Jesse is a great instructor with a prestigious background and education in singing and music in general. He knows what he's talking about. He's easy to get along and communicate with, and knows when to push you and how hard to push reach your goals. I had no music background at all and after A few lessons and his teachings, I already know I can go far in the music world. This guy is the real deal
My 7-year-old daughter took weekly singing lessons with Emily for a little over 3 months. Emily was sweet and very encouraging. My daughter really liked her and was always looking forward to her singing lessons. The lessons had to stop because Emily was relocating to another city. Before she left, Emily went out of her way, took time from her busy moving schedule and gave my daughter a free farewell lesson. We wish her all the best in her new chapter in life.
Just like the five stars indicate - "outstanding"! Seriously, Alisdair is a complete package. When you enlist him for your project, at first you may be looking for a producer or vocal engineer, songwriter, guitarist, or teacher, but once you work with him, he's so darn likable and enjoyable to work with that you may end up having him be all of the above! Alisdair is extremely accommodating. He will either come to you or open up his home studio for sessions. He's a seasoned musician with a keen ear. So, from my experience he's exuded the capabilities of a producer, songwriter, career coach, vocalist, teacher (music theory and vocals), and confidante. As of late, we've been putting a primary focus on building my vocal ability. He's patient and doesn't give off an ounce of negative judgement, so there's no need to fret over making mistakes. Very adaptable to the learning style of his clients, and displays a great ability at communicating a desired result with an action plan of how you're going to get there - it gives you even more confidence. His directions and method for explaining music makes sense, and he does it with the intention so that you REALLY understand the music and the concepts. At the end of our first vocal lesson, he had me record the vocal exercises we worked on with his production gear (he goes to great lengths to provide quality, so his software and set up are up to date), all personalized for my own voice so I could plug it onto my iPod and practice at home or before a performance. I have never been mentored by someone who's so delicate and concise in how they personalize their interaction and services. I'm blown away nearly every session at the new traits that come out of this guy. All in all, what I can say is: If you're looking for someone who can record you, produce your track, teach you how to work on your craft, and some life lessons to boot ... it's really all in one place with him, and his rates are very economical. We've been working together for the past 4 and a half months, so all I can say is "This is only the beginning". :0)
Amazing teacher and amazing woman. Singing lessons with Sofia were an amazing journey - to vocal and personal freedom. The teaching method Sofia uses was a revolution, changing almost all I was taught about singin so far - and it brought wonderful, unexpected results! If you are lucky enough to have a chance to learn from her - wow!
Kris Savitski is an amazing teacher and listener. I was nervous about the little knowledge and experience I had with playing piano being 35 years old. As I took a music theory class in college I used to know a bit more but it had been so long and wanted to finally learn to really play. Kris was able to quickly see where I was at and took the time in our first session to see what my strengths and (many) weaknesses were lol. He was able to immediately give me a couple of drills to practice at home or anywhere to build dexterity strength. Every lesson I have been taking with Kris is enjoyable as we practice pieces recommended by him to get me up to speed and improve music theory skills but ALSO pieces that I am interested in learning. I used to think that taking piano lessons would be boring and dreadful to go to, but Kris TRULY ADAPTED TO HOW I LEARN and mostly uses genres that appeal to me! His INNOVATIVE TEACHING is what has kept me coming back and continuing to take lessons from him. Some of our sessions include him playing a melody while I improvise the harmony which allows me to really learn the type of sound(s) I feel sound amazing together in order to write my own pieces. He will also video what I'm playing via my phone so that I can remember the improvised sounds and notes, along with finger placement for me to refer to when practicing at home. Of course he provides classic learning pieces to practice which are key for me to improve my music reading skills and muscle memory for finger placements as well. I mentioned to Kris in one of my later lessons that I wanted to write AND SING songs and he has now incorporated voice lessons with our practices. I never thought I would have enough courage to sing seriously in front of someone but Kris has a way of being professional yet truly helpful in a way that allows you to be comfortable as it can be scary opening your creativity up to anyone. Therefore I now have the the courage and ease to sing in front of him and have learned so many breathing and vocal techniques since we've started incorporating vocal too! I would highly recommend Kris to anyone at any skill set level as he is a true teacher and listener with extreme talent.
Patient, intelligent, talented… Those are just three of the qualities that Maxime displays as a guitar teacher. I started taking guitar lessons from him last year and to be honest, at first I was somewhat concerned about taking music lessons over the Internet. But it’s worked out quite well. And although I am a beginning guitar player, I’m not an inexperienced music student. After undergraduate studies in music. I went to Juilliard on scholarship before going on to perform all over the world. Lincoln Center, Carnegie Hall, recording contract with Sony. Recorded at Abbey Rd. Studios with the London Philharmonic, PBS radio and TV performances with leading orchestras and opera companies and along the way more voice lessons than I can remember…. 😬 so if there’s one thing I’ve done a lot of it’s take private music lessons. From a lot of people. Some good, some bad, and some great. And I have no qualms about recommending Max to either a beginning or advanced guitar student. He does a great job and is very organized in his teaching. So if you’re thinking of taking lessons give him a try. I think you’ll be very happy. Did I mention that is also a really nice guy…? 😎 Les young
I have had 2 singing lessons so far from Eleni. I feel that I am improving already! She is very skilled and observant and can see quickly where I am holding tension and help guide me how to relax both physically and mentally in ways that instantly effect my voice in positive ways. I am very excited to continue working with her and I highly recommend her as a teacher. She is experienced, highly knowledgeable, friendly and comfortable to be around and effective!!
