Firstly, I can't recommend Gary highly enough for any level of remodeling or renovation jobs you may be doing. We recently used Real Deal$ to remodel the kitchen, bathroom and a large portion of the living area in our home and have been delighted with the both the process and the results. Having worked in real estate/property development, I have worked with a number of other contractors and know when I'm working with someone who knows their business and takes genuine pride in the quality of the work they're doing- and that certainly describes Gary and the sub contractors he works with. Although I was pretty sure I wanted to use Real Deal$ based on a friend's recommendation, I wanted to get bids from other renovation contractors for our remodel just to be thorough. When compared with the other bids, I was very impressed with Gary's pricing and the level of detail outlined in his bid. Another big factor for me in choosing the right contractor was the lead time involved for the renovation. Most of the other contractors couldn't work within our time constraints- which was to have all of the remodeling completed in six weeks. We knew it would be tight but Gary absolutely pulled through for us. Both our kitchen and bathroom look amazing, and both are so much more functional than they were before. We were absolutely delighted (and surprised based on experience with other contractors) that the remodel stayed on schedule and within our budget. The remodel took the demolition of the kitchen, bathroom and part of the living space down to the studs and put it all back together again with new plumbing, electrical and heating. Gary helped source all of the new appliances and finishes through his vendors for the entire remodel which can be a handful if you haven't done it before. He provided us with numerous sources for our kitchen cabinetry also. All the work performed throughout the remodel is of the highest standard and we enjoyed working with Gary and all of his sub contractors. I also really appreciated how hard they all worked towards keeping the remodel on schedule and 'WITHIN OUR BUDGET'. Remodeling, or any kind of renovation, (whether big or small) can be very stressful- but having Gary as our contractor really helped alleviate the majority of our concerns and I will definitely be calling him for any future renovation needs we may have. David inspected a home I was interested in purchasing last year. I've never seen a home inspector go above and beyond the way that he did. There was no ladder to reach the roof access hatch in a hallway in the house. I was satisfied because the roof looked almost new from the outside. David was obsessed with seeing it for himself. He took off his shoes and, using the walls, climbed up into the attic like a monkey. Well, he found patches all over, serious moisture, signs of leaks and evidence that the existing shingles were laid on top of the old roof. Next, the crawlspace access panels were buried in dirt. David got a shovel from his truck, dug one out and belly crawled through the mud, spider webs, etc. under the house to give me a thorough report of that situation. His diligence totally changed my offer on the house. The estate was asking 400k for the property. After David's report, they let it go for 195k. He truly loves his job. Cannot recommend him enough. You will learn EVERYTHING about the property.

Nightmare from the beginning!! Justin our property manager actually nickel and dimed us, destroyed the relationship with the tenants, and ended up hanging up on me during our conversation on cost that he receives kick backs on from his Absolute Contracting Team. I cannot believe this company even exists. They will NEVER communicate with you, and you will get a surprise every month showing all the costs they came up with. I have another property manager, and he is amazing. STAY AWAY FROM PGM, you will receive nightmare email after nightmare email.

My husband and I are first time home buyers, and we didn't know the first thing about buying a home.       What is a home inspection?

      A home inspection is a visual inspection performed by a trained professional to determine the condition of a home’s main elements. The inspection usually takes several hours, during which the professional takes multiple photos and notes, tracking information for a final report. After the inspection, the pro will create a printed report, complete with photos and detailed information, summarizing the condition of the house. A home inspection is often used by potential home buyers prior to purchase to determine if there are larger issues (such as dry rot or a faulty foundation) that are not immediately visible to the untrained eye but that would cost a lot of money to resolve. Home inspections are also used by real estate agents and home sellers to address any concerns before putting a home on the market. Longtime homeowners can also schedule a home inspection to get a snapshot of their current home condition and identify any issues that need to be addressed. A home inspection is not a legal document that can be used for divorce or estate settlements, nor can it be used to secure loans or mortgages.

      What does a real estate agent do?

      Real estate agents help their clients buy, sell, and rent commercial and residential properties. There are also real estate agents that sell industrial and agricultural real estate, but the majority sell residential properties. To become a real estate agent, you must be at least 18 years old, successfully complete real estate courses, and pass a real estate exam. Be sure to check for any required licensing, too. Often real estate agents will earn 5 percent to 6 percent of the total home sale price for their work in representing their client. Typically this commission is split equally between the buyer’s agent and the seller’s agent. Here is an overview of what a real estate agent does, according to the United States Department of Labor:

      How do you find a good home inspector?

      A home inspection should tell you the true condition of a home. A competent home inspector closely inspects your home’s structure and foundation, looks for termites and signs of problems like mold, checks the wiring to ensure it’s in good condition, and investigates the HVAC system, among other items. To find a good home inspector, first research whether home inspection is licensed in your area; not all states require licensure.

      If there is no regulatory body that licenses home inspection in your state, there are other ways to make sure you are hiring a trustworthy professional. Carefully look into the person’s reviews and ask for references. Ask if they are committed to continuing education, and whether they are active members in any reputable home inspector organizations. Some organizations that recognize and/or certify home inspectors are the American Society of Home Inspectors, National Association of Certified Home Inspectors, and American Home Inspectors Training. Don’t be shy about asking to see credentials and licensing.

      What's the difference between a real estate broker and an agent?

      Real estate agents and real estate brokers both help clients buy, sell, and rent residential and commercial properties. According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, real estate brokers are licensed to manage their own real estate businesses. Real estate agents cannot have their own real estate office and must work under a broker. Real estate brokers often have real estate firms and employ real estate agents. Those real estate agents may be employees of the firm, or they may work on contract and earn part of any commission they bring into the firm.

      If you are a homeowner ready to sell or a buyer in the market for a new home, either a real estate broker or a real estate agent can help you achieve your goal. What is more important than their title is their track record and client success stories. When interviewing real estate agents or brokers to help you buy or sell a home, ask about their recent sales history as compared with the original listing prices. If you’re selling a home, ask how they would market your home and what price they would list it at. Whether you hire an agent or broker, you want a professional who will have your best interests at heart.

      What should you look for in a real estate agent?

      When you’re hiring a real estate agent you want to find a qualified pro who can negotiate the best deal for your home — whether you’re buying or selling. Reading reviews will help you weed out obvious bad operators; you want to work with someone who treats their clients with fairness and respect. That said, you also want someone who can play hardball and maximize your real estate deal. Ask for references from recent clients, and be sure to call them.

      Experts encourage you to interview more than one prospective real estate agent before hiring. A home sale or home purchase is a big deal — sometimes the biggest deal in a person’s life — and you want to find an agent who will work hard for you. In today’s market, having a real estate agent who is social media savvy and has an attractive online presence is critical. Ask the agent how they plan to market your house. Review their listings, and ask yourself if they have professional photos with homes that are professionally staged. If the answer is no, they might not have the marketing savvy you’re looking for. Ask what price they would list your house at and why. Pay attention to how they communicate with you during your initial interviewing phase. Are they too busy to respond for several days? Are they clear and helpful? This information is a clue to how they’ll engage during the entire process.
