I needed to have new door locks installed so he came over to do that and also fixed a loose faucet - very quickly and well, and he cleaned up afterward. I especially liked that Jody would suggest a better way of doing something if he knew of one, and that he took such good care of my house. He didn't want to make a hole in something if there was another way to do it, for example. I would hire him again, for sure.
Glenn tiled our tub/shower enclosure and installed a pocket door. The job was completed in a timely manner and his work was excellent. He was easy to work with and offered useful suggestions for saving money and ways to make the end product look and function better. Glenn is very competent and versified, we would not hesitate to use him again or recommend him to anyone needing handyman services.
Zeev was contacted to do a couple of projects in our home (plumbing, tub door, and install new stove). He was prompt everyday and did additional small jobs as well. He did an excellent job. My husband and I was completed satisfied with the quality of work Zeev did for us. We highly recommend his services.
I am absolutely delighted to have my sliding patio door working properly again thanks to I Can Handyman. Starting with the responsive communication including detailed quote with the scope of work through on time arrival, excellent problem solving ability, replacement parts sourcing, and cleaning afterward I would highly recommend Stacey for any handyman job.
Couldnt have asked for more! Problem: Single parent; limited budget; 80 feet of old rotting fence; holes under another 80 feet of newer fence; 3 dogs; no experience with tools; nothing but bad experiences with contractors causing complete lack of trust for most service providers. Solution: John Chambers and A&C Innovative Contractors. The name says it all, innovative solutions was exactly what I needed in order to fix the issues that put my animals and home at risk, while staying within a limited budget, and its what I got. After getting quotes from many of the big fence companies in town that wanted literally thousands of dollars for labor to replace fence boards on existing steel fence posts (about 4 hrs of work), and contacting dozens of so called fencers on Craigs list to have zero responses, I had given up for this years dry season, and was very frustrated. So frustrated that I hesitated to contact another soul about the fence and was patching what I could, with what I could find. I stumbled upon Thumbtack and decided Id try one last time. I received 4 responses; I communicated with 3 of them and got a response only from John at A&C. We set a time for him to look at the property and he arrived right on time and within an hour of our call. He was working across town and made a special effort to provide an estimate quickly. He walked the area, let me share my concerns, then offered multiple options from replacing the whole fence, to using existing solid pieces, suggesting what work I could do to keep the budget down, and also seeing the issue I had with holes under another part of a newer fence, suggested a solution that he could incorporate into his schedule and still stay within my budget for the old fence replacement. The main part of the work was done within days, the fence is beautiful, and its curved which added some complexity. In passing I mentioned that I was very unhappy with the quality of the boards that were on sections of my fence that was only 2 years old. John ended up hand picking over 160 cedar boards to find perfect boards with no holes, splits or twists. I could not be happier, while my trust in service providers in general is still low; my trust in A&C Innovative Contractors is over the top. I will use this company for any and all needs in the future. Their quality, commitment and communications is above and beyond just about anything you will find out there. In total, I met 3 people working for this company and all 3 were above reproach. They dug in, worked crazy hard, in very hot conditions, were very sensitive to my needs and expectations, super friendly and provide really excellent service. I even had tire problems on my truck and was taken advantage of by a local tire dealer on one of the days they were here, when hearing this, John didn't hesitate to say 'hey next time you questions something like that, call me and I'll help you find a better solution'. Trust me folks, give these guys a try, you will not be disappointed. I feel like I finally have that support that I can call on when I need something that I just can't do myself. Linda SE Portland
I had a great experience working with Daniel. He laid laminate flooring in three rooms and covered a set of my stairs in laminate too. Bidding and Planning: Daniel was thoughtful, responsive, and patient through the planning and decisioning process. He worked hard to understand my needs and budget and made excellent suggestions on products I should consider. Scheduling and Working: Daniel gave me options and worked to fit my job into his work schedule. Overall, he was very timely. Once when Daniel was running late, he texted to tell me. I felt very comfortable with Daniel in my home. He kept careful track of accounting for materials and handled my money with care. Daniel was thorough in his work. He carefully removed baseboard molding, removed carpet, hauled carpet away, purchased sub-flooring, installed sub-flooring, installed laminate flooring, reinstalled baseboards, re-caulked baseboards (they looked perfect), covered my stairs with laminate, and installed a metal nose on my stairs. Finishing the Job: Daniel cleaned up after himself along the way. He also cleaned thoroughly when the job was complete. I was very impressed with Daniel's commitment to making things right. An example of this was my hinged closet-style door. The door was carefully removed before work began. The last task Daniel completed was reinstalling that tough door. Because the flooring underneath the door had changed in both style and height, the door needed to be readjusted. Daniel made the necessary adjustments, but the old door with its aging tracks and hardware were stubborn. It would have been easy for Daniel to shortcut that door reinstallation, but he stayed longer that he expected to make sure the door worked well. That door works better for me now than it ever has. I rate Daniel as both excellent work-quality and an excellent overall value. I will likely have him install new countertops for me soon.
