Alejandro is a wonderful teacher. He's patient and makes me feel comfortable speaking in Spanish. The first couple lessons began with a nice balance of English/Spanish, which allowed me to ask questions in English, while still encouraging me to practice Spanish. In the lessons since, we've gradually transitioned to speaking almost entirely in Spanish, almost without me even noticing. He provides exercises in between classes that are short enough to complete with my busy work schedule, but still keep me practicing in between seeing him. Could not recommend him more!
It was really awesome to learn Spanish from Sibyl. I started from the very basic such as "¿Qué tal?"or "Gracias", and now i can build a sentence and briefly describe the situation in Spanish within 3 months. She prepares interesting materials including pamphlet written in Spanish/ family pictures, which was really helpful to make me feel close to Spanish. I highly recommend to people like me who wants to learn basic Spanish.
Diane Brown is an extraordinary human being and an outstanding Spanish teacher. Her primary concern is what works best for the individual student and she is prepared to use multiple modalities recognizing the students’ visual, auditory and kinesthetic learning strengths. Spanish is learned as a living spoken and written language influenced by rich cultures. As her colleague and team leader, I was impressed by her enthusiasm, commitment to her students and her work ethic. As the parent three students, I was delighted by the depth and breadth their Spanish knowledge after just two years of Middle School Spanish.
I really enjoyed my class with Professor Lokos. She was very energetic and encouraged class participation. Class was always fun and had a theatrical spin to it, which made learning Spanish a lot easier. Professor Lokos, always goes above and beyond to reach her students and is always willing to listen. Great person both in the classroom and in office hours.

RoLa has designed its courses to make sure that students sign up for the proper level. The goal is to make our classes progressive in nature, so that students can continue advancing in the language of their choice. However, our focus is on speaking the language. At RoLa, there is a heavy emphasis on vocabulary building, listening comprehension, and speaking skills. Grammar and conjugations are taught, but it is the responsibility of the students to learn them on their own. The Beginner Spanish class is for the complete beginner. Over the course of 8 weeks, students will learn proper pronunciation, important vocabulary, and two verb tenses. RoLa offers day and evening classes, 1-on-1 tutoring, weekend immersion programs, and Skype lessons.
