
White Music Studio offers private instruction in voice, piano, and organ. The instructor holds a bachelor of music education and a master's degree in church music from a Northern Kentucky University and Trinity Lutheran Seminary, respectively.
The purpose of the Well Oiled Vocal Studio is to provide each student with the tools they need to produce easy and beautiful sounds in all genres, using practical instruction and positive reinforcement. I specializes in college -- prep as well as postgraduate repertoire. My audition knowledge and close relationship with many voice faculty around the country helps my sense of repertoire choices for young and mature singers alike. Though all students are welcome to audition, the private studio does not take students younger than thirteen years old.
I offer private vocal training for the classical singer or anyone who just wants to learn how to sing. I also provide theory and music history training.