Does a great job teaching voice lessons to my 14 year old daughter and 17 year old son with Aspergers.
My wife and I have been taking music lessons with Kyle for over a year. He is a very versatile musician being proficient on the piano, guitar and vocals. Because of this he is able explain many different aspects of music. He is also extremely patient. Kyle is the best.
Bonnie is, quite simply, a superb piano teacher, and we whole-heartedly recommend her to anyone who is serious about his or her child learning to play the piano. She translates complex music theory into easy building blocks for a small child to understand. Bonnie then relates these concepts to activities and ideas easy to grasp. She balances mechanics with theory and sight-reading with improvisation. And Bonnie has an amazing amount of patience, kindness, good humor, and phenomenal skill! She can draw my daughters little wandering mind back to the subject easily and makes learning the piano fun and interesting.
I was thrown into the dueling piano circuit after learning three songs from the entertainment director who then disappeared. Shannon took it upon himself to not only teach me essential songs that would entertain a crowd but show me the core of theory and how to apply it on the gig. Almost five years later, I can honestly say that if it wasn't for his instruction and instilling not just the theory of music, but the mindset of a live performer, I would not have made it in the industry or be half the musician I am today.
Evan is an excellent guitar teacher! Lessons are always fun with a perfect balance between music theory and practice. He is extremely informative and helpful when it comes to tricks and techniques to work on to improve my skills. He is really flexible and can come to my house for lessons when I can't make it out to his. I'm exited to continue working with Evan and I would recommend him to anyone looking to learn how to play the guitar!
I took piano lessons from Geoff 2 years ago and unfortunately due to financial issues had to quit. For the months that I was able to be taught by him, I loved how patient he was with me as well as the materials he gave me. I would definitely return to him if I was able to do so in the future
Helen, was AMAZING, she taught my 6 yr daughter her first piano lesson. We were going to try out a few different teachers, but after meeting her, I have no interest going anywhere else. Thank you for being so friendly and so talented! <3 A few things that were important to me were, 1. She could connect with my 6 year old. 2. That she could teach syllabus. 3. That she has opportunities for her students to perform during the year. She met all three of those. :)
My 4 year old son and I get lessons from Nyssa. I do voice. I have learned a lot from Nyssa. She is very knowledgeable, patient and so encouraging! My son is doing Wunderkeys(preschool piano)with Nyssa. He has limited motor skills and this has really helped him make great progress. I see growth in that he is doing things with his hands that he had trouble with in the past. She works really well with him as well. My husband calls it my son's "occupational therapy." I would recommend her 100%
Attila was great with my 8 year old. He is very patient, was able to teach some basic guitar concepts, and gave reasonable homework for the time between lessons. We've only had one lesson so far, but my son is excited to learn more!
Today was my first day working with Darin, and I must say I was more than impressed by his knowledge in music, skills in pedagogy, and his overall passion and enthusiasm for music and teaching! I could truly sense his excitement for me to learn and how much he cared to provide me with all the resources needed for me to succeed. He is not only an excellent pianist, but truly has incredible talent and knowledge in teaching. He truly spends his time generously in teaching and makes the learning experience so exciting. Darin spend extra time outside of the lesson planning out the lesson and then typing up all the things we covered in the lesson so I would have a summary and point of reference. I highly recommend him and am looking forward to working with him as my teacher!
Kelsey is an absolutely wonderful voice coach. I have worked with her both in company shows and for individual instruction. She is very patient and kind. But she also knows when to push you so that you are doing your best. She has a vast knowledge of all sorts of music including jazz, Broadway, and opera, and knows what will suit your voice. It's always great to see what she will suggest next. I highly recommend her for both young and not-so-young students.
My son is 14 years old and has no musical background. Taking lessons from Bethany has been a wonderful experience for him. She has a very relaxed and open approach to teaching. I don't need to remind him to practice because he is self motivated and doesn't want to disappoint his teacher. He is receiving a solid foundation and I believe she will be able to help him progress throughout the years. She is also very responsive and is easy to reach by email. I would highly recommend her services!!
Marcy has been a phenomenal teacher. I am an adult learner just starting on the piano and have been taking lessons from her for 6 months now. Marcy is very patient makes you feel very comfortable about being a beginner. She keeps the lessons interesting, engaging and relevant to your aspirations. She is very knowledgeable about music and about teaching piano. She includes as little or as much music theory as you want. Give her a call. You won't be disappointed. Highly recommended!!
I took cello lessons with Elisa for a few years and played in a group of student, stringed musicians led by her for a few more. She is very good at what she does. She is also very kind. Her lessons are affordable (especially important for a broke college student like me), and her schedule flexible for the most part.
