I got a wild hair and decided to start violin lessons at 55 y/o with no prior experience. Mirabai has been very supportive and encouraging, and is an excellent instructor.
Chris, my instructor for violin lessons, is great! It is clear he typically works with children, but is personable and, as an adult, has escalated the learning process to save time. I fully intend to continue getting lessons through Chris, and the owner (Brian I believe), was very responsive to emails.
Andrew has been helping my 5-year old daughter learn how to play violin and he's been an awesome teacher for her. Andrew has been the perfect combination of a highly-skilled professional violinist and a patient/ fun/ understanding teacher for my daughter. He has an easy-to-understand/follow teaching style and makes sure that she is following his instruction every step of the way. He provides my daughter with easy-to-follow homework assignments at the end of each lesson and appropriately encourages her to practice in between lessons. His studio is very spacious and easy to access. I highly recommend him as a teacher.
Grace is an outstanding music teacher. My daughter was so excited to try Violin, and Grace was the perfect teacher for her. Grace was extra patient with my daughter, who is blind in one eye, and went out of her way to make my daughter feel comfortable and empowered her to believe she could play violin. She adjusted her lessons accordingly and found perfect ways to communicate complex music and violin lessons to a 7 year old. I highly recommend Grace to anyone looking to expand their musical talents. She is a very talented musician, super smart and an wonderful teacher.
Denice is a genius at teaching children from her many years of experience. My children are not only learning violin, they are learning valuable life lessons from her. I also take lessons from her and her ability to put into words exactly what I need to do to learn the step I'm working on is magical. All children and adults who want to learn violin should have the privilege of being taught by Denice.
I had always wanted to learn violin, but at nearly 60 years old I was told by different people I was too old. But Jenny gave me the confidence to learn, and I was able to actually learn a lot, for being a person who had to start from scratch, I didn't know music notes or anything, she is patient, she genuinely cares about teaching and has a passion for helping any age person learn to play the violin.
Alexis is an I incredible musician. I took lessons from Alexis for almost 4-5 years and the bond we created was so special, my talent and passion continued to grow throughout this time. She is so passionate about her music and will do anything to help her students succeed.
My son has been taking violin lessons with Diane for 18 months. He was a brand-new beginner with one week of experience from summer camp. He fell in love with the violin there. His goal is to play Irish fiddle tunes. Diane offers a truly unique combination - she is a skilled violin instructor, classically trained with a strong focus on technique, and a BrainGym instructor, with insight on how to help my son integrate new information when he gets stuck. It's still amazing to me how a five-minute session of BrainGym exercises in the middle of a lesson can help move him right past a hurdle. I really appreciate how mindfully Diane approaches each lesson. She always meets my son with where he's at on that day. There are no cookie-cutter lessons. Last year, Diane taught my son a simple fiddle bowing so he could accompany the more advanced players during their concert. That's the kind of thing that keeps a 10 y.o. motivated. And because of that, now he's able to join in at a monthly kids' bluegrass jam. I feel very lucky to have found Diane.
I was lucky to take violin lessons with Terry. It was clear to me that he knows the instrument well and has the patience to explain it. I especially recommend him to people who want to learn the violin and are willing to show determination and commitment in their study.
Maggie is a wonderful teacher! i am very happy worh her.

Learn playing violin with heart and passion. I am a full-time violinist and teacher trained in Europe and United States. I have been very lucky to have studied the Suzuki method with John Kendall, the famous teacher whose effort brought this Japanese approach to violin pedagogy to the US. I also teach traditional European method, mainly influenced by Ivan Galamian. It is with this method that I learned to play violin as a child in Prague and continued in the conservatory. More information, including my full bio, testimonials from my students and a list of upcoming concerts can be found on my website.