Danny installed a pre-hung front door for us in about 2 hours and it's been working great. The door swings open and closed smoothly and we don't have any complaints. Danny was a few hours late but his quality of work made up for the inconvenience.
there isn't going to be room for all the great things we have to say about Eric Fowler. Quick to respond by both phone and email. Came to the house a gave a quote the next day. send a text apologizing that he was going to be 10 minutes late - who is that courteous anymore? a very reasonable quote, made sure we signed a contract to protect us both. He started the next day !!! He asked lots of questions to make sure he understood what we wanted and inquired at several intervals wondering if the work completed to date was to our satisfaction. we now have excellent storage shelves in the garage and 2 other locations, doors and windows that work, new and freshly painted linen drawers and many other upgrades. Eric is polite, a hard worker, and honest. He is knowledgeable regarding how to do the job the right way but also has tips to help save you $$. He and his crew cleaned up after themselves and were a pleasure to have in our home We now have an "Eric list" for all of our next projects we are lining up. He has so many great reviews, we'll be lucky to get him back. Hiring Fresh Painting and Remodeling for your next project is a no brainer.
The job was more complicated than expected, but completed very well. My door and wall look like new.
Our family had just moved into a new home and we needed an easy to use staircase from the deck down to the yard which also needed fencing for the dogs. We found ThumbTack by chance and choose A1 Retrofit because of the reasonable quote given us. We are sure glad we DID choose to use A1 Retrofit because we got great value for our investment and attention to detail that we might not have gotten from anyone else. Great salesmanship, very competent and amenable contractors, and Brad is just plain nice and easy to get along with. How often do you find all of those traits in a business in this 'get-it-done' quickly world?? And, 2 particular dogs couldn't be happier with a nice fenced yard and easy access to the door upstairs !
In summary, Vince was honest, prompt, professional and thorough. I had originally hired another individual from thumbtack who was in over his head but said he could complete the job. After 2 weeks of showing up (and not showing up) it became clear he didn't know how to complete the job and he suggested I contact another individual through Thumbtack. Vince came the next day, finished the project with in 24 hours, and fixed all of the errors the other individual had made. He didn't just "do" what I asked him, he did it the right way and tweaked things he saw were wrong (ie. he didn't just change the hardware on the door but adjusted it while it was doing it so it wasn't so hard to open/close). He cleaned up after himself, took all the debris with him and made suggestions along the way. I will be using him going forward for additional work.
Phil is fantastic! He arrived on time, did not waste any time getting to the list of repairs we had for him. First, he looked at all the items and determined what would be needed to complete the repair. He made a list of things to be purchased and was out the door to make those purchases and was back in short time. He got right to work, had everything completed quickly and to detail. He noticed a few other small repairs and made those quickly, also. He seemed to be very knowledgeable and willing to take most any project on. We will definitely be use g him again.
