If you are looking for photographers, I highly recommend Stat images! As most brides, the photography was one of the most important things to me. When I met with Shane, and Travis to go over what I was wanting, I knew right away we were in good hands. The day of the wedding the two of them went over and beyond what I felt like was their job. They were so calming in the overwhelming parts of the day. They both work together flawlessly. They really listened in our meeting, and what was important to my husband and I. I was also able to mention in our meeting some potential difficulties that might occur during pictures. The Day of they had that potential drama more than covered, I didnt even have to give it another thought. Also having the two of them capturing different prospectives of the day was awesome. I knew we were going to be so happy with the photos they captured! When the pictures got to us, I have to say they far exceeded my expectations! They were AMAZING!! And now we have beautiful pictures of our wedding day, that we can look at for the rest of our lives! Thank you again for your amazing work. Stephanie

They went above and beyond to make sure they captured every moment for my clients wedding. They even did a same day edit video that was shown later in the evening! These guys truly are amazing and it was an honor to work with them. The staff is professional, they worked with all my clients' wants and needs and really blew me away with their work. Their work is incredible! TrumpetBird is definitely my go to videographer for any event. I highly recommend them to anyone looking for this type of service. The pictures came out beautiful, chapel pictures with my family are timeless and I also received candids from the cocktail hour and reception. Seeing the priceless moments of dancing and hugging and laughing will be cherished throughout our years. Very professional and enjoyable to have around both of our families, with many people from our family hugging the photographers at the end of the night! The editing time was short and sweet at two weeks, right around the time we came home from our Honey moon! Ross was very accommodating and helped with any questions I had. I would highly recommend this company! He has a keen eye for unscripted joy in shared moments! We also received a video of the wedding and reception that was truly magical and romantic. The camera angles were smooth and blended well from one shot to the next. We love it! Thank you guys again we are eternally grateful!

Logan (Scenic Sound Solutions) was a fantastic DJ for our June 2016 wedding (60 guests). Logan found every song we (and our guests) requested and followed song suggestions for pre-ceremony, ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception to a "t." Logan was easy to work with, responded to all messages promptly, and was ALL SMILES for our entire event - even with a few last minute changes! Logan arrived early and stayed late - and kept the guests smiling the entire event. We received nothing but compliments. He brought everything he needed - speakers, mic, uplights - and really just made our night even more perfect.

George Little took some amazing pictures of my wedding and we are so appreciative. We are having our first child in April and he is exactly who I want to capture those moments with our son. He not only has an amazing eye for light, shape and color, but also has the wonderful ability to capture the heart of a moment to preserve it in time.

    About

My name is Sergio Plecas. I am a director and director of photography with over 10 years of experience in the industry. I was born and raised in Croatia and have been here in America since 2003. I went to school at Open University Znjanje in Serbia and received a degree in photography. As a director of photography, I see the world a bit differently than the average person. I have been very fortunate to have worked with the likes of Mark Walberg (Antiques Roadshow), Kristin Davis (Sex & the City), Maksim Chmerkoskiy (Dancing with the Stars), Jack Perkins (A&E Biography) and Ken Burns (documentary filmmaker). My work recently received an Emmy nomination. First and foremost, I am a cinematographer. At its core, cinematography is an art form, and this art comes through in my photos as well. Before I even click a button, I have already envisioned the shot I want to capture. I'm working out lighting situations, determining how to best light my subject to communicate a vision. Capturing a vision is, after all, what being a director of photography is about. I think this is what makes me different than a lot of photographers in this area. My photography is often like stills from a movie. When it comes to photography, I like to bring a unique touch to shots. Everyone has a camera these days, so it's a professional photographer's job to bring something else to the table. I like to push the envelope sometimes. My goal at the end of the day is to provide my clients with a set of images that provoke deeper thought: images that capture emotion, a feeling. These are images that say something and mean something. I shoot architecture, weddings, portraits, engagements, families, special events, products, ads and anything else worth remembering. I am happy to travel to shoots. My wife Amanda is my photo editor. She makes things look magical, and she knows you want to look good. Because of this, she is often my trusty sidekick at shoots and helps with posing, backdrops, lighting and in everything. She helps make things happen (like my website) and is the one most often responsible for producing perfect complexions and incredible coloring. She often assists with hair and makeup when needed. If you call for scheduling, you will be speaking with Amanda. She is much more organized than I am, and I wouldn't trust my busy schedule to anyone else.

    Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

What is a videographer and what do they do?

