Introduction: As a martial arts professional, there is no one in the state who has the experience or credentials that Master Jim Butin has. He has competed on the US Team that was unfeated in Europe in 1974, and won the Silver Medal in Seoul Korea in the 1st World Tae Kwon Do Championships in 1973. He has over 40 black belt titles in sparring competitions throughout the US and has won four national championships in Black Belt fighting. He was rated #2 in the world for four years in the light heavy weight division in the PKA. He is a ninth degree black belt and has operated martial arts studios in Okc since 1973. These accomplishments are great, but the main emphasis in training at National Karate Inc. is to replicate these successes to our members, to help children to have confidence in their abilities, to protect them from bullies, and to strengthen responsibility and discipline and promote better fitness in everyone! Good luck! Jim Butin

FAQs

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

Yes, every year our instructors attend the three day MAIA convention in Las Vegas. We attend seminars on how to present our instruction more effectively to increase retention and offer a better product to our members! Monthly we receive periodicals on the latest trends in the martial arts business and newest ideas on improving service. Good luck! Jim Butin

  • What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

There are good plumbers and bad plumbers and there are some real bozo's in the martial arts business as well! Check the credibility of any instructor by googleing his name, no results, stay away! Don't start on any program longer than two months, this will insure that you can observe classes and that you or your child is in a good studio based on the info you have observed, and the attention and progress you have received! Remember, just because the instructor is wearing a black belt does not mean that he or she is proficient! There are many who put one on without actually earning it! Good luck - Jim Butin
