Tammy was great! We hired her last minute and she was definitely the missing piece of my crazy wedding planning puzzle. I didn’t have to worry about anything the day of, as I got ready in a location separate from the venue. It was all ready, and perfect when I arrived! I would recommend Tammy again hands down again and again.

My husband and I met with Krysta in a Skype session- we live back east. We sought to find a planner who would help with everything in our wedding planning process because we were too far away to do it ourselves. She was literally amazing! She went above and beyond to find us the perfect venue. She went to many venues, took videos and uploaded them so we could get a virtual feel for them. After we decided on a venue, she even negotiated a better deal for us and saved of more than $300! Krysta was just so helpful at every step along the way. Once we selected the venue, she sent us ample vendors to select from, she mailed us samples of linens and napkins, etc. She even checked reviews for us! We rented items from her locker and were so happy to have saved to much because we used her rentals. Her inventory is crazy-huge! We used wooden doors, chandeliers, linens, place settings and bird cages. They were perfect! After all of the vendors were selected, Krysta helped us design all of the elements of our wedding to make it look like all of the pins on Pinterest! The day of went smoothly- she arrived with 2 staff members, although we thought she would have 3. In the end, she had the venue setup just as I envisioned it would be with a full hour to spare before our guests arrived. It was STUNNING! She remembered every detail! Our vendors all arrived on time and I later learned the arbor blew over just moments before we came down the isle but she was a pro- she got it back up in no time and no none but my guests saw her and her assistant scrambling to get it back up and in time so I didn't see it and freak out! LOL She was so creative, thoughtful and her staff were polite and super helpful. Every time I had a need for something, it's like she read my mind and was already there next to me with it in her hand! lol Literally, Krysta was a blessing for our destination wedding. I would highly recommend her for your destination wedding!

While MaKenna has been pursuing her wedding planning and coordination business for a year and a half at full throttle, her poise and professionalism makes it seem as though she has 20 years of experience in the business! She has a calming demeanor that is exactly what I needed as a stressed bride with a busy job and little time to plan my own wedding. We started working with her a year before our event and she was there to help coach us every step of the away as questions arose. She returns emails, texts and phone calls promptly, puts care into every bit of communication, and anticipates bride/groom needs in a way that's nothing short of impressive. Due to my husband and I's planning, we actually ran out of booze the first few hours of our wedding. But fear not! MaKenna guided our staffing team to make a Safeway run during the event, informed us (the bride/groom) of the extra purchase so it wasn't a shocker later, and our guests never even noticed. That's one of many examples of how MaKenna knows how to solve a problem without it ever turning into an issue. I also wanted to point out that she's great in handling varied bride-groom opinions. My husband and I didn't agree on some things throughout our wedding planning process and every time we had differing opinions in front of MaKenna, she calmly suggested solutions that met both of our concerns or pointed out if something didn't need to be discussed further, i.e. move on to the bigger ticket items vs. over-discussing details. I appreciated this as it helped us with momentum in our planning. I'm super confident that MaKenna's business will continue to thrive in the years to come! Thanks, MaKenna! We truly couldn't have done this without you.

Premium Catering Service. was used by Karly and Jose Corona June 23,2005 for their wedding. It was an out-door affair at the Overland House in Portland Or. The ceremony and reception were held in the backyard. After the ceremony the guests were escorted to the front yard and served hors doeuvres while the crew set up the reception in the back. Guests returned to a lovely sight -white clothed tables set with flowers and candles, lights twinkling in the trees, soft music - everything Karly and Jose had dreamed of. The buffet was set up and food artfully arranged - all the dishes the bride and groom had requested and it was all delicious. The caterers were all attentive, efficient and very pleasant. Given they did not have a rehearsal for this event everything went very smoothly and was so much fun thanks to all their great work. While the bride and groom enjoyed their lovely reception and their guests the caterers cleaned up impeccably and quietly stole away. I would highly recommend Premium Catering Service for any function large or small - they will do a great job. Janet Nesbitt (Karlys Grandmother).

