Aracely tutored me in my college level Spanish class. She was an excellent tutor. She was very creative in finding ways to  help me memorize vocabulary and patient in helping me improve my  pronunciation. It is with her assistance I was able to conquer conjugations and other rules and concepts in Spanish. Aracely was a successful tutor being she possess the ability to dissect and explain the content in a way that brought me more clarity, making concepts more transparent and understanding easier for the me. Not only does she have the skills to teach concepts but she is very patient and encouraging. I would recommend her to anyone looking for a great quality tutor!

My impression after the first lesson: It seems my granddaughter and I have made a great choice in deciding to hire Susan! We are excited because she has already been helpful and can see why she has a successful track record in ACT preparation and mathematics tutoring.

I am a professional spanish native speaker that have been raised and born in a spanish speaking country. I went to the school and university in spanish. It is my first language and I am currently teaching spanish for a renowned international language company. The spanish that I teach is the "real proper spanish", is not the "TV spanish", so you can use what you'll learn at work, business meetings, interviews, university, school, trip to any spanish country, etc.

8+ years of Spanish teaching from school age to university level. Skilled in assessing students needs, creating objetives and work plans to meet your goals.

I am a qualified teacher from Latin America who teaches Portuguese and Spanish for all levels and ages. With the methodology used, you will really learn how to speak Spanish/Portuguese. It is understandable that students want to understand and make themselves understood in a cultural context. Of course grammar is necessary for this, but you will enjoy the classes while you learn! I have been teaching Spanish and Portuguese for 15 years and have developed a great many resources to make the lessons fun and lively. The classes are highly focused on the development of communication skills (speaking, listening, reading, and writing). As a teacher, I have won several quality certifications for the excellent results in the educational field.

I am a fully bilingual, a native Spanish speaker, with over 10 years’ trajectory in tutoring and with experience as Teaching Assistant and Substitute Teacher in Beaver County School District.I have a Bachelor's degree in Language and Literature and a Master's degree in Mass Communication, and a passion for writing and effective usage of language. My English and Spanish language skills are complemented by my proficiency in additional romance languages (French and Italian) for better in-depth understanding of the language, and a valuable resource when it comes to meaningful and memorable explanations about grammar, vocabulary, idioms, exceptions and nuances. My Spanish accent is generic, which is most practical to adopt in the United States than a particular one from so many countries that make up our Hispanic population. Having traveled and lived in a number of different Spanish countries, exposed to the varied Hispanic language diversity, I am able to help students preserve pronunciation from a specific country, if that were part of the language goal. Individuals as well as teachers who are not native Spanish speakers, tend to adopt the Spanish accent from a particular country where they have taken residence, which is unavoidably adopted by their language students and often unintentionally exaggerated.

I speak Spanish. I can help you with your transcriptions. If you are interested to learn Spanish, I can help you.

I offer Spanish tutoring for all ages at the beginner and intermediate levels. I can help students better understand grammar concepts and advise them on more effective memorization techniques for vocabulary. I will also provide additional exercises and practice worksheets if needed upon assessing the student's level and learning needs. I am a very open person and will make sure the student feels comfortable asking me questions when they are confused about something.

No matter what a student's age or background, I believe that every single person has the right to an education that best suits him or her. I know that learning a foreign language does not always come easily to all people, but that's why I am here. I am committed to making each learning experience not only successful and informative, but also fun and motivating as well. I have training in differentiated instruction; I can and will mold each and every lesson to my individual students to ensure comprehension.

I teach the Spanish language at all levels -- high school, college, travel, and business. I have taught Spanish for 25 years for business and personal travel, as well as having taught high school Spanish at all levels.

Hello! I offer piano lessons with a focus on reading sheet music and playing classical piano. Lessons can be tailored to beginners with no piano knowledge, or those with some or more background. This offering is ideal for anyone simply desiring to expand their musical knowledge by learning basic piano, or those wanting tutoring to improve their current piano skills. I have two Master of Music Degrees from Duquesne University - one in Piano Performance and another in Organ Performance and have more than 10 years of piano teaching experience. As desired, I can provided different methods of teaching: Alfred, Piano Advention, John Tompson, and others.

As my students are learning, I like to help them conceptualize how the language works. All languages have been influenced by other languages since the beginning of time. I love using 'cognates' (words in the language we are studying that are similar to ours) to help a student remember vocabulary and verbs more quickly.

I am a native Spanish speaking teacher. I have been tutoring and teaching children for the past 4 years. I understand the advantages of learning a second language in this global economy, so I will push you to accomplish your goals.

    Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

What does a Spanish tutor do?

The goal of a Spanish tutor is to help students improve their Spanish reading, writing, comprehension, and conversation skills. The tutor’s approaches may vary, depending on whether the instruction is individual or a group class. Many Spanish tutors practice immersion — meaning they will speak only Spanish with their pupils. For students with little to no Spanish experience, the Spanish tutor may use a mix of Spanish and English to accustom their students to speaking the language.

A Spanish tutor can offer a wide range of services to their students. For students currently enrolled in a Spanish class through their middle school or high school, a Spanish tutor can help them with homework and language practice, as well as expanding their understanding of their current school curriculum. For adults, Spanish tutors will have different approaches based on that student’s need. Academics and those seeking high-level professional development for their career will often have more intensive and targeted lessons, drills, and interactive speaking tests. For adults who wish to learn conversational Spanish for fun or for travel, lessons may revolve around learning commonly used phrases and practicing speaking in relaxed settings.

How much do Spanish tutors charge?

Nationally, the average cost for a Spanish tutor ranges from $30 to $40 per hour. The cost for a Spanish tutor can vary depending on whether you choose private instruction or group lessons. Geographic location can affect cost; tutors in expensive cities and pricier regions command higher rates than in rural areas and small towns. The experience and education of the Spanish tutor will also affect their rates. For adult education, many people learning Spanish choose to join a Spanish school with tutors who teach group classes and also offer private tutoring for students. Typically these schools charge a monthly tuition that gives students access to a set number of classes per week, with private tutoring available at an additional cost. One example of an average cost is a monthly tuition of $200, which includes five 90-minute group lessons per month. Monthly tuition can vary depending on the school and the teachers. Short-term workshops are also a way to learn Spanish. Students may work with a Spanish tutor and group of other students at their skill level for a short period of time. One example of an average price is $100 for an eight-week course, with one 60-minute group class per week.
