Started job on the actual day they said they would 3. Cleaned each day 4. Job priced right 5. William Dever kept me in the loop about everything 6. The workers were fantastic and professional Please don’t hesitate and call Adad construction.

I can’t say enough about working with Jim Roccia. From the time I called until my roofing job was complete was a little over a week. Not only was Jim prompt with his response to my call but he came to take a look at my roof within a day. He carefully explained the problem with my roof, showing pictures of what the issues were. His proposal was fair and clearly spelled out. Jim was on time for the job and completed it well beyond my satisfaction, once again showing me pictures of the completed work. I highly recommend James Roccia Roofing.

Bill was absolutely great. He came out the first day I contacted him and completed the estimate. He provided details and pictures about the current state of my roof. We had some unforeseen scheduling issues due to the weather, but Bill was patient and maintained contact about his availability. It was a pleasure working with Bill and I look forward to using him again for the second part of my roof repair.

Will's Home Remodeling was the general contractor for my major residential renovation at 183Jordan Road in Somers Point NJ. The project took about 4 months to complete where we completely gutted and renovated this badly damaged home that sat vacant for over 5 years. This was a $100k+ renovation for total labor and materials and Will and his team were the glue that kept the project on track and within budget. Will and his team personally completed all new vinyl siding, all new windows, new roofing, new gutters, new insulation, several new walls, stucco and cement repair, new stair steps, bathroom and shower and back splash and accent tile work, kitchen cabinet installation, wall board, spackling, caulking, trim work, door frames, shower doors and many miscellaneous requests. Will partnered well with some challenging subcontractors in the areas of plumbing, electrical, outside concrete, flooring and granite counter top installation. When the other subcontractors dropped the ball, Will was always there with a creative solution and to help get them back on task. I would definitely hire Wills Home Remodeling for my next project.

Not only did I receive a quote quickly, but all the responses to my questions came fast as well. At the end of the job, the last step requires you to go back through the following 7 steps to add something optional that would improve the integrity of my gazebo. Without hesitation, he went back all 7 steps and did the job to perfection. Many contractors would have thrown away the parts, collected their money and left. Not here! I will recommend to Family and friends and hope I can find another project to leverage them. Thanks again!

We are writing to thank Roof Renovation & Construction LLC for the exceptional work your entire team did replacing our roof. We met with Gilberth who handled the entire job with utmost professionalism. Throughout the complete process he answered any questions that arose and when needed, made specific recommendations for challenges found as the work progressed. In our case it required that all the plywood be replaced prior to adding the shingles. However, our entire roof was replaced in a single day! They are fast, efficient and pay attention to detail and safety! Our job was done with care and precision. Gilberth was also accurate in his initial assessment of the scale and cost of our project. The installers did a superior job with the installation and their knowledge was apparent. Our property was never in disarray as they cleaned up as they worked. We were very impressed by their courtesy and professionalism as well as the long hours they worked. It was refreshing to find a company that has great work ethics and a commitment to do what they say! In short, working with Roof Renovation & Construction LLC was a very positive experience and we highly recommend them for any roofing or construction needs.

One of the best experiences I've had from any contractor's doing work on our house. Immediate response to my notification. Arrived at our house within 30 minutes and provided a very fair quotation. Returned the next day and did a very good job and cleaned up the area when he finished. Scheduled for another job next week. Highly recommended to anyone.

I highly recommend William and his team. The general roofing contractors gets 5 stars from me! William and his team are very friendly, professional and reliable for anything you need done. This is the second time I relied on William and his team for work needed on my house. The first time I called I needed an emergency repair at 8pm. Although it was late, that did not matter to William, he was there right away! The second time I called I needed my roof redone. I love the way William and his team work and I am very pleased with the result of my new roof. General Roofing contractors is well worth the call for free estimates. This team makes the process easy and I cannot thank William and his team enough!

Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

Can a metal roof be installed over shingles?

Metal roofs are durable, environmentally friendly, safe and budget-friendly. If you’re considering an update, metal roofing installation doesn’t have to mean completely removing your old roof. In many cases, metal roofing can be installed over your existing shingles. Research building codes in your state, as many require that after two roofs have been installed, all roofing materials must be completely removed before a third roof can be put on. This protects your home’s structural integrity and your family’s safety. Carefully read contractor reviews and choose someone with extensive experience with metal roofing installation. One concern when installing metal over shingles is that over time, condensation can build on the shingles and cause the metal to rust. This will lead to rust around the panels, making them more likely to come loose in a storm. Nationally, the average cost for metal roofing installation ranges from $6,000 to $20,000. The wide price range represents different roof sizes, different types of metal, and the cost of labor in different parts of the country — and can also include the cost of removing an old shingle roof prior to installing the metal. As a line item, the average cost of removing an old roof to prepare for installing a new roof, plus adding new roof decking, costs on average about $45-$75 per square (the pro roofer’s term for 100 square feet), depending on the pitch of the roof. Always make sure you have a clearly written contract and a warranty on both the labor and the metal.

What is a standing seam metal roof?

A standing seam metal roof may be a strong, durable, safe choice when you’re considering metal roofing installation options. A standing seam refers to the raised seam where the sheet metal roofing panels join. Traditionally, shingles and roof panels lie flush to the roof, making them more prone to rust or penetration by water at their seams. In a standing seam metal roof, the raised (or standing) seams run vertically from the roof ridge to the eaves, with no horizontal seams. In addition, the fasteners joining the metal panels together are concealed, providing even fewer opportunities for water or moisture to build up. The cost to install a standing seam metal roof will depend on the type of metal you select, the size of your roof, and the cost of roofing labor in your region. Materials will play a major role in your metal roofing installation costs. If you select standard galvanized steel, the cost per square (100 square feet) might be in the $150-$300 range, while a high-end choice such as copper or zinc could be between $1,000 and $1,500 per square. Here is one example of cost:

  • Standing seam metal roof: $300 per square to start, including materials and labor.
    • A 30-square roof could cost $9,000 or more.

How much does it cost for a metal roof?

Metal roofing installation is an attractive option thanks to metal’s long lifespan, hardiness and fire-retardant properties. Nationally, the average cost for metal roofing installation ranges from $6,000 to $20,000.There are different types of metal roofs, each with their own installation needs and materials costs. Roof size also affects your metal roofing installation costs, as do regional labor rates. Roof size is measured in squares; one square equals 100 square feet. Here are some examples of the average cost for a metal roof:

  • Standard metal roof: $120-$150 per square to start, including materials and labor
    • A 30-square roof (a 3,000-square-foot roof) could cost between $3,600 and $4,500 for a typical three-bedroom home.
  • Snap-Loc metal roof: $200-$225 per square to start, including materials and labor.
    • A 30-square roof could cost $6,000-$6,750.
  • Standing seam metal roof: $300 per square to start, including materials and labor.
    • A 30-square roof could cost $9,000 or more.
  • Tuff-Rib metal roof: $250-$350 per square to start, including materials and labor.
    • A 30-square roof could cost $7,500-$10,500.
  • Mid-range metal roof package, including all accessories: $300-$500 per square.
    • A 30-square roof could cost $9,000-$15,000.
  • High-end metal roof package — such as zinc or copper — and all accessories: $1,000-$1,500 per square.
    • A 30-square roof could cost $30,000-$45,000.