I hired Jen McNutt-Bloom as the wedding planner for my son's wedding in Eugene this July. His new bride and he live in Hong Kong, so although they were consulted on decisions regarding their wedding, most of the wedding planning fell on my shoulders. I hired Jen last summer after she was highly recommended by the wedding coordinator at Sweet Cheeks Winery, the venue for the wedding. Jen helped me every step of the way, making recommendations for caterers, florists, DJs, photographers, etc. and letting me decide what worked with our budget. She was very generous with her time, communicating with me by phone, email, and in-person meetings, and connecting with the bride and groom by Skype and email. Her knowledge and experience in planning weddings in the Eugene area were invaluable, and her creativity, enthusiasm, and warmth were also greatly appreciated. She also was extremely helpful to me in planning a Welcome Dinner at our home. I highly recommend Jen to anyone looking for a local wedding planner. She's a winner and you can't go wrong!

Jessica was the best choice we made when planning our wedding. She coordinated everything from the rehearsal dinner to the events on the big day. We had four kids under 10 in the wedding and she worked with them one on one to help things run smoothly. The day of our wedding, Jessica proved her worth 100 times over. Our DJ showed up and did not have our song list! I didn't have to worry though, because Jessica had requested that I email it to her weeks prior and she still had a copy. She gave it to the DJ and I didn't have to spend the time before the ceremony trying to remember every song that my husband and I had chosen. I would recommend Jessica in a heart beat!

Debbie did the flowers for my daughter's wedding in July. She created beautiful arrangements, delivered the flowers to Portland, was on time, listened to what we wanted, had good suggestions for keeping costs manageable and was very pleasant to work with. We had a great experience.

We had the pleasure of Glenn, not only officiating our wedding, but he did our premarital counseling as well. He was always professional and encouraging! He truly loves the Lord and loves helping others with leading Godly lives! We are about to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary, and I think Glenn definitely helped give us the tools and Godly advice we needed to make it this far!

      About

I am available to officiate any style of ceremony, and have a variety of options. I can help from start to finish with your wedding plans, or just show up and make it legal. There are no limits to the imagination, and although content is important, the tone is what really matters. You want your guests to remember how great your big day was, as much as you do. I grew up attending weddings that tended to be officiated by a church minister in a formal setting, and though I remember flowers, receptions, food, etc., I rarely remember the service or what was said. I can administer a traditional ceremony as well, and I am willing to adapt to your expectations. I can travel to your location, and provide the documentation you need. I am a petite white female, and carry myself with pride and grace. I am confident I will provide you with an appropriate character to your specific needs.

      Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

      What is a wedding planner?

A wedding planner is a professional service provider whose job it is to organize and execute all the details of a couple’s wedding. A wedding planner can be contracted at any stage in the wedding planning process to help to any degree the couple is willing to pay for. Wedding planning is similar to event planning in that a planning team handles the coordination of multiple wedding elements including catering, venue, guests, entertainment, decor, transportation and more. Anyone who has ever been involved in a wedding can confirm that wedding planning is hard work. Experience brings wisdom when it comes to avoiding or resolving day-of challenges. There is no legal regulatory body that oversees or certifies wedding planning as an industry. Anyone who chooses can call themselves a wedding planner. When looking for a wedding planner, be sure to read reviews, and make smart hiring decisions by asking about licenses and insurance.

How much does it cost for a wedding planner?

Wedding planning is a full-time job — unless you hire a professional to handle the hard work for you. The cost for a wedding planner will depend on the level of service you desire. The least expensive wedding planner option is day-of coordination, then partial service, then full-service.

The national average cost for wedding planning is between $990 and $1,300. Costs are greatly affected by region, with rural or smaller-town wedding planners often far more affordable than planners in higher-cost cities. Here are some examples of the various levels of wedding planning and their potential average costs:

      • Day-of-wedding coordination: $800-$1,700. Day-of services can include the planner finalizing all details, creating a timeline, confirming vendors and overseeing all setup, day-of activities, and cleanup. The couple does all the front-end planning and contracts all the vendors. Time commitment could be about 15-25 hours, depending on pricing.
      • Partial service: $1,500-$3,800. Here the planner works with the couple from the beginning, helping contract vendors, creating a timeline, and overseeing all details of day-of execution. Time commitment could be about 30-60 hours, depending on package and pricing.
      • Full service: $3,500-$8,000 or more. Here the professional handles all wedding and planning details including working on design, securing rentals, getting the venue and vendors, and handling complete execution of the event. Time commitment could be 50-150 hours or more, depending on package and pricing.
      • Consulting: $50-$150 per hour for design, vendor, reception and other wedding planning consultation.
Hire skilled professionals for absolutely everything.