When I began the project of getting the carpets on my upstairs replaced with laminate flooring, I shuddered with the complexity of what I was undertaking. First of all, I live on a floating home, and the closest parking lot is about 75 yds to my front door up and down a fairly steep ramp. Obstacle two was the stairway to my second floor is rather narrow and very steep. The third challenge was, upstairs, is both my bedroom, full of HEAVY log furniture, as well as my elaborate ( and BIG ) home theatre room, solid oak LARGE desk, book cases and other big and heavy furniture. The bottom line Chad and his second in command ( I believe it was Chris ) never stopped to so much as to blink when estimating the job and costs. Their bid was much MUCH lower than the next best bids. They showed up on schedule and attacked the project like two seasoned pros. Thats was what a nice person would say. Me, I saw it like ... two men "possessed". ;-) They had just two days to tear out all the old carpet, tack strips, and pad and haul that HUGE mess away ( up the ramps and across the parking lot ) and then to haul box after box, AFTER BOX, of laminate flooring from the parking lot, down the ramps, and down the walkway to my home and then up those narrow and steep stairs. UNBELIEVABLE !!!!! Oh lets not forget to mention all the HUGE power tools and table saws and other big equipment they have to do a remarkable and totally PROFESSIONAL JOB. They jumped on the job at 8 a.m. on a Thursday morning and worked well past 6 p.m. and then right back at it on Friday and by around 8 p.m., VOILA A MASTERPIECE. I have NEVER ever been more satisfied with a home remodel than with Chad Rayon and his company Start to Finish Construction. I would be delighted to call him back for any future remodeling work or project that would come up in the future, and would recommend him without the slightest reservation to both friends or family. Sincerely, Richard Slackman firstname.lastname@example.org
I needed a new sliding glass door which was complicated by the fact there was wood rot around the door. After picking out a door at Lowes they said the couldnt do it re the wood rot. Max found a comparable door with a competitive price. After removing the current door he was able to repair the wood rot and install the new door which I'm thrilled with.
Gary cut out two portions of rotted wood at the bottom of the door jambs on the outside of a French door. he replaced wood sanded and painted. He also painted the wood portion of a glass door.
Roman was thoughtful, detailed and honest. He did a number of projects for us including installing wood paneling behind our tv and hanging our tv, as well as fixing my daughter’s closet door and installing motion sensor lights in our garage. Everything works and looks amazing. We are looking forward to using him again on our other projects.
One of my most best experiences with a Thumbtack provider. Very professional, very communicative, and finished the job in promised time frame. They had come out to install a new front door, that wasn't an easy task! Installed a new walk in closet storage, per my verbal input on what I wanted done, and accomplished and I was very pleased. Can't go wrong with these guys!
We hired John to build cabinets for a complete custom kitchen remodel project and two custom bathrooms. The cabinets are all solid plywood and finished in a beautiful figured walnut. John’s attention to detail is nothing short of stellar! He matched the grain patterns from the top cabinets to the bottom cabinets and all the trim was perfectly cut and installed. Our project was quite extensive and because of the very fine quality of work we even had John finish five custom solid core doors for us. From the doors, to the custom freestanding oven hood, it’s all top quality work! Needless to say, I would highly recommend him to anyone interested in artisan quality work! John is a true craftsman. We employed Scott on a number of occasions as we maintained and remodeled our condominium in Lake Oswego. When equipment maintenance was required Scott was prompt and efficient in responding. When we began to implement an upgrade plan we sought out Scott to install new flooring, upgrade the ventilation system, install new plumbing fixtures, hang new doors, etc. We were very pleased with the final work product. The upgrade was completed in a timely and professional manner, and, most important, when unexpected structural challenges were faced Scott was able to identify the problem, propose options to address those challenges, and implement the chosen action seamlessly. Problems solved. We highly recommend Scott.
