FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Prices indicated are for individual nutrition counseling or fitness training sessions. Monthly packages for fitness training are available. That said, I never turn anyone away for inability to pay. A sliding scale is available for nutrition counseling.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
After a brief phone chat and an appointment has been scheduled, I ask the client to keep a food log for a minimum of three days prior to our meeting. It should be two week days and one weekend day. I also ask them to bring their most recent blood test. When the client arrives, we introduce ourselves and get to know each other a bit. Then the client fills out a Health History Questionnaire while I peruse the blood test looking for clues. If weight loss is a goal, we do a body fat test using a Tanita Bio-Electrical Impedance Scale which the client stands on. We then discuss the goals and issues and formulate a strategy. We establish a goal for the coming week and look at any issues surrounding any feelings about the goal and its' attainability.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
In addition to Masters Degrees in both Human Nutrition and Exercise Science & Wellness, I am a Certified Nutrition Specialist certified by the Board for Certification of Nutrition Specialists. This is one of the preeminent certifications in nutrition as one must have a Masters degree or MD to sit for the exam. I am also certified by the American College of Sports Medicine. I have over twenty-five years of experience in helping people lose weight, feel better, get healthy and reduce the need for medications thru diet and exercise. I am passionate about good food and it's importance to optimal health.