A videographer professionally films weddings and other events and edits the footage to create film keepsakes or marketing materials for their clients. Wedding videographers record all the key elements of your wedding day, ceremony and reception, and then edit the hours of film during post-production to make a wedding video, social media highlight reels, and any other film features you choose. Wedding videography captures, in live action, your vows, the cake-cutting, the first dance, reception toasts, the decor, the guests and all the details of your day. Many wedding videographers also interview guests (based on an interview list provided by the couple) and incorporate the recorded responses into the wedding video. Event videography typically costs less than wedding videography, as events are shorter with less detail. The national average cost for event videography is $500-$760, while the national average cost for wedding videography is $990-$1,260. A videographer usually does not need to be licensed, but it is important to confirm they have insurance and good standing in the business community, as well as good client reviews. A great majority of the work happens during post-production. The pros watch and blend together the hours of footage they took (sometimes from multiple cameras) to capture the story of your wedding day or event.

How do you choose a wedding videographer?

A wedding videographer will create a lifetime memory for you from edited video footage of your wedding day, ceremony and reception. Choosing a wedding videographer starts with looking online at portfolios of their past work. There’s no need to talk to anyone unless you love what you see. Next, make sure they have good reviews and past client experience; don’t be shy about asking for references if there aren’t any posted online. When you find someone who has a style you love, ask if they are available on your wedding day. If so, it’s time to talk pricing. Be clear about your maximum budget, and ask what kind of packages they offer. Pricing will depend on the number of crew needed for filming, the hours they are required to be onsite, post-production editing, and the length of the final product. Talk with several wedding videographers to get a feel for what prices are like in your region. Nationally, the average cost for wedding videography ranges between $990 and $1,260 per event. Once you agree on a product and have a plan, get everything in a written and signed contract. Clearly state the details of what is expected for your wedding day and from the final product. Be prepared to pay a deposit to reserve their services for the day, then pay the remainder upon receiving the video.

What should you ask your wedding videographer before hiring?

Finding the perfect wedding videographer doesn’t have to be stressful. Asking a few key questions upfront will help you find the right fit for your big day. Before talking with wedding videographers, research their work online. Look at their websites, business profiles and social media, and see what their finished wedding videos look like. If the style fits what you’re envisioning, it’s time to reach out. During initial contact, make sure you get along with the person. This is important since they’ll be interacting with you and your guests.

Your first question should be about their availability; there’s no point in going further if they’re booked on your wedding day. Ask to see references if they’re not readily available online. Next, it’s time to talk about money. Ask how they determine rates or what kind of packages they offer. When you settle on a rate and the services you want, make sure to have a written contract that outlines everything, including cost, length of time they film, what post-production will include, and when you can expect to receive the edited project.

How much is videography for a wedding?

Wedding videography is one thing many couples regret not paying for. It may seem like just another expense during wedding planning, but it’s really special to have a moving memory of your big day. The national average cost for wedding videography is $990-$1,260. Pricing can vary depending on wedding length, special film features, the amount of editing required, and how many videographers are needed to cover the event. Many videographers offer packages that provide different levels of service. A very simple wedding documentary could be $600 or more, while a full-scale cinematic experience involving multiple videographers could be $2,500 or more. Here’s an example of average package pricing:

    • Package 1: $1,400
      • Footage during and after the ceremony, including highlights requested by the couple.
      • Two cameras with audio equipment.
      • DVD including a 3- or 4-minute edit to a song of the couple’s choice and a 45- to 50-minute raw edit covering the entire event.
      • Recordings of guests’ good wishes to the couple.
    • Package 2: $1,800
      • Includes everything from Package 1, plus an additional videographer (2 total) and aerial videography.

When do you pay your wedding videographer and wedding photographer?

Most wedding videographers and photographers require a set deposit when you hire them. Wedding season is a busy time and a deposit secures that vendor’s services for your wedding date. It also protects the vendor if the couple changes their mind at the last minute, and they can’t find a new booking and lose work for the day. The deposit may be anywhere from 20 percent to  50 percent of the agreed-upon total price. Always get a written confirmation that your deposit has been received.

The remainder of the wedding videography and photography bill may be due in the week before to your wedding or on the day of the wedding. Other vendors may require a second payment immediately before the wedding and a third and final payment after the wedding video or photos are delivered. Each vendor has their own policies, so before hiring be sure to read, understand and agree to payment protocols. There is no requirement for tipping wedding videographers or photographers, but if you do want to tip them, the end of the reception is the appropriate time.

Hire skilled professionals for absolutely everything.
